We decided to fully renovate our kitchen and make some small alterations on the first floor, including in the family room, laundry and powder room. We contacted 5 contractors for this work to provide us with an estimate. We picked our contractor based on the following criteria: 1.Quality of Work 2.Price Affordability 3.Delivery Time We were impressed with how thorough and structured Wellman was throughout the estimate process: All the tasks to be performed are described line per line. We could visualize the end product. Compared to the other 4 contractors, Wellman had the best price (par with another contractor), and we were ok with the 4-5 week timeline to finish the work. We picked Wellman to do this work, which ended up being a great decision. We were invited to their show room to finalize the deal. Duane and Sharifa were very helpful guiding us through the process. One week after the start date, Sharifa helped us choose the counter top. Wellman performed the work according to plan. They were some issues (small) regarding the delivery of material but Wellman was able to address them quickly to our satisfaction. We are very happy with our kitchen and the work Wellman company has done. We thank all the crew of Wellman ? General Contracting &Home Improvements LLC- for a job well done. We highly recommend Wellman - General Contracting &Home Improvements- for any kitchen installation/renovation & home improvements.

It went well. They got everything done they said they would in about a week and half. They were mostly on time, but ran into some traffic a couple days. The owner's wife helped us pick out the colors and design it and it turned out wonderfully. The project manager kept us informed throughout the whole project.

We liked Wellman General Contracting And Home Improvements a lot. They were really nice. We met with them in person. The one guy came here. We talked to him in our kitchen and then we went over to their store and met with his wife and they pulled up the plan on a screen for us. They spent a really long time talking with us about different options. We really liked them. We didn't ultimately decide to get the work done at that time, but we would go back to them, when we decide to move forward. They were genuine and trustworthy.

We cannot say enough good things about the team and work performed by this Company. We first became interested in their advertisement for a "basic" bath remodel deal last July and had a measurement done at that time-complete with the desired upgrades . Dwayne and Sharifia Wellman are a great team and they both took lots of time to help us select our choices of tile, colors, etc. even making suggestions that we wound up loving and would not have thought of ourselves and not always high priced options either. We added the partial restoration in Nov. and they scheduled our work to start on Jan.14th. In Dec., the foreman of the work group, Jose, came by and took final measurements and asked a few clarifying questions . The work team showed up on Jan.14th and were completely finished by Jan. 24th. The workmanship quality is excellent, the timeliness exceeded expectations, the clean up was close to perfection and there was ongoing dialogue with and daily visits by Jose every day during the job. We are delighted with the results, and we are quite sure we received top value for our money. We have already referred Wellman to a neighbor and loom forward to having them return later in the year to perform other services

They were very responsible and professional. They did a good job and finished on time. I am very happy with them.

We went in because we saw an ad in a local flyer. The showroom was quite nice, and we talked with Sharifa. After a bad experience at a competitor, we went back to Wellman, and eventually signed a contract. They began work a couple of weeks after we signed the contract. It took almost four weeks for the project to be complete which is what they told us in the beginning. I am glad that we didn't go with a company that did a slat dash job and took its time to do it right. (I had a terrible experience with a national chain that redid our kitchen years ago in a few days.) Duane supervised the entire job and did some additional work for us in another room. I am very happy with the almost final result (there is one finishing touch that Duane wants to do). I feel as if I have a new house for a lot less than buying one!

We were very methodical in selecting a contractor. Our house is 14 years and needed some updates but we were in no rush until we found the right contractor. After meeting with Duane and Sharifa we thought we had found our match and their references confirmed our impression. The project was originally schedule for 4.5 weeks but it was closer to 6. They started on time and Roberto and his team were excellent. He did amazing tile work and there was a lot to be done. He did not rush his work and he made sure everything was centered and leveled properly. His slow and steady approach made the tiling work look impeccable. The window installers and the electrician did outstanding work as well. If we spotted something that needed to be redone, always minor issues, Duane made sure it was fixed to our satisfaction. There never was any arguing about having to redo work or talk about any concerns that we may have. Wellman provides the customer service you typically don't see anymore. It is not to say the process was perfect. There was mix ups on the things that were order and they ran out of tile. In addition, the Granite people did not comprehend simple geometry and failed to cut our center island correctly 2 times. Duane made sure that the problem was resolved and followed through at every instance. We plan to use Wellman again in the next year or so when we remodel our half bath and have other work done.

They were responsive, professional and punctual. I would use their services to provide a quote again in the future.

This is the second job Duane has done for us this year. He and his crew did such a great job, we didn't look any further for our laundry room update. The crew arrived on time every day and left the work area neat and tidy. The rough out plumbing for the toilet was located behind the furnace which made this a tight fit. Duane built two walls and added a bi-fold door to enclose the toilet. Originally the plan called for a swing out door. The only hiccup came when I questioned the size of the "loo". Duane said he had measured it so it would fit, but he'd revise the plan and use a bi-fold door, thus providing a bit more space. He redid the walls without question. He did exactly what we asked. It was great working with him.

Our experience with Duane and Sharifa Wellman was fantastic from our very first meeting. Last fall we started looking for a remodeling contractor from Angie's List. Although we interviewed several that were highly rated, we weren't getting the right vibe. We saw an ad for Wellman and checked Angie's List. Although they were listed, there were no reports posted at that time. We sent an e-mail request for an estimate, and Sharifa responded with a phone call within the hour. Duane came to our house to discuss our ideas the following week. That first meeting with Duane was right down to business and we felt comfortable with him from the start. He responded with a quote within a week. Due to the holidays, we didn't get back to Duane right away. In mid-January we contacted Duane again detailing our more defined design ideas and asking for a revised quote. We met with Duane and Sharifa at their showroom where we talked some more about our design and looked at their products. We selected the cabinets, hardware, countertops from their showroom display. We didn't find the tile we wanted in the showroom, so they encouraged us to look elsewhere and to let them know what we wanted and they would try to purchase it for us. We signed a contract mid-February, and work started right as scheduled on March 7. The first day Duane and his crew reported on time and went right to work. I was surprised to come home from work to find a demolished bath but no garbage or tools hanging about. This had never happened in other remodel jobs. Although it didn't stay as neat as Day 1, work progressed steadily. Each day we returned home to find more progress made. The team Duane brought in for each phase (electrical, tile, plumbing) were hard workers and were professional in all ways. Duane and Sharifa were very responsive to any questions or concerns we had. We felt comfortable leaving this professional crew in our home every day. The only mishap was a misunderstanding of the wall tile design (as we discussed the changes mid-way through our consultation process). This resulted in some lost tile and lost time. However, once this was rectified, the project went smoothly. It took a little longer to get the mirrors and shower door, but it was worth the wait. Midway through this remodel, we asked Duane to also install crown molding and base molding in the living room, dining room and half-bath on the first floor. He had no problems with adding this to the project and it was done within days without losing time on the bath remodel. This was the best remodel experience we've had! This is the second time we used Wellman Contracting and that says a lot. You deal with Mr. Wellman and his wife. They are VERY professional. This is a contractor that follows through on what he says, does it when he says he will do it, and provides high quality work at a good price. We will call Wellman again!
