From the time I called and made my appointment, I was impressed by their courteous and professional demeanor. Kris was able to schedule me in and addressed everything in advance. I knew what to expect and the steps needed to get there.

We have bought & sold several houses before so are definitely not new to being a homeowner. We owned our last home for 15 years & remodeled or replaced everything in it so we?re familiar with this process. While we did know about things we could test ourselves (run the appliances, turn on the AC, test the outlets, flush the toilet) etc., there is no way anyone should buy a house without a home inspection. We were glad we used Dave & I would definitely recommend him. I did not want to use our real estate agent?s recommendation of a home inspector (not that we don?t trust him) but I have heard stories about the home inspector just wanting to pass the house so the real estate agent could get his commission. Being an accountant, I was looking for independent proof - much like having an auditor ? as an independent source of information. Unless your real estate agent?s home inspector is recommended on Angie's also - I would prefer to get my own inspector. We are members of Angie's list because we want an independent analysis. Dave had the most recommendations so that's the reason we went with him. He arrived 20 minutes early & was already looking at the outside of the house when we came. I would highly recommend bringing a notebook & writing down everything he says. I took over 6 pages of notes & there were little things he said that he did not note in the actual report but just told us verbally. Also we brought a 7 page list of things to ask him & made sure he covered all of our questions- he did. Dave was exactly what we were looking for in a home inspector. He covered all the topics & made us aware of a number of issues that need to be repaired or fixed. We are renegotiating the price now because of all of his excellent recommendations. Dave is a little more expensive compared to some others but we feel his service was excellent & would definitely use him again.

It went great. Dave spent several hours in the house, reviewing everything. He walked the house with me and explained what needed to be fixed and why. I can highly recommend using RHS, Inc. for your home inspection.

I contacted RHS Inc. initially by phone and then mostly corresponded via email. RHS was courteous and friendly in all of my dealings with them. The particular builder I was dealing with had some specific requirements for the inspector to meet before they would even confirm the appointment. The builder was requiring 1,000,000 in liability coverage on the insurance certificate which I am told is 4x the required coverage. RHS has done inspections for my particular builder in the past but for some reason the builder was being very unyielding in their requirements. RHS, like most of the inspectors I spoke to, was not able to meet the high liability requirement and I had to call them to cancel. David was very understanding and thanked me for giving him as much notice as I could so he could try and fill that appointment slot. RHS was very professional and easy to deal with. I would try to use them again, whenever the need arises.

The overall experience was informative and was actually enjoyable. David Goldberg sent the home inspection results to me the night of the inspection and the radon test results as soon as they were in. He is knowledgeable, pleasant, professional and clearly enjoys his work. I highly recommend RHS, Inc.and David Golderg for your home inspection.

It went quite well. David was on time (actually early, to scope things out in advance) and performed a thorough inspection. We ended up performing a major renovation on the house and didn't find anything in tearing quite a bit out that he hadn't noticed. I would absolutely use him again, but I am not planning on buying any other property for a long, long time.

David knows houses inside and out and is genial and professional. You are guided on an hours long tour through your prospective house, hosted by a meticulous expert with a skeptical eye for every detail. Absolutely hire this guy and, if you have the time, do some homework beforehand on electrical systems and home maintenance. If you understand nothing of these, you will still get an overall assessment in straightforward language. The more you understand, the more you will benefit from the expertise of someone who has spent decades on the ins-and-outs of houses. Highest recommendation.

We had a great experience. He picked up on a few problem areas that we had not noticed during our first 2 visits to the home. We were able to go back to the seller and have them fixed before we purchased. Highly recommended.

We are first time homebuyers and David, owner of RHS, performed a home inspection for us. I could not have been more pleased with the experience. He was in a word...amazing. I'm just adding to the chorus of voices that say Dave is fabulous. He's detail-oriented and committed to the work. I always felt like he was trying to give me the best information that the could, unlike less scrupulous inspectors who are afraid to be too critical lest they do not get referrals from realtors. Anyway, I don't know how else to say it, but Dave is EXCELLENT . I've purchased two house sbefore, and I cannot believe the difference in inspectors. Go with Dave! He is pricier than others, but as other people say, it's not wise to pinch pennies when you might end up missing dangerous, expensive mistakes. Thank you, Dave!!! Also he gives you the inspection report on the same day, which is important if you are trying to meet the expiration date of a contingency. The price above included a radon test.

I am planning to sell my house in the next year or so and wanted to get an idea of the work that needs to be done before putting it on the market. At the suggestion of a friend, I contacted Reliable Home Services, Inc and made an appointment for David to do a home inspection. Kris was great to work with in regards to scheduling the appointment and I was very impressed with David's thorough inspection. In addition to giving me a verbal list of the work during the inspection, he also gave me several excellent ideas on upgrades. As a first-time home-seller, I had a list of things that I thought "HAD" to be done before I could even think of selling the house. For example, I said I "HAVE" to gut and remodel both full bathrooms in my house. He agreed that the master bathroom does need to be redone, but very graciously told me that with the exception of replacing the vanity in the guest bathroom, everything else with the rest of the bathroom is in good condition (except getting a stopper for the tub, of course :) ) David promised me the detailed inspection report with pictures in about a day and I received the report in less than 24 hours of his visit. His inspection, ideas, and suggestions put my mind at ease and made me realize there is nothing terrifying about selling a house! David and Kris, thank you! I look forward to calling you when I buy my next house and will definitely recommend David to any of my friends who might be looking for a home inspector.

Befor buying your home, make sure that you appoint a company independently and not go with the recommendation that your real estate agent makes. I did my research and contacted several home inspection companies and read the detailed reviews and documentation before finally choosing RHS.David, by far is the most professional and highly competent professional who will really offer the right and sound advice that will protect your interests. He will engage you during the process and you will become a much more informed and educated in assessing a potential home condition. He shows up before the schedule time to start early to ensure a detailed analysis, explains all the technical details in plain understandable manner nad will offer advice on potential remedies and costs involved. Highly recommend David, call early as his schedule is quite booked.

Vimal arrived on time and was ready to go with the inpection. He methodically took us through the whole property, explaining his findings and recommended improvements. He would periodically stop to do data entry into his computer, and this also gave us a chance to spend more time with the house. The inspection was on a Friday, and took several hours. Before the end of the weekend we received the report and were able to make our decision as to how to proceed with the inspection contingency. He spotted problems with the chimney, roof tiles, grade, and other systems. The report he delivered also serves as great roadmap to our home ownership, with it we're able to plan what upgrades our house needs over the next few years.

I was extremely happy with RHS. The inspector was very professional and detailed. His price may be a tad bit higher but not ridiculous. The money spent was well worth it. He was very nice and friendly and made the time spent casual and informative. He spent close to 3 hours and went through everything. All major items were hit with detail. He even helped me while seller's contractors were there highlighting issues to them that were of my concern. In addition, he showed me the ins and outs of various things i needed to know as a home-owner. His report was very nicely produced, with colored photos and descriptions of the issues. This help quite a bit with negotiations. I would highly recommend him to family and friends.

David was early for the appointment, giving him time to look around the house and plan how he wanted to go through it with us. He spent time to explain things that would be in the inspection report, as well as the things that would not be in the report but that we should know about (things like where shut-off valves are located, potential safety hazards that were not technically defects, etc.). The inspection lasted almost 3 hours. David explained everything he was doing and what he was looking for, and made sure to ask whether we understood or had questions. His report was thorough, easy to understand, and included pictures of the problem areas.

David was an excellent and thorough inspector. He found things that other inspectors had missed (some things the seller didn't even know about!). As first time home buyers he also walked us through the process and answered our many questions. I would highly recommend him. The cost was for both the inspection and the radon test, which he organized for us.

If you're going to pay for a home inspection before you buy a house in the DC/MD/VA area, I cannot imagine a smarter choice than David Goldberg. He's not the cheapest. But really, we're talking about buying a house here, so saving a hundred bucks to get a less than thorough home inspection is just silly. And David Goldberg will give you the most thorough home inspection you will ever have. His wife Kris sets up the appointments, and she's great. And on the morning of the inspection -- a rare snowy day in Bethesda -- David showed up more than a half hour early and had already surveyed much of the exterior by the time we arrived. He took us around, teaching us about our new home -- what was solid and what we needed to plan to fix or replace. Amazing level of knowledge and attention to detail. We also appreciated how focused he was. He made us fel like we had a real advocate in the home buying process. After we told him that our contract stipulated that the house was being sold as is and that our only contingency option was to void the contract (in other words, the owner was not going to pay for repairs), he counseled us not to feel constrained by the "as is" language. Indeed, armed with the knowledge he gave us, we were able to renegotiate the contract based on several defects discovered during the inspection. That renegotiation would not have been possible without David's thorough inspection. We recouped the cost of the inspection many times over. It's true that his written report is not flashy or truly even well polished. It's thorough, certainly, but in truth it's little more than an annotated checklist with accompanying photos. But it is the in-person experience that makes David stand out. Listen carefully and take notes. And if you have questions afterwards (as we did) he gets back to you right away. Very responsive and helpful, even after he's been paid. One other note. We asked David to bring along a contractor who could give us a separate estimate for renovations that we planned to make. He brought along an excellent and experienced contractor who gave us a helpful sense of what renovating the house would involve -- and what it would cost. Again, a home inspection is not the time to be penny wise. Hire the best.

Initially he was fun and energetic, but a little too much into the self-narrative and dry meta-humor about the process. This detracted from focusing on the task on hand. He spent 3+ hours, and went through a lot, and was at time very perceptive. But it was very inconsistent, and the report was ultimately a bit disorganized and had many mistakes. This hindered negotiations, when one of the purposes of the inspection is to close the sale with insight. I have had other home inspections in the area, so do have a reference standard.
