They were thorough and got the report out quickly.

We had been doing a service of the property and an inspection of the overall condominium-associated property. They looked at everything from the roots to the plumbing to the fencing and they put together a detailed report on the fixes that were needed. They didn’t repair anything, they just did an inspection.

Dave Goldberg was very informative and did a thorough inspection. I was very pleased with his service.

The inspector arrived on time and was very thorough and knowledgeable. For the lead paint inspection, he tested multiple areas in each room and around windows and doors.

Inspection was fine. However there are some problems with plumbing that are do the rehab that took place prior to purchase. Don't believe that these problems could have been found during an inspection as they were hidden in walls, ceiling.

My wife and I recently purchased our first home together. Our offer was accepted by the seller, but because it is a historic home I was nervous about what might be able to go wrong. Also, the inside had been completely re-done and so things might not be what they appeared. I contacted RHS Inc through Angie's list and they were able to schedule an complete inspection within a few days (which was important because of a short escrow). Dave showed up on time and we went through the house together. He took pictures of everything and gave me practical advice on different problems he noted throughout the house. He talked me through everything he was looking at and showed me the particular things he was describing. We spent about 3 hours walking through the house. At the end of the inspection, he ranked those things that he thought were most important. I received a written report and pictures within 48 hours. My seller agreed to fix everything that Dave identified, and I'm sure the pictures and descriptions of the issues really helped make that happen. Dave is personable, professional, and has the knowledge to evaluate most things inside (and outside) the home. RHS Inc is on the more expensive end of the inspection price list, but given the investment I made I would pay it again. I definitely felt as though he didn't leave any stone unturned.

Kris handled the signup, pricing and confirmation process very well even during a busy stretch for their company. David was prompt, clear and thurough. While the property did not have many flaws we learned dozens of points of knowledge that relate to maintaining and improving this house as well as some that would apply to others. He provided a 15 page report with photos and explanations. Worth the time and money spent for this first time inspection client. We would use him again for other properties and recommend him to others.

David arrived at the house early and gave me an overview of what he was going to do and what to expect of the inspection. We started outside checking the electrical, structural, cosmetics and looking to identify the water source. We went inside inspecting the upstairs in the bedrooms checking electrical, water damage, windows, smoke detectors. Discussed water damage in bedroom initially caused by roof damage but no longer appears to be an issue. Windows were in need of repairs. The bathroom upstairs had water damage and needs to be renovated. Smoke detectors are over 10 years old therefore need to be replaced. Checked downstairs electrical box, kitchen appliances, water heater and air. Observed the area that had the most water damage and was able to identify how the water was coming in from the outside of the house. He resolved my major issue. This was definitely money well spent. I would use him again and will recommend him to all of my friends.

I was impressed with David from the start. Very professional and detailed. He was very thorough conducting the inspection on the interior and exterior of the home. More importantly, he CLEARLY explained everything to me. Not only did he point out the normal inspection items, but he also outlined areas of maintenance that I should look for in the future as well as providing great tips on other items like snow blowers and lawn mowers. David is a true professional and appreciated is straightforwardness and attention to detail.

I want to start off by saying that this is the most thorough home inspection I have experienced and for a seasoned home buyer it sure was nice. David and his wife are very friendly and professional which is hard to come by in this part of the country. David met me at my new home to be and arrived about 20 minutes early. He does this so he can get his equipment up and running and to give a once over of the property. David did a very good home inspection and kept an unbiased opinion and gave me estimates as to when and about how much it would cost to bring up to date some area of the home that will need some repairs. The rest of the home had been totally renovated and for a change it was not done by a fly by night house flipper which was one of our concerns going into the deal on this home. BE sure when you are buying a renovated home to go to the city and find out what permits were pulled a pro always gets the appropriate permits and it can save you a fortune down the road. David also educated me on how to maintain my new home as my new home is a old home that happens to be modernized but saving its historic character. This is well worth the fee paid, I will also be using David when it comes time to sell and purchase of the next home. I did read on here where some people think he charges a little too much well with David I would have paid double and it would not have bothered me one bit because with an investment like this one can not afford to be cheap. Why buy a Chevy when you can have a Mercedes for a little more. That said I would strongly suggest you hire David at RHS.

I was referred to David by a friend of mine who had used him earlier for his home inspection. David arrived bang on time. He explained to me what to expect in the inspection. He also encouraged me and my wife to take note of things he is telling us as those would be helpful to maintain the house ( should we end up finally closing on the house). he went about the inspection in a detailed manner, explaining all the things including things that were not update/correct and what the impact of the same was on our decision to purchase the house. The important thing to note was that he did not try to scare us or comfort us, just put facts on the table. At the end, he had a portable computer and printer that he used to create the report right there and gave us a copy. Since then I have called him few times when I had questions about the house and I have always got a prompt and correct answer. I would strongly refer him.

Saw the company on Angies list decided to call. Decided on a day for the inspection. Contract was done via email which was nice. On the day of the inspection David was at the house already checking the outside before I arrived. He went room by room and was very thorough. Explain things in a way I could understand. He checked the electrical, plumbing ,floors, hvac, outside spigots. He could not check the roof do to my awning. Suggested i have someone come out and walk it to make sure it was not damaged from a fallen antenae. I plan to do some remodeling and he was kind enough to offer some tips. David is the ultimate professional. My report with pictures was actually ready that afternoon. Would recommend David very highly.

David came to the property almost half hour early. He walked around the house and checked the all the wires/cables/faucets, and visually checked the roof and gutter. He explained to us what he saw and what need to be fixed. We had walked around the house several times, many things we haven't noticed. Then we went inside, he tested AC, and the checked the house from top down, checked flow of air in each room, each window and many of the wall outlets. He checked the bathroom for finish, pipes, flow of water, closet, cabinet. The attic entrance is very small, (David is a big guy), he still try to take a good look inside. The other attic entrance is nailed down so we are not able to check it. He also comments on the construction of the roof. He did a detailed check on first floor and basement too. He also linked what we saw inside with what outside, so we have a more complete picture. He gave a lot of prevention/improvement suggestions, which we think is very helpful.

Our experience was excellent. David was punctual, friendly, and ready to work. He explained the inspection purpose, process, and his methods while further assuring us with his deep experience of inspecting thousands of homes over a couple of decades. He also happened to be very experienced with old townhouses similar to our nearly 100 year old prospective purchase. David then toured the house with us, starting form the outside (including the roof) and then inside. We moved methodically from top to bottom, room by room. As we progressed he pointed out the features, building materials, current defects, potential problems over time, and routine maintenance we would need to keep up with. He then took many photos for evidence. Throughout the inspection David was never patronizing to our limited, first-time buying experience. He was instead attentively engaged with us to be sure we understood the implications of what he was finding. He was never hurried and he patiently took the time required to answer our questions. As a person who has done considerable building work himself, he also described different ways we could correct certain defects and what to look out for with contractors to ensure the job is done properly. Within a day, David emailed us a neat, comprehensive report which we were able to use with confidence in our final price negotiations. We would hire David again for any future inspection and we highly recommend him to anyone seeking what the company name implies: reliability.

I had him come out a couple of times. They are really prompt. David Goldberg is the owner of the company and is very detailed with his work. He did two of mine and one of my brother's houses. We were repeat customers for him. The price is average and it's the same around.

Inspection was interactive from start to finish. Explained room by room what he was looking for. There were items that were necessary to provide in the home inspection report and other information that was for educational purposes. Provided scenarios for best and worst case scenarios for problems encountered as well as potential items to look out for regarding maintenance based on the age of the home. The job performed was very thorough. Additionally, I appreciated many of the FYIs that the inspector provided; it made me feel more comfortable with buying (or passing) an older home while at the same time understanding more of the older construction methods used to better assess the long-term maintenance and repairs that may be required in the future.

He was frank and thorough. He gave us his own opinions with his extensive experience. He wouldn't recommend a particular company to repair anything but he gives his opinions. I've never used anyone for inspection before.

Knowledgable inspector who provided an independent and thorough assessment. We found RHS via Angie's list. We employed RHS for an inspection on a 3000+ sq. ft home in Northern Virginia. David showed up early, provided and overview of the process and then got to work. As noted in other reviews, he climbed on the roof, which is not common. He focused on issues that were of significant concern, had all of the appropriate tools and provided advice on how to improve the home with an associated estimate. He was also honest in pointing out issues that required an additional (specialized) inspector (e.g. chimney). In the end we walked away from the house based on David’s assessment. His combination of honesty with an experienced eye helped us make an informed decision versus an emotional one. Without a doubt we will use him again.

RHS, Inc. was recommended to us by our realtor. I would highly recommend David to any first-time home-buyers. While he focused on the parts of the inspection that would be included in his final report for the sellers, he also pointed out things that he thought we should be aware of, even though they did not end up in the final report. He explained what he was looking for and what he found every step of the way, making sure that we understood the process. The inspection went great and we came away with some great advice for maintaining our home in the future. The inspection was completed in the morning and we had his final report later that night.

Their price was okay. The owner who did the inspection was very helpful and very friendly. He was willing to explain everything to us. They were very accommodating. They came and did the inspection on a Sunday. I would recommend them. I would use their services again in the future.

We found David through Angie's list and couldn't be happier. This being our first home, we were very anxious and full of questions. The inspection was very thorough and David took the time to highlight major systems in the condo and what we should look for going forward. He had no problems going over things twice and being patient as we learned about the workings of the place. He was on-time and efficient, highlighting a handful of defects and definitely saving us several hundred dollars. We have no complaints.

I found David on Angies list and the "A" reports are correct. Very thorough, detailed and informative. Not only did David arm me with information needed to satisfy the contingencies in my contract, he also helped me understand the house I'm buying, top to bottom. I don't see why I'd using anyone else.

The home inspection was very thorough. I can only comment so far on the home inspection, but it sounds like they are going to be very thorough with the other testing services we ordered (they do use an outside company for lead). David, the inspector was at our home over 3 hours and spent a lot of time explaining things to us. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He never made us feel like we were on the clock, he spent as long as needed to look at everything. He even went in the crawlspace and caught a significant mold and water problem. He was very good at explaining everything to us and telling us what general price ranges may be for fixing each area. He had great suggestions for improvements and even spent some extra time discussing how we might rearrange one of the bathrooms if we chose to upgrade it. The price was in line with other quotes, maybe a little more than others, but we definitely got our money's worth.

He's good. He gave us some good advice. He was thorough and gave us advice on everything we asked about. I guess the price was reasonable. He was there when he said he'd be. He even sends a newsletter periodically that is very informative.

David got there early and began inspecting the exterior of the home. Performed an excellent home inspection, but I thought it was lacking because it cost so much and the few hours we were there moved so quickly. David did do a lot of things that weren't on the list of things to do, and for that it was excellent. He was honest and candid which was good, but things that we were concerned about really didn't bother him at all, so in a way, it wasn't exactly what I had hoped for. David is extremely methodical and systematic, and likes to go through things each step, one step at a time. He is also quite informative of how to fix certain things, what he would do if he were purchasing the home, and very experienced. Because of his experience, he notices things that are important, but doesn't really go through everything exactly. I will note that if you're going to be inspected by him, to bring a roll of paper towels as David has a bit of a tinker tick. He pulled the knob on a bath faucet that would never have been pulled and caused a flood of water in the kitchen. This for some inspectors wouldn't have even bothered with it, but you could tell he knew something spectacular was going to happen, which it did. He did reassure us that for the age of the home (20 years) all of things that we are seeing (cracks in walls, drywall shifting, issues with mold) were quite normal. I get the impression that he has seen worse and he's looking at the big picture for each home owner, and notes the things that really need to get done versus things that are simply cosmetic.
