Great, fixed it in one visit!

This was a basic inspection and maintenance for an HVAC system that is still fairly new. Very professional and efficient, helped me identify a nagging problem that turned out to be an easy fix. The price was fair and they were friendly and willing to share information about how to maintain my system for maximum efficiency.

They provided a new unit for a good price. When I reminded them they needed a County Permit, they tried to tell me they did NOT NEED one for a replacement. I knew better, and asked again. He said they charge MORE, to get you a Permit (required by law!), so I was supposed to say that in the first place. How is an average customer supposed to know County Permitting Laws? Then they said they didn't bother getting them because it took up too much of their time, and the inspector always finds things wrong! I told them THAT is why you need your work inspected! That's the County's job! I insisted, and contacted my County Councilmember. About 6 weeks later they emailed me a scanned-in copy of a County Permit and asked when they could come by with a County Inspector. I told them THEY did not have to come, only the Inspector had to come. I have not heard back from them, and it's been another month. I have the printed out Permit for Installation of an AC unit, so I'll call for inspection on my own. In other words, they are doing work all over the State of Maryland without ever getting the Permits and inspection required by law.

We saw that AC pressure at suction was 30 psi and at head was 150 psi. At suction the psi should be much higher. Technician stated on the service ticket that he felt that there was a "restriction in the piston" and that the restriction should be replaced. Another technician from another company said that if there was a restriction that the head psi would be much higher as the psi built up. This makes much more sense. Also the main issue is that there was a leak of refrigerant so the first thing I would like to know is where the leak is happening and how much that is going to cost. So I should have gotten a quote for a dye test which was not even suggested. Hands down that should have been done. The technician said I would be getting a quote for "replacing the piston" ( which now I don't think ever needed to be done). However, after a couple of days I did not hear back and eventually called this company to see how much their solution would cost and how much it would cost to replace the air conditioning system. One thing that stood out with my call is that the manager or owner, when giving me a quote on a Lennox HVAC system was telling me that maybe there were no more rebates. What he should have told me is that his company is not participating in the rebates as opposed to that Lennox is no longer giving rebates. Technician who came out was really nice. That's that only reason why the rating for this company is not lower. FOLLOW-UP: The company contacted me after reading my review. They apologized and gave me a full refund. I also sent the company a copy of my rebate I received from Lennox. Very few companies are willing to admit they missed something so I'm impressed with this company so I'll be changing my review to an A.

The Quality Air & Heating staff were courteous, professional, and efficient during the installation. Because the installation took a full day, and because I had to leave half way through to go to work, I left the staff access to my home while I was gone. I don't do that with just anyone! But because of my relationship with the owner, Dave Hung, who has so patiently provided me with a high level service over the years, I had no qualms about doing this. My home is so much more comfortable now---I wish I had the work done years ago! I highly recommend Quality Air & Heating!

They always respond quickly, come when they say they will, and complete the job in a timely and thorough manner. They are conscientious and neat, and their pricing is very reasonable for the great service they provide. It never feels like they are trying to sell me more than I need, but will mention if there are other things that should be done at the same time to prevent future problems. I really appreciate their professional approach and recommend them highly.

We did not end up using this company

Dave was a true professional during the entire process . We had shopped around and the other company in the running offered a fix that was Not as comprehensive as Dave's solution and Dave perfomed more repair for less . You can not beat that . Also Quality Air and Heating Inc. Performed the service the Next Day vs a 10 Day wait for the competition . When your house is 90 degrees , Quicker is Better ! Dave had told us he would arrive for the repair at 8:00 AM . The morning of the repair there was a big storm . There was thunder , lightning and rain coming down sideways . We thought for sure there was No way anyone would show up. The Door bell rang at 8:00 AM and I found Dave at the door with his tools , poncho , and even boot covers to slip on and protect our floors from mess. He and his helper went to work right away . They installed a temporary canopy over the outside unit so they could perform the repair in the rain storm ! Within 4 hours or less they had the outside condenser unit replaced completely and even installed a new pad for the unit to rest on which was not on the order but he thought it was needed to make the install complete . The new unit cooled our home quicker than the original ever had . We are very pleased with the work of Quality Air and Heating Inc. and we are already making plans to use Dave and his company for handyman services in another home . Thanks Dave : )

They came out initially and diagnosed the problem, then came back and fixed it. They were very reasonable, professional and efficient.

The people from Quality Air and Heating Incorporated were very nice and they were courteous. I felt that they were professional and it was nice that they were very punctual. The only thing I can say is that I think the price was a little bit too high.
