He was on-time. He was very thorough. He gave me all the information I wanted. He did an excellent job. They called me back the same day and I was able to get an appointment the same week.

Dave agreed to do the inspection on a very short notice and we were glad that he agreed! He arrived on time and was extremely thorough in his work. The inspection took more than 3 hours and he went through each and every item with extreme detail, readily answering questions along the way and explaining the minute nuances of the house. As first time home buyers we were very skeptical about everything and are happy to say that we feel quite relieved after having gone through the inspection with Dave. Dave pointed out somethings about the house that may require some work, but at the same time he also provided enough details to help us decide whether those things are a priority or not. I did a lot of research on home inspections and read a lot of material prior to the actual inspection, all in all I must say that we could not have asked for a better home inspection than the one performed by Dave Goldberg. He also gave us a lot of tips about certain things that will save us sometime and money going forward. The report provided by Dave also had a lot of pictures and details for us to refer back when needed.

We couldn't be more pleased with the level of service we received and the professionalism Reliable Home Services displayed. We called on a Saturday, and explained that we needed a home inspection as soon as humanly possible, as we were purchasing a foreclosure and the seller needed an answer immediately. Dave agreed to come the following morning (a Sunday), which in itself was a small miracle. Dave was there and ready to go when we arrived for our 9 am appointment, with his ladder, camera and tools in hand. What we liked most about his inspection was that not only his thoroughness, but also his ability to provide additional information and recommendation that were tailored to our needs. In particular, at the outset of the inspection, he asked us what we planned to do with the house, and then as we went through the inspection, gave recommendations and tips so that we could get the most bang for our buck during our planned renovation. No more than four hours after he departed, we received a 14-page report, complete with descriptions and photographs of problems encountered and recommended solutions. We will definitely call on Reliable Home Services again!

Dave was friendly and professional from the start. His unintimidating approach made us (a first time home buyer) very comfortable in his abilities. Dave has great attention to detail and will point out things that many other inspectors would not take the time to point out. Dave also explained to us how to fix things ourselves (if we choose) as he went alone. It was truly a great lesson from him to not only know how we would fix things, but how we should maintain them as well. Dave also explained at the outset that he would note those things that were true defects, and those that were just cosmetic. He left no corner unturned and took his time through the house. His report was professional and delivered that day. He is very passionate about what he does and is excited about home inspections.

I received an estimate over the phone and scheduled the arrival time. A couple days beforehand they called to confirm, and asked if we could possibly move the time back to ensure Dave wouldn't be late due to the previous job. He arrived on time and got started immediately. He was very thorough and as he went, pointed out potential issues and where possible, how I could fix them myself if they were minor. As a first time home buyer, it was nice to have someone patiently explain what they were doing and what they found. He even had some testing tools that my Realtor had not seen before. He tested all the appliances, toilets/sinks, windows, electrical outlets and a visual inspection of the exterior of the building. Dave was able to generate the report while we waited, including pictures, which helped my Realtor and I write up the documents for the seller quickly. I was very impressed!

Dave arrived promptly for our appointment time. He did a complete and thorough walk thru of our condo and talked me through the process as he walked through the rooms pointing out to me things that need to be fixed by a contractor, and things I could fix with detailed instructions. He took his time as he walked through and answered all of my questions thoroughly. One thing I especially liked about Dave was that he gave me an idea of things that needed to be done now, sometime soon, and in the near future. He was careful not to discourage me from the purchase (if you have not been through a home inspection, it is a very discouraging process) but reminded me to be realistic about my budget and repairs needed. He was very receptive to my questions and even encouraged me to ask him questions during the walk-thru, and answered all of them thoroughly. He made the home inspection a pleasant and eye-opening experience and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a home inspection.

David arrived on time and was very thorough in his inspection of our deck. He made a few recommendations but assured us that our deck was generally in good shape but could use some reinforcement if we were worried. He gave us detailed instructions on how the work should be done. He went around the perimeter of the house on the outside as well as the inside of the house; especially any rooms where there was water to look for any signs of water damage/leakage. I took detailed notes as we walked through the house regarding the recommendations he made for some minor repairs; most of which could be done by my husband or a handyman.

David arrived exactly at the time we agreed upon. He brought his own equipment to conduct the inspection and wore shoe booties out of courtesy as he inspected the interior. He is from the construction industry and very knowledgeable with a keen eye for every aspect of a home. I took notes as he made observations (many amazing), and within a day he emailed a comprehensive 16-page report that included 24 photos that he took during the inspection, pointing out what needed to be repaired/replaced and what would be good to do but weren't critical. He provided time estimates on appliance replacements, offered handy tips on how to repair things around the house, and told me the four top priority items to do immediately. He said to feel free to call or email him anytime with further questions, which I already did. If I ever move, I'll call him to inspect the next place before the purchase.

Dave was extremely thorough, and was able to accommodate a surprise schedule change we had to throw on him at the last minute. He was friendly, responsive, educational, professional, and clearly knows what he's doing. We went through the inspection together and he went above and beyond to make sure I understood the process, the details of what was right and wrong with the property, and how to best go about fixing it. Pricing was also less than the large company inspection-mills around here. I deal with a lot of vendors in the area, and he's one of the few great experiences I've had. Highly recommended.

Dave Goldberg was extremely thorough and detailed in his examination of the house that I have since purchased, and he provided excellent documentation that included digitized photographs that we were able to forward to the sellers and their contractors. In response, the sellers performed several thousand dollars' worth of repairs and radon remediation, without any questions or complaints. I also hired Dave to do an inspection of the rental house that I am vacationing, and he provided a similarly detailed, well-documented analysis that is helping me to resolve an issue with my former landlord. (The $400 mentioned above was for the full house inspection only).

As strange as it sounds, the inspection was wonderful. David gave us so much useful information and even though we didn't end up buying the house we learned so much from the experience that we still felt like it was worth it. We knew that the house was going to fail the inspection, but since we were looking for a fixer upper that was fine. David was able to go beyond the "inspection" and helped us figure out what work we would have needed to do first. He also gave us ballpark figures for what it potentially would have cost us to get the work done. It was really helpful to talk to someone who had firsthand experience with fixer uppers and was also willing to share their knowledge.

The inspection went well, He worked well with the builder's representative, who, thankfully was very professional and not confrontational. He checked everything from electrical outlets to appliances, wiring, pipes, to make sure everything was in working order. He discovered, for instance that the heater wasn't working (imagine how I would have felt a few months down the line). David provided a full report of his inspection, including photos of all of the flaws he found, so I know where to look for maintenance follow up items. I highly recommend this company to anyone needing a home inspection.

Well-organized, he can produce a high quality report within a few hours of completing the job. To say I am impressed with Dave Goldberg's work will be an understatement. He not only understands the in's and out of home construction but also the layout of DC. I called him because I was concerned the sump pump will not fix my wet basement. He confirmed my fears and told me of simple ways to fix it. I would have saved thousands of dollars if I had contacted David first. Also, he knew where my main water valve was while everybody was guessing. Upon looking at my property and the year it was built, he told me that there must be a city drainage somewhere and close to my property and in my neighbors backyard, there was one!!

Dave was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was extremely thorough and gave us a ballpark figure on how much we could expect to spend. He also gave us an idea of what we needed to complete first, what we could do ourselves and a range of options.

David from RHS was terrific. He conducted a pre-buy inspection for us, and spent over 3 hours going through the property with us. Absolutely professional, David was extremely helpful and patient with us as first time home buyers. He got up on the roof and on the floor of the basement, and everywhere in between. By the time he left, we felt like we knew exactly what was going on in our soon-to-be-home. He took time to help us evaluate what priority the issues that needed to be addressed should take; what were cosmetic defects and what were real safety issues. David really impressed us when, after he left, we noticed a leak after running water for a bit. We took a photo and let him know what happened. He amended his report to include the issue, recommended a plumber inspect the issue and got his complete findings back to us the same day. Did an excellent job in finding code violations and such that helped us get a cheaper price on the house, he was very professional.

We cant speak highly enough about the service we received. Mr. Goldberg saved us thousands of dollars and steered us toward the proper approach to our problem. Prior to his inspection, we had several reputable waterproofers (all found on Angies List) present us with inside solutions that would have been not only expensive, but also very disruptive to our household. Instead, Mr. Goldberg honed right in on the true problem which clearly is exterior grading and drainage the vast majority of the time. He gave us the information needed to find the best person to do the job, without making specific recommendations, this is apparently the standard in the home inspection industry. He was very punctual and returned our phone calls promptly for follow up questions we had. Needless to say this was the best $250 we ever spent!
