Tile Center

The Tile Center removed existing carpeting and old wood flooring and installed new wood floors throughout and refinished the front staircase to match. We decided to hire the Tile Center based on our overall positive experience with them on other projects and we are so glad we did. Wow!!! What a difference- it looks like a totally different home. From the very beginning when we spoke with Amir and Joe, they provided us with many options and styles and even explained the differences with all of the wood types and how they are manufactured along with durability information. In the end we decided on canadian maple wood flooring and it is beautiful. The installation team was excellent and neat. Overall, we are so happy we decided to change out our existing old worn out flooring and replace it with canadian maple. The Tile Center is really an excellent choice for those looking to remodel. They have a highly professional team who really cares about their workmanship and ensuring you are satisfied with the outcome.

We decided to freshen up our kitchen with a tile backsplash and really didn't have to think too hard in terms of who to use to perform the work. We were so pleased with the work done in our master bathroom by the Tile Center that we decided to move forward with tile around the kitchen backsplash and even tiled around our fireplace. We looked at many tiles and patterns and finally came upon a distinctive look from the Amir collection. Joe came to our house and measured the areas we wanted done and the installation was performed by Thomas, & Antonio and Fred handled most of the finishing touches. The work was neat and well done. The four of them are friendly, polite and extremely professional. We are so happy we decided to do this as our kitchen looks totally updated and modernized. Great work by the Tile Center.

I had hired Tile Center to install a backsplash and tile flooring in a kitchen about 8 years ago, and I was so happy with the workmanship that we hired them again to install hardwood floors. The flooring is beautiful, the crew was very skilled, professional and helpful, and Eddie, who coordinated the project, was very friendly, helpful, and involved in making sure we got what we wanted. He made suggestions for how to make both projects beautiful, and they are. After 8 years the tile is still terrific. One added bonus of the hardwood floors that I hadn't thought about is that the crew made sure the subfloor is in good shape, so now we no longer have creaky floors. Tile Center even installed a new toilet and vanity in our bathroom. All of this, and the negotiated price was lower than other estimates we received. We're so happy with everything we're working with Eddie again to get an estimate to re-tile two bathrooms!

The bathroom is beautiful. We had some challenges but at the end the bathroom was beautiful. It took them a long time to finish it but the final product was really good.

They didn’t quite understand my kitchen. The design they provided didn’t give me much confidence that they could do the job for my kitchen. The person that came out was fine. It took a while to get the design back to me and I had to contact them a few times to get the design.

Provider came out and was disappointed he wasn't getting a bigger job. He disparaged the work we had already done and tried to talk my wife into giving them more work than what we had requested. He said he would provide a quote later that day. Two days later and he still hadn't provided a quote. We found another provider on our own that we are very satisfied with.

It was a very good experience. It was a very creative design. She was very nice.

The guy who came out, seemed like he was very inexperienced. He made some suggestions and absolutely made no sense. The weeks went by and I got no response from them. Finally, after six weeks I called them and they threw something together like overnight & sent me an email. By then, I had already contacted another company and decided to go with them. The design was adequate; but to me on paper, it didn't make a lot of sense. The company I went with, everything came out perfect. Tile Center never responded with the design. I had to call them and that was 6 weeks later. I got the email next day. The person seemed like he was thinking out loud.

I scheduled an appointment online from their website, they called me soon afterwards to confirm appointment time and to ask if I already had an idea of what I wanted to bring proper samples. Very happy with the final result. I was originally trying to get hardwood because I like the style, but not so sure about putting that in the kitchen, it can get messy and hardwood needs maintenance. That's when they told me about ceramic tile that look like hardwood, getting the best of both worlds. Because I didn't hear about that before i requested the salesperson to showed me a sample, and that was it. Also I got carpet tile (commercial grade) for where I have the little office, works great, easy to clean, short pile so the wheels of the chair don't have any problem while moving, and the best part, it matches the color my new tile floor, so the transition is smooth. Installers did a great job, they were done after 3 days (maybe faster if I wasn't leaving in a apartment 3rd level). Mr Kim the supervisor was around every now and then to make sure everything everything was under control.

It was not so good. I was expecting a little bit more detail in terms of what kind of plans they provided, the estimates they gave and the work they wanted to do. There was no extra charge. The deal was for a bathroom remodel plan including a 3-D drawing but what I got was a little less than what I expected in terms of design plans. They just basically drew the bathroom I had as opposed to a possible remodel. I was a little disappointed.

This was a big job, which we accomplished over the course of a couple of months. There are inevitable glitches in jobs this big, and we were very impressed with the responsiveness, professionalism and promptness with which Tile Center dealt with these kinds of things. Our salesman, Tushar Irani, was wonderful -- both when he was helping us in the show room to choose countertop, backsplash tiles, and floor tiles, and also as the job was underway -- he checked in personally many times to see how things were going, to answer questions, and to arrange for specialists when necessary (for example, we had a carpenter from Tile Center come to make sure the wood on a step down from our kitchen to family room was restored properly after some accidental damage during the installation of the kitchen floor tile). There were definitely some periods when we could not use our kitchen, but we fully expected that. We are extremely pleased with the results. No detail was left unaddressed and the professionals dealing with us at each stage were knowledgeable, polite, and efficient.

I was going to add a separate bath and use this deal but I decided I'm not going to.

I have a very small bathroom. The tile floor is probably just about 4ft x 4ft. And he tiled around the sink and toilet. He did a great job, but $879 for that small of a space is a bit much. Great quality. He even came back when my floor settled a bit and some of the grout loosened. Very responsive. Great service. Would work with them again.

I called Eddie at the Tile Center based on reviews in Angie's list. While setting up the initial visit for an estimate, he kept trying to convince me how great his company was. At my property, I had to repeat myself over and over on what I wanted them to do, which was a complete remodel of my bathroom. He seemed uncomfortable with some aspects of the job (like removing existing wall paper), and didn't seem to want to do a whole remodel. After I got the estimate, I asked if he could break out the costs like other contractors did, but he refused, only giving me one bottom number to compare. When I pushed for more detail, he got angry and told me to use someone else - which I'm doing. Completely unprofessional - I don't understand their ratings being so high.

Eddie is really knowledgeable and responsive if you can get past what I would call culturally influenced pushiness. Some time has passed and now I believe I will call him again for another job. We had a unique problem during the build - we had sheets of small tiles but some we thought were defective. Though it was a big pain in the neck for them to pick through the tiles and pull certain ones out of the sheets or off the walls, they returned to the job for as long as it took. They did everything possible to make us happy and in the end we still are. I do not believe the installer is an employee of tile center but he did decent work overall. I recommend them but you have to look past the way folks from that part of the world can come across. I'm only talking of the folks in their showroom. The installer was the opposite, very patient, never showed frustration that things needed to be redone.

They came out before doing the work on the tub and they provided us on an estimate for an entire bathroom remodel. We hired them for the complete remodel. They completed the work in about three weeks. There were a couple of hiccups throughout the process, but overall, it was not a bad experience. They cleaned up well after the job was complete. Everything worked out fine.

My wife and I researched Angie's List prior to talking with any contractors for our project. We found the Tile Center in Gaithersburg, MD had received very good reviews, so we started there. We met with Eddie at the Tile Center who was very helpful and patient with us, helping us try different combinations of flooring and granite. We liked a couple different combinations, but we weren't sure how they'd go with our cabinets, so he let us take home all of the samples. We also had Home Depot & Lowes price out our jobs, and while they came a little less, they were subcontracting out some of the work which we didn't like. We wanted the contractors to be employees of the company we were hiring so there would be one responsible party we were dealing with. We decided that Eddie would be that guy.We then had Eddie arrange a meeting time for the Tile Center to come to the house for measurements so they could give us some estimates. After a little negotiating, we agreed on a total price and scheduled some installation dates. Eddie oversaw the project, and his crews were very professional, polite, and treated our home with care. They were efficient and clean, and we are extremely happy with the final results.I would absolutely recommend Eddie and the Tile Center.

Eddie and the Tile Center have become my gold standard for quality and customer service. When we began the remodel of our first two bathrooms in 2013, my husband and I spent several days visiting tile stores in the Rockville area. Nothing compared to the quality, price, knowledge and no-pressure support of the Tile Center. Eddie spent hours helping us consider various options, letting us borrow tiles to check them out at home, making suggestions while respecting our own sense of style and budget. His experience helped us select tiles and materials, such as porcelain tile and Quartzlock grout, which are beautiful and nearly maintenance free unlike other stores which often urged us to upgrade beyond our budget and/or use stone which needs to be sealed and requires more maintenance that I am interested in. Eddie felt more like a wise friend than a salesperson which is amazing given that all we were buying at the time was tiles, grout and thresholds. Neither he nor the Tile Center stood to make a lot of money off our purchase. But he still treated us with respect and gave us all the time in the world. The selection, quality and price at Tile Center also stood out among the stores we visited. When we decided to remodel the master bath in preparation to sell our home in 2014, the original contractor/tile provider recommended by our realtor was clearly on a different page than we were. Once again, we turned to Eddie and the Tile Center. He immediately helped us choose beautiful tiles and a style within our budget. When we needed to change contractors at the last minute, Eddie was able to arrange for their crew to come to our house in less than 10 days and everything was completed within a week. All the workers were professional, meticulous, careful to keep everything clean and neat during the work and at the end of the day. They were great to have around. Mr. Kim, the supervisor, stopped by at least twice a day to check in and make sure that everything was going well and up to high standards. Eddie also came by to visit multiple times to personally insure that we were satisfied. The tile installation is amazing! My mother-in-law calls it a work of art, and friends and visitors have pulled out their phones to take pictures. The two gentlemen working on it were meticulous and used a level at every point to make sure that the lines were even and that the tile set evenly into the wall. After the project was completed, Eddie even sent someone out to install a new extended shower arm without extra charge even though it was a change from the original design. I can't recommended Eddie, the Tile Center and their crew highly enough. If you are considering remodeling your bathroom, please stop by and give them a chance to impress you.

Start to finish was excellent. I was impressed by their knowledge, professionalism and quality of work. We got a good deal on the tile because of an Angie's List deal. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, although not sure I can afford them without a good deal on clearance tile.

We identified the Tile Center through Angie's List based on their positive reviews. Eddie was very nice and professional, and he worked with our budget to ensure we got the kitchen backsplash we wanted without breaking the bank. Dennis finished a job early and was able to start on our project a day before previously planned. Dennis took care to protect the areas of our home that he would be walking though, and he cleaned up extremely well after the 2 days that he was here. The quality of his work was spectacular. We will absolutely consider doing work with the Tile Center again for future projects!
