- He told me the new billing system for the company is built to itemize everything so the price goes up, but he was going to give me a good deal and helped drop my bill from 750 to 500 - I asked him to clean my water heater tank but he said it was not cleaned in two years so he could not, but he wrote down the "numbers" and charged me anyways - I asked him to look over some plumbing work a different plumber did and he looked for 15 seconds and charged me $120 - He snaked two drains but one of them is still really slow Epic fail; and why did I pay for Angie's List? I've found better people on my own.

The gentlemen were prompt, very respectful, putting booties n their shoes before they came in. They installed the toilet and everything was great.

After reading all the good reviews on Stang Plumbing I was confident that they would be able to resolve my sewer line backup issue. Instead, my experience with Stang was very different. I cannot express how disappointed I am in the lack of quality of their service staff. After spending over $1,500.00 to have them repair a sewer backup in my home, they were unable to complete the repair. In addition, to having to find someone else to fix the sewer line backup, I had numerous other problems as a result of their work that I had to find someone else to correct. Including repairing walls that they cut out and repairing water pipes they shook loose from the vibrations of the drain snake they used. This was one of my worst experiences working with a plumbing company. They seemed more concern with wasting time running up an enormous bill than correcting my sewer problem.

The actual work went fine. The plumber was a friendly, punctual and professional. He installed a new shut off valve, flush valve kit, and new hose bib vacuum breaker in under an hour. I don't have any complaints about the work. I do think the prices are a bit steep. The cost to replace the hose bib vacuum breaker seemed a bit high. Then again I don't have to call a plumber very often so the prices could be in line with everyone else. I haven't had any issues since the service call so I can't complain. My real issue is with responsiveness. During the service call I spoke with the plumber about some additional work that I needed. I showed him the issue and then asked for a quote. He told me he needed to speak with the office first and would get back to me with a quote. When I didn't hear anything I followed up a few days later. It turns out they had my old phone number. (No big deal) I gave the receptionist my number and she told me someone would contact me within the next day or two. Several days more passed and still no phone call. I called again. The receptionist read the notes on the ticket which stated that I needed a quote. She told me that someone would call me by the end of the day. It's now been several days and still nothing. I'm not going to bother following up again. I'm in the process of contacting other plumbing companies now. If I could pass along some advice it would be to follow up with customers - even if it's to say you're busy. I can understand someone being tied up due to unexpected events. If someone had contacted me with an explanation, I would've been understanding. At this point I'm ready to move on.

had issues with replacement and hooking up electrical part--either do the whole job or not at all, had to get another subcontractor involved and they found it had not been installed totally correct. several return trips got it right

Stang was great. I was able to make a same-day appointment, and the scheduler helpfully called before they arrived. (This is key -- many utility companies, etc., SAY they're going to call but never actually do. Stang did, meaning I was able to stay at work until I absolutely needed to be home to meet them.) The two gentlemen who came were both professional and exceptionally good-natured. I felt like my poor garbage disposal and pipes were in competent hands. They ended up needing to use their 35' snake twice to clear out all the gunk that had built up in the pipes. (I'm blaming our house's previous owner.) They thoroughly tested the water and the disposal to make sure it was truly fixed before leaving. It wasn't cheap, but I felt confident in the quality of their service. So the value was definitely there!

Guys arrived with in a few minutes of appointment time. Luckily the fix was easy and didn't require a replacement of disposal. They showed me how to fix next time it happen's. Guys were honest and did not try to up sell me on anything.

John did a fantastic job of fixing the issues. The trap pipe underneath the kitchen sink was leaking. He was able to identify the problem quickly and able to fix it. He also looked an outside faucet that was leaking, identified the issue, and fix the leak by installing a new part. He was professional and provided a thorough explanation of the issues and how they best could be repaired. I've had Stang come a few other times, and I have to say that they have always been professional, courteous and provided top notch repairs.

Jon was great. He quickly identified the issue and completed the repair. He then checked to make sure there was nothing else causing the problem. He was friendly and very professional. He fully explained the repair he completed and why a problem had developed.

Very well. John and Joe were great. I will call them again next time I need a plumber.

We had a bad stoppage in a drain pipe. The plunger was no help at all, so we called Stang Plumbing to schedule an emergency service. The work was performed quickly and I was given useful information in the process. I will not hesitate to use Stang Plumbing again.

Everything was done extremely well. John and Joe were extremely knowledgeable, effective and quick in all they did, and a pleasure to be around. They took the time to give us a whole range of tips that will help us a lot (eg for avoiding frozen pipes in the winter). For what they did, the cost was very reasonable. We will always use Stang Plumbing from now on.

honestly, i felt that I was misdiagnosed, at least give me a courtesy call and let me know whats going on, it was very price, not a very routine call for my wallet. i did not want to give me the 10% off for Al members. he did help me out on the 4th of july, but he charged me double and it was VERY PRICEY.

STang plumber arrived on time. HE was courteous and professional. He explained what needed to be done, gave me options and completed the work . What a great experience. I am so happy!

I had a heater flush by another provider. We were having issues with the heater providing sufficient heat and I mentioned this. The plumber who came out tested the heating elements, the upper one was out. All things considered the heater itself was in excellent shape, no corrosion, no external damage, but the immediate recommendation was to replace the heater. I didn't want to commit to that, I proceeded later that day to call the manufacturer of the heater, Rudd, and they told me that replacing the elements was common, you could get the necessary components at Home Depot, and if the heater was in good shape that this was a good thing to do. Mind you, I talked to at least five different plumbers, 4 out of 5 recommended replacing the heater, one was happy to go along with the components and that was Stang. Don't ask me why I didn't post something earlier, I was curious to see if I had put something up and I discovered that I hadn't. Between dealing with a basement flooding and subsequent repair this must have gotten lost in the insanity during this time. Stand was on top of the job, didn't give me any guff about "You really should replace the heater and we'd be happy to work with you on that", though I'm confident that if that was what I wanted that would be what was done as they came across and were without question totally professional and on top of the job. Good experience overall and they saved me the cost of a new heater. Here it is about nine months after the fact the thing works great, I'm happy, my family is happy and we have hot water when we need it in the amount that we need.

Stang plumbers Louis and Chris arrived exactly as scheduled. I showed them the leaky exterior faucet and bathtub fixtures and they started right to work. They were careful to put on shoe protectors whenever they came into the house. The new tub fixtures look great. They asked if I wanted to upgrade the exterior faucet to one which is frost-proof and quarter-turn (easier to turn on and off), and I agreed. It required a little extra time, but was worth it. It is a huge improvement over the old one! They caulked around fixtures to prevent water leakage and exterior exposure. I have used Stang Plumbing for plumbing services several times and have always been pleased with their promptness, quality of work, and professionalism.

Seriously,it couldn't have been better. The plumber from Stang Plumbing & Heating located in Gaithersburg, MD was named John, which is easy for me to remember, especially because that's my name, too. I'm not crazy about that name, but I like John the plumber a lot. I had read previous reviews of Stang Plumbing, some of which mentioned John by name and praised him very highly. I agree completely with those reviews. John called half an hour before he came and arrived exactly on time. He is a handsome young man; very polite and courteous, and a very good plumber. He put covers on his shoes when he came in the house. I told him that wasn't necessary, but he insisted he didn't want to risk tracking in dirt. Although we chatted while he was working, he never stopped working. My wife and I both like him a lot, and are both very happy with the work he did and the new faucet he installed. I certainly will use Stang Plumbing & Heating in the future; however, when I asked about their plumbing services he said that it is also excellent, but they do not do all types of HVAC, so be specific about that. I give John and Stang the highest of recommendations.

They were great, one time, reasonably priced & professional will hire again.

Scheduling the appointment was easy& we were phoned when crew on the way. Two men arrived, donned shoe covers when entering the house (removed when they had to go to truck for additional supplies then reapplied at front door). It was a more difficult project than originally thought taking about 2.5 hrs but they successfully completed it, checked to make sure there were no leaks then cleaned up their work areas. They were polite, professional and neat.

Did not use as they quoted $180 hourly rate with $40 deducted or the coupon from what ever the total bill would have been had they performed the service I wanted I should have read the fine print -- my bad. They seem expensive and since I did not use them, rated them a C for price and N/A over all to be fair.

Quick, professional service.

I am very pleased with the service. Just before noon I realized that my HWH was not working. After checking it and looking at the Owner's Manual I had a pretty good idea what was wrong. I started calling local firms on AL to see who had availability today. I narrowed it down to 3 firms that could send a tech in the afternoon. I anticipated that if they arrived late in the afternoon and did not have the correct part, the HWH would not get fixed until tomorrow. The first 2 firms were not interested in my diagnosis and said that they needed to send a plumber to make their own diagnosis. One of the firms was actually indignant that I would have presumed to know what was wrong with my HWH. Although the guy at Stang Plumbing was apprehensive about bringing the part I thought needed to be replaced, he agreed to have the tech pick it up when he was on the way. The office called to let me know about 30 minutes prior to arrival and when the tech arrived he quickly diagnosed the problem and installed the part that he picked up. He completed the job in less than 30 minutes. I have not used a plumber in years and I was somewhat surprised that the labor charge was $189 which was for an hour and I assume is their minimum. The part was an additional $177. They accepted a printed-out AL coupon for $15 for a total of $351.I never asked any of the firms for pricing and I assume that the charges are not out of the ordinary. Overall the experience was very good. They were responsive, competent and resolved the issue quickly. I would use them in the future for any necessary projects.

This was a big deal purchase. It was fine. They could have improved on the amount of time it took to do it and so the amount of time I had to stick around the house. They were slow and could have been faster. Their price was good. What stood out most was the result. The price was a bit higher than I expected.
