The service went very well. We have been using them for several years.

They were a little sloppy. They responded pretty quickly. I have a service contract with them but I wouldn't use them again to replace my heating. They could've have told me that they were not doing anything new with the furnace.

I purchased the $105 Angie's Big Deal for the 16-point furnace check and cleaning. I had to postpone my original appointment at the last minute, so I was very appreciative that Rod Miller Heating and Air Conditioning Company called me this morning to reschedule and was able to accommodate an appointment today. I was slightly caught off guard though when I was told that the only available time was this afternoon (closer to 4pm), but the person who checked the furnace actually called round 11am and said he was 30-45 minutes away. All's well that ends well though because I finished up my morning appointment in enough time to get back home. He immediately asked me to turn on the heat and did not mention my concern about the burning smell. When I did bring it up, he sounded like he was surprised to hear about it, so he had me turn on the A/C. He said he didn't see anything out of the ordinary, and also went outside to check the A/C unit and saw nothing there either. As it turns out, I think this may have been a situation where the filter was the culprit, but there isn't any way that I would know because he didn't really confirm or deny that. After checking the A/C, he had me turn the heat back on again. He continued to check the furnace, and said that he did not see anything out of the ordinary and that everything looked fine, but that some part of the furnace seemed to be running a little hot. He didn't say what could have been the problem there either, but just reiterated that everything looked fine. I stayed in the area with him and I did not see him "clean" the furnace. After he finished up, he did change the filter and even marked the direction in which the filter should point because, as I said earlier, that may have been the reason why we had the burning smell. That being said, there is no way that I could confirm or deny that. All in all, I am glad that it appears that the furnace is fine. The Rod Miller employee came early and was efficient, professional and polite. Overall, I am pleased. Because I did not see a cleaning, I give them an overall score of "B," and think that it would be an "A," if there could be step by step explanations as to what the employee is doing ...sort of like a doctor makes sure you are aware of what he is about to do before he is about to do it. I'd still call them for service again.

Very efficient; not anything to do as the furnace is only a couple years old. So, all-in-all good shape. I asked some questions of the contractor and he answered them clearly and effectively. I would use them again for next year's check-up.

I called on Friday before noon and someone came on Monday. Waiting in the heat was unpleasant but my biggest problem is that I was charged $181.00 for a part that is $8 online (the most I could find it for was $30). I understand mark-up but this is outrageous and did not include the additional $115.00 for service (and another charge for freon). When I realized this after looking at the capacitor, I left a message asking for resolution but my call was never returned. I used Rod Miller for many years because I thought they were honest but would not use them again.

It was ok. However, they didn't disclose their fees in relation to a routine maintenance call recently and then when I questioned the fee they were very rude about it. Rude customer service from a company that I have paid lots of money too is something that I do not tolerate. We all make mistakes but there is no need to be rude to your customers whose only offense is to question undisclosed charges.

Great company. I recently joined angie's list and am going out of my way to write this note because I think it is well deserved... I have used rod miller for the past few years on my heating and cooling needs. They have replaced an AC unit, a humidifier, and a circuit board on my furnace. Their guys speak English. Their guys are nice. There guys go in clean. There are no hidden costs or surprises when they're done. They tell you what's up with what's wrong and the price before they do the work. Their service manager, Dave Oristian I think his name was, very efficient. As the owner of a couple of old houses, you need a regular go-to HVAC guy. They are it. Thanks.

Installation went well. The Rod Miller crew included Andrew, Patrick, and Fransico. They were very professional and completed the installation on time. Gas pipe and electrical wiring was extended so the furnace could be rotated and utilized existing PVC piping for the furnace flue. Work also included all sheet-metal, wiring and piping necessary to complete the installation. The old equipment and debris was removed. All work area was clean upon the completion of the installation.

Service person arrived late, after having missed a four-hour window. He was obviously in a hurry, and went through the inspection very quickly. I'd specifically chosen this company because we have a Nest, and I wanted the inspector to look at the thermostat to make sure it was set up correctly. He looked it over very quickly and said it was correct, but couldn't explain to me why the electric heat pump is set to "dual fuel." It didn't leave me with a lot of confidence. That said, the technician did seem to know his stuff. I might use them again if we replace our HVAC unit, but I don't think I'd use them for small tasks.

Let me start by saying that I have never before given an F for providers not showing up and work that wasn't done. But this company really took things to another level. I had called for an appointment from 8-12 on Friday 11/7. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very nice, told me that each system would cost $115 for inspection and I could apply the $25 dollar Angie's List discount. Friday comes and I wait all morning and no one shows up. I call Friday afternoon at around 12:30 and a gentleman answers and says he'll find out why no one showed up and give me a call back. I wait till about 3pm or so, no one's bothered to call me back so I call the office again. I am told that there is no record of me having made an appointment at all! I was upset and asked why the gentleman didn't call me back. I am told that "the office closes at noon for an hour" so the calls are routed to the technician. She apologizes and said this has been an issue. Things happen and the lady is very apologetic so I decide to give this company another chance. I know people are busy and mistakes are made and figure this must be an anomaly due to their great Angie's List reviews. I schedule an appointment for 12-4pm on Thursday 11/13. Once again I wait and wait and no one shows up. I call at about 4:05 and the operator replies that my appointment had been scheduled for Wednesday 11/12 from 12-4 and the technician apparently came by and no one answered! I was shocked - I was traveling on Wednesday 11/12 and would not have scheduled it for then. I asked why no one called when I didn't answer. I was told that they might have tried calling but didn't know for sure. When I asked for the number they had, they quoted a number that was uniformly off by two digits!!! Clearly an entry error. When I complained that this was the SECOND TIME the company had failed to show and that there is a pattern of not entering information correctly into their system re appointments, the lady apologized, but sounded a bit defensive. She said this was the "first time" it had happened. I pointed out that clearly it wasn't the first time as I had called on Friday with a similar complaint. She replied it was her "first time" dealing with me. Hmm...ok? Anyway, she half-heartedly asked if there was anything they could do to remedy the situation. I really wasn't getting the sense that they cared that much about any of this. What's the saying? Fool me once shame on you and fool me twice shame on me? Well no more. I'll find another company to take my business.

Rich was on time and very professional. Rich tested the system and found a crack in the exhaust drain. Leaving water on the inducer causing it to seize up due to age and condition. Rich provided us with serveral options. We could repair the 19 year old system for $1,125.00 or replaced the furnace. We decided to replace the HVAC system, since both the air condition and the furnace was purchased at the same time 19 years ago. We also decided to use Rod Miller for the new HVAC install and schedule an appointment.

He was fantastic. From the moment he walked in I could tell he knew more that the representatives of the other companies that provided my other two estimates. He was through, professional and honest as to what really needs to be done. I plan on using this comapny. I was so impressed by his professionalism and honesty that it merits me writing before I use them.

I have used them twice now and they are a top notch company. Both of the different technicians that have come out have done a great job. I would give them an A+ if I could.

It went very well but I was able to get a cheaper esitmate from another company.

We had a 12 to 4 window, and the technician arrived at 1pm. He assessed the problem and fixed it within an hour. He was polite and friendly and explained his repairs, and was good natured about having to climb through a skylight to access the AC unit. We had a coupon for the service visit, and while the equipment seemed a bit on the expensive side, we were happy with the results. We will likely call them again for future HVAC problems.

In certain places they were excellent. They definitely did some problem solving that was beyond the normal realm of service. We did have a billing issue where they sent me a bill as if I hadn't paid them. Once I called they fixed that right away, though we did have some issues with responsiveness.

We like them. They are good. They have been regularly servicing our furnace every year for a very reasonable price. They kept it running past well as you we have expected. We have recommended them to others who have been apparently satisfied as well. They don’t give you an exact time when they come.
