Tile Center

It went very well. They stayed within the schedule, even with the changes I made. They were very customer friendly. Everything I ever wanted or changed, they did it with no problem and for the most part at no extra cost. They were very respectful of the premises and of us, the owners, of the home. They were very careful not to spread dust and protected everything from catching it. They sent skilled workers for every aspect that needed done. The work was absolutely beautiful. They even gave me a spa gift certificate!

On the day that the job was supposed to start, we got a call that the shower pan was not in. This is a rental home, so we had made the trip all the way there and waited until we finally heard that. After that, the installation proceeded more or less on schedule except for one additional day where they said they would be there and never showed up (again - special trip made to sit there to finally hear that). Instead of 7 days, it took 11 days - but we are pleased with the results. After the second no-show, they sent a very punctual, very good person who finished every beautifully.

Anthony and his kitchen planner communicated well, were timely, and provided updates on the process. They provided helpful recommendations on how to improve the project. Their estimate was about $15,000 for a 12 x 12 remodel, including minor associated work in an adjacent hallway. For reasons unassociated with Tile Center, I decided to delay my project for about 9-12 months. I will likely use Tile Center when I conduct this remodel in the near future.

Went well. Providers were professional and pleasant and responsive to changes.

It was ridiculous. The gentleman that they sent out from Tile Center was not from here so it could have been a communication gap, I'm not sure. He was so intent on selling me everything and the kitchen but what I had paid for. I even called the company to ask if I could apply what I had purchased from Angie's List which is what I wanted to have done. It was for a 3 foor square shower and obviously the tub is bigger than that, they said that I could. When I talked to to him, I was only going to get a $60 out of the thousand of dollars that I paid for and I was not getting any of the credit for the other $2900. I was just outraged that I thought it was very poorly represented and I was not pleased, Angie's List was very prompt at refunding my money. I will never use them again.

The whole project went very well and we were very pleased with the results.

They were professional and drawings were well done. I did not go through with their services because the design and materials were somewhat conventional. I was looking for something more innovative.

We're still in negotiation/planning the new remodel.

I had two other companies come out and give me estimates that were a lot lower in price. Even with the big deal price they are still expensive. Very nice people but price was just high.

All in all. I was really bummed about how this project went. This was a small job. But we have a much larger bathroom to renovate next and we were using this renovation as a test project (carrot) for The Tile Center. They failed. We informed The Tile Center multiple times that if they did a great job, the larger job was theirs. This didn't seem to incent them to do good work. Bottom line: The tile work was beautiful but their attention to detail on everything else was terrible. - Our new sink began leaking after they left because they didn't use teflon tape. - They left 2 giant sharp screws sticking out of our vanity. - They don't do painting which is a giant pain for the owner as you need to touch things up behind them AFTER everything has been installed... (It's generally easier to paint before you install fixtures and cabinetry..) - They left an electrical wire outside of the light fixture they installed. - The medecine cabinet was installed with a scratch in it. We have no idea if they scratched it or if it was scratched at the factory. But either way, they didn't notice it and it became our problem to solve. - They caulked in some areas but not others... - They removed our shoe moulding (per our request) but didn't address damage done by this process...That was probably left for the painter to solve. - They damaged a door in the process which we had them come back to repair. The labor cost + tile was 3400 but we easily spent another 3500 in materials that we bought on our own. Oh and we didn't even do anything to our shower tile or shower tub. We are reasonable people. We understand that sometimes things go wrong. But the mistakes made were so stupid and so obvious, you have to wonder if these guys can handle bigger jobs well. I was incredibly disappointed with how things went and won't work with them again. it's fine now and looks good but that's after all parties involved had to waste a TON of time backtracking to make it right. Doing things once and right is not their style. Skip 'em if you can.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was not a great plan at all. The 3-D drawings were completely out of scale. It wasn't worth the money. They were nice and I had no problem with the people individually but the drawings were nothing I could take to the bank. I was expecting real drawings; these were something I would see at a big box store. It wasn't a great value. It doesn't make me feel like I want to go with them. I am experienced and have built many homes. This is not something I could pass on to go through the bidding process.

Purchased a Big deal for Tile Center. They came to the house to get information to design a kitchen remodel. It took awhile for them to get the design completed. When I went to the showroom to get my design they was going to get me a final design also which I haven't gotten it. They had a very nice showroom to display materials. This was nice to see items in person and not just in a magazine.

I did not choose them in the end due to cost and financing.

I’ve wanted to take a wall out in my kitchen. I was looking for a design for removing the wall so I purchased this deal. He did provide a design but it was the most basic of design. It only had the wall removed and no other updates. He did what he was supposed to do but it was lacking details. He was very polite, courtesy and arrived on time.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. We worked with Anthony and he was very nice to work with. We didn't get to keep the sketches. We got the 2-D ones but that didn't really help too much. They wouldn't give us the measurements. Basically they were trying to win our business by giving us ideas but they didn't come up with anything new that we didn't already do. It seemed like we got what we paid for instead of it being a great deal. Their prices were pretty good for what I know about kitchen remodels. They are someone we will consider for the remodel.

The designer is very cooperative and helpful with design. May have workable plans thought hard to tell until the job is done. Enjoyed their flexibility to work with us since I was off quite a bit.

3-D design only, no measurements, hence design is of limited utility for product and installation price comparison purposes with other suppliers, contractors, etc. Available cabinet selections limited to tradtional designs, no modern, sleek types available for viewing. Budget provided if Tile Center chosen as supplier/contractor, which is good for comparison purposes and to determine approximate overall amount needed for project. Professional design service by highly competent and service-oriented staff. Provision of services from initial survey on 02/27 to showing at store on 04/22.

We made an appointment for a Saturday and the company was 45 minutes late. When I was finally able to see some samples, I wasn't happy with what I saw. I also went to their location to meet someone there and when I arrived he was not there. The other person I met with was not that impressive. Overall, I got the impression that they weren't forthcoming to me, and didn't care to do the job well, so I'm getting a refund.

Overall I was very happy. I have no experience with tile, but the price seemed fair for quality work and they were able to come at a time that was convenient for me. I would suggest telling the installers before they start where you want the pattern to start (where you want full tiles to start vs. where you want the partial/cut tiles to end). I emphasize that this was my own fault because I did not specify and it wasn't the way I assumed it would be, but it does look beautiful, it's just a personal preference, and I did not ask them to redo it. The only negative was I got kind of tired of the sales guy telling me what a good deal I was getting. Beautiful quality work and the show room has an enormous selection. If you cannot decide on tile, they have very helpful, knowledgable people there. I would definitely use them again, if I needed another tile guy.

They were very responsive and helpful with ideas for the bathroom remodel. Everything they did was very professional. We decided we were uncertain if we want to continue with a complete remodel or not. We decided to get a refund but would consider them if we decide with the remodel.

The work was good but the sales person was a bad communicator so it made the processes very confusing and difficult. The installer was great, very flexible and worked with my schedule.

Everything went very well. In addition to preparing the drawing, they prepared a detailed estimate of what it would cost to implement the plan.

There were some communication issues, but this was partly because the property is a rental and it had a lot of people in the mix.

They were very efficient and came on time. The only problem we had was waiting on some of the materials, which was fine. The project was completed over the course of a month. They were very clean and cleaned up after themselves everyday. They also put down covering so they didn't dirty the carpet or other areas of the home.

If Angie's List allows me to update this review, I will provide comments on the actual kitchen renovation.
