The work was completeled promptly and in less than 3 hours (probably too fast, since materials did not have time to dry before being painted), however less than 1 week later the same ceiling showed cracking, water damage signs showed through the new paint, paint on the patched drywall started peeling, and ultimately approximately 2/3 of the ceiling actually collapsed. To his credit, Mr. Baron did respond quickly to my calls the day that the ceiling collapsed. He examined the damage and we agreed to re-evaluate any new potential water damage. It was determined that the original leak was in fact resolved and there was no new water leak since the repairs. Upon further examination, it appeared that Scorpion Group did not repair the ceiling appropriately, however Mr. Baron refused to claim any responsibility for the ceiling falling. Nor did he offer to stand behind his company's shoddy work. He did not offer to repair the damage correctly for the price he had originally quoted ($750). It appears that the only repairs completed were patching a small area of drywall (< 6 inches in diameter) and repaint over the water damaged material. Although I am no contractor, it seems evident to me that a damaged ceiling cannot simply be repaired by repainting it. After both my husband and I attempted to discuss the situation with Mr. Baron in a constructive manner, we were unsuccessfull. Ultimately, we renegotiated a lower price for the inadequate job already done so that we could cut our losses and move on without any further dealings with Mr. Baron. We chose not to have the Scorpion Group do any more repairs at our property. We have also notified our condo association's management company to use caution when considering the Scorpion Group for any further work in the building.
