Tile Center

I am very hands-off as I was at work during most of the work. Tile Center respected my home, cleaned up after themselves, and did a great job. They were timely and did what they said they would do. It cost a bit more than I wanted, but, in hindsight, I am glad that I spent a bit more to get such great results.

The service provided was fair according to the fine print. What I thought I bought was drawings that could be used to comparison shop, what I got was dimensionless drawings that were only good for a basic visualization of the project. I equally blame the company and Angie's List for my misunderstanding.

I purchased a deal from Angie's List for kitchen design and estimate. Almost as soon as I purchased the deal, Anthony gave me a call to set up an appointment. During that time, we went over in detail what my fiance and I are looking for in a new kitchen. Three men arrived at our house for the appointment on the scheduled date (slightly late, but they called to inform us). They were very polite and professional. They immediately got to measuring while Anthony discussed the options that my fiance and I have for our 1961 kitchen. We set up an appointment that day for a time in the future to go over the new designs and finishing options. The day we checked out the designs they were still very professional and timely. The pretty much showed us exactly what we were looking for and explained to us in detail the process and pricing. The services we purchased were complete, and we plan to get our kitchen remodeled sometime next year through the Tile Center. The fact that they were so knowledgeable and professional was a seller. They also didn't try to sell us anything we didn't want and they are respectful of our budget. We are very happy with the Tile Center and look forward to having our kitchen remodeled with them next year!

The service and attention were GREAT!!!

They started when promised, dismantled our entire bathroom, did the demolition and added a beautifully tiled shower.......then the problems began. The shower door ordered was too small. When they tried to install it - it was obvious the shower door would not allow a regular sized adult to walk through. A new shower door had to be ordered and therefore installed - meanwhile we went another 2 weeks without a bathroom. The project manager finally got around to putting our plumbing in. The new shower door did arrive and was installed - however, they did not measure correctly for the new medicine cabinet.....therefore we waited for a new cabinet and for a new dry wall installer to change the original dry wall to prepare for the new cabinet......more waiting. When they did get around to installing the cabinet and completing the dry wall, they did not re-mud the entire room (which they should have to make it paint ready) - they just re-mudded up to the new drywall - left the old hanging out there....and patched what they needed to poorly. When we went to paint, the old paint peeled off, the new drywall showed huge seams where it was joined with the old and where it was patched.....and looked awful. We had to pay an extra $400 to have the entire room re-mudded and painted so that it looked presentable. The entire job took more than 6 weeks. Basically, the Tile Center (Joe was our manager) did a very bad job of managing the project. They did not take careful enough measurements at the beginning and did not talk to all the people involved to get an appropriate scope of the work. The tile work was beautiful - but the rest of the work left such a bad taste in our mouth....not sure we would ever even call them to re-tile something. Not recommending these guys unless you can manage the project yourself - and only use them to tile something.

They were quick to respond to the request to explore having a shower installed where my bathtub was. The designer and salesperson took time with me when designing and planning the shower. Wished the border had been lower in the shower but because I was not at home when they were doing the work it was already done when I saw it. They usually left the area clean and tidy but because I was in a condo building where they had to get permissions to turn water off etc. the project took much longer than I had planned. If you choose to use the grout that does not stain that has to sit for one week so those sort of pieces of information were not shared prior to beginning the project. Since it is not my line of work, I did not have a clue about those kinds of nuances in the project. The end product is very nice.... just be prepared for a longer perod of time then they say and I would encourage you to have someone present when they are working.

I am very pleased with the work done by the Tile Center. Frank provided a fair estimate of the price and the final price came in lower than the estimate. The workers came on time every day and I received daily updates of the work to be performed the following day. I recommend the Tile Center without reservation.

I really like them. We haven't decided to go ahead with them but right now it was terrific. It was timely. The guy who attended to us was patient, he went into some great detail about explaining to us what we could do with the kitchen. my wife and i went out there, we were both delighted. We got a very good designe, very great price. So far, top of the line.

We took advantage of Tile Center's free kitchen consultation and design through Angie's List, and have been very impressed with their courtesy, helpfulness, punctuality, professionalism, and friendliness, not to mention their flexibility in scheduling follow-up meetings. Yes, we would recommend them heartily, based on our experience so far. We've put down $1500 to enable them to order cabinets, but I haven't judged them on price because we're still negotiating. We like their long-term view of customer relationships, though; they don't want us to feel that they sold us anything we don't need and would have trouble affording. We're still swamped with private school and college tuition debt from having 3 kids with learning issues, and we can't justify spending more than we need for decent quality. It's been nice working with people who understand that and are fine with it.

We had our Kitchen and Bathrooms Remodeled a few years ago and I stopped in to talk to them about one of the sinks that had some crack lines in the porcelain. Joe came by to check and said that it was past the warranty time but he would see what he could do. He called me back and said that the Owner wanted to replace that sink for us and asked if there was anything else they could do for us. I told him one of the Cabinet drawers was out of alignment. He said he would take care of that also. They sent over the Technician and he did a great job. It pays to have work done by a company that stands by their work!

They were prompt, very professional, and I was very pleased with the work.

Went there to order backspash. When it came up to find out pricing, sales man gave us a price and them I asked for the 10% discount. He told me it was better than the 10% discount from Angie's List and that he was not making any money on the deal. After thinking about it, we did order the tile but we had another bid out there for a glass shower door, and we decided to go elsewhere.

I visited the Tile Center to obtain a design for a remodel of my kitchen. There I was referred to a designed named Vivi. My husband and I stayed there for quite some time going over the design details, the pictures of my kitchen that I had brought with me, design ideas, and choosing cabinets, tiles and countertops. We scheduled a home visit for measurements. That was followed by another visit to Tile Center to make changes and then another home visit to take more measurements and make changes. Many of the changes were brought on by Vivi's unfamiliarity with the cabinet line. During this time, I received a design and a quote, but there were several problems with it that needed correction, changes and additions. This required another visit to Tile Center, an appointment that I had to cancel. Then Vivi seemed to fall off the face of the earth. She never returned my call. I never heard from her again. No one from the Tile Center ever contacted me. I heard from a friend of mine who had been working with Vivi also that she had started working with another designer. I called Tile Center and spoke with the manager or owner and explained my problem. I asked for another designer, which he assigned to me. The new designer came to my home to remeasure and assured me that the design and quote would be ready in a few days. I called the following week and it was not ready. I called the week after that and it was still not ready. I have not heard anything since then and I have given up on the Tile Center. I am very disappointed in the Tile Center, especially since it is so highly rated on Angies's List. Response to comments: In its response to my review of its unsatisfactory performance, Tile Center misrepresented some of the facts. For instance, when the new designer came to my home to remeasure, he was not left alone in my kitchen. I was there with him at all times and ready to answer any questions, if he had asked them. Further, They gave no explanation why Vivi disappeared and why the second designer never contacted me after the initial visit to my home, despite my calls to the store. Finally, I did not change the direction of the design, but only made minor changes that any designer should have been able to absorb, if she was familiar with the products, which, in this case, Vivi did not appear to be.

They were very interactive, and aiming to please the customer.

They did what was advertised & spent a fair amount of time with us. They looked professional & took the measurements. However, they didn't show us the designs we expected - It seemed they didn't take into consideration some of what we said wanted. The design we got back seemed more out of stock than custom to our request. I would if the price was right & they were able to do what I wanted.

Excellent, Anthony showed up on time & was very personable. He asked us what we wanted, what Tile Center could do & how the process works. There was no pressure to spend more than we wanted.

Great experience from tile selection to final inspection. I would recommend them to anyone.

Demolition and building took longer than expected. Carpentry work was excellent. Planning sessions were very responsive.

They seemed nice and were courteous. However, the big deal didn't cover everything needed. The deal was very limited. The estimate I got would have been another $5150 in addition to $2350 that I already purchased. They said that it was like a boutique and everything was a la carte. I felt that the deal was false advertisement.

The first service agent we spoke was very pleasant and accommodating we liked him a lot. Once we purchased the coupon we worked with a different service agent who tried to offer us different tile and was less curtious and professional. Overall everything went ok and the final product was good.

Both of the men we worked with were just fabulous. The final estimate ended up being rather more than we're able to swing at this point, but the plans were great.

They showed on time and met my schedule and the gentleman was very nice.He was supposed to get back to me in 2 weeks and I had to call to ask over 4 weeks later for an update.They seem swamped with doing kitchen designs based on the offer on Angie's list.I have not seen anything and he need 10 more days.So other than slow they were professional.I don't know what to think yet.Nothing to go on at this point.
