Presidential Heating & Air Conditioning

Presidential is the best. I've used them to replace our old HVAC system, and recently used them to install a ductless mini-split system. Both times, the experience was great. The sales staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and very low pressure. The installers are very professional, and know exactly what they are doing. Both times the installers came up with great ideas to make the new systems perform better and look better. They really know their stuff. You can't miss with this company.

We setup the appointment and they never showed up. We called to check to see if they were running late or if we needed to reschedule and never heard back. I'm assuming their business is doing very well and they no longer need clients. I will never recommend this company and would suggest finding an alternative company to work with.

They are very reliable and do good work. They are responsive and prompt when called. They are good.

Come out twice a year. I have used them for 20 years. I recommend them. They are good people. I think their Technicians know what they are doing, they don't send somebody out who has to find out what they should do about something, I think their technicians are skilled and pleasant and certainly the office staff are nice.

They arrived on time, they were professional, and they use my filters for replacement )no up-selling).

1st fan motor that was sent over was not the right one. Rec'd the replacement and install went very well. 2nd visit installed new AC unit and everything went very well. duct work looks good and pump works well.

Was excellent, no complaints, and no issues afterward. I am SO happy that I discovered this company through Angie's list! Worth every penny for my membership. Also, the company is able to email receipts, and quotes in "real time" which makes it very efficient when having to make decisions on services, and confer with family, etc. on pricing.

Last time when we installed the A/C in the house was 30 years ago in a 60-year old house. Now the technology changed and some modification was needed to improve the air flow. Vance was very up to date on what needed to be done. The installation was done with a crew of 4 people. They made the transition from old to new units very smoothly under 90+ degree temperature. They cleaned up the area after the job was done on schedule.

It service was under warranty. They sold us a new air conditioner last year and so there is a warranty. High quality, very professional.

These folks are nice people. Presidential managed an extremely difficult AC installation in my 3rd floor attic involving very challenging specifications, hot house conditions, tight spaces, and re-ducting what was a poorly designed system from the previous company. When they made an error in needing to change the electric voltage, they managed the mid-project correction well by negotiating a compromise price increase with me where we shared the burden. I brought in my electrician and they liked the firm and will use them moving forward. They supplied window AC units for us so we didn't suffer at night during the job, which was most appreciated. Throughout, they were easy to work with and highly professional, from the office staff, to installation (Andy) to sales (Glenn). Their prices were in the ball park with other bids--mid range. I would hire them again and highly recommend!

Went great. Glen the sales person actually did some of the work. They were punctual, professional, extremely nice, and did solid work. I would recommend them to anyone.

Not long after getting the quotes in, our system was having real trouble keeping the place cool and we decided to call Glenn on a Friday afternoon to move forward with the replacement. Presidential wasn't able to do the replacement until a week after we signed the agreement but they very kindly supplied us (at no additional cost) with two window units to keep our place cool on Saturday morning. The window units did the job and a week later the crew came to remove the old system and installed the new system (Trane 14 SEER Heat Pump System). The crew was punctual, friendly, and professional. They did a top notch job with the installation and the system has been working great since they were here (about two weeks). From start to finish Presidential was a pleasure to work with. The installation coordinator, Robbin was extremely friendly and helpful on the phone and through my interactions with Glenn and the installation crew I felt the people who worked with this company did care about helping us through the process and delivering a high quality system at a good price. Based on our experience I would definitely recommend Presidential Heating & Air Conditioning.

I received several bids on the project. Presidential was not the lowest but I went them anyways because of their warranty. I'm glad I did. The salesman (Glenn) was knowledgeable, professional and most importantly, HONEST. The crews were on time and respectful of the premises. There was a small issue with one of the new systems (a txv valve, perhaps?), but Presidential promptly repaired it under warranty. Glenn is customer oriented and followed through to make sure I was satisfied.

The technician, Jesse, came at 3 am for an emergency call and he quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. I am very impressed with this company and plan to use it for routine maintenance in the future.

The serviceman quickly located the source of the leak and fixed it. He recommended I purchase an EZ Trap--one that would be easy to clean and that would cut off the system when it got clogged. I was quoted a price of $240 with installation. I agreed to have it installed. Because of their promptness and because the rep knew what he was doing, I signed up for a one-year maintenance contract. He told me that I could have saved $80 on the part if I already had the contract. When he left, I looked up the cost of a similar EZ Trap on Amazon and it was $16.20. Nice to find out I could have saved $80 on a $16.20 part!!!!! Now, I certainly understand that I'm paying for the installation and his expertise; I would have had a problem installing it. However, I already paid $104 for the visit. With another $240 for the installation of a $16.20 part, the visit came to $344 for a little over an hour of his time, including travel. Unfortunately, Presidential probably isn't much different in this respect than many other companies, but I sure wish I had done my due diligence and looked up the cost of the part before I agreed to the cost of the installation. Update--7/6/16: Gena from Presidential called me just after I had written my first review and I explained to her how I felt about the EZ Trap situation. I told her I felt like I was fleeced because of the total price to install the relatively inexpensive part--one that was nice to have, but didn't really need. She spoke with management; then called back today to let me know they credited some of the money back to my credit card. Since they weren't obligated to do so, I felt that they made the effort to make things right and I appreciated it.

This contractor did a nice job and was very professional. They answered all of my questions and gave helpful tips. I would use them again.

We had previously used Presidential for a repair issue with our heating system back in the winter. They were prompt, thorough and courteous at that time. We purchased the year of service from them, which includes seasonal check-ups. Today they performed our system check up. The service was punctual, they were polite and professional, the work was explained to us, and we had one small repair made. So far, we are happy with the service.

When it was time to replace our old furnace, air conditioner and water heater, we contacted ten contractors rated highly on Angie's List. We had six come out to give an estimate. We were very pleased with the professionalism of all those who came, and we received very competitive price quotes from John Clower, Hoffacker, Davis and Davis, and Mike Bass. In the end, we chose Presidential as having the best combination of giving us confidence in the quality of work and a competitive price. Presidential's representative, Glenn Hoffacker, was extremely clear about the equipment (Carrier) that would be installed, the discounts and rebates applicable to the project, and what would be particular issues or challenges in our home. On the appointed day, the installers (Alex and Andy) were VERY skilled, professional and polite. They answered all our little questions, and explained carefully what they were doing, and why. No project goes perfectly on the first try, and they were not able to complete the work in one day as expected. The problem was the strange configuration of our chimney, which required an inner liner in order to vent exhaust from the water heater. A second day of work, specifically on the chimney, was required, and it was far more work than Presidential had projected. Still, they stuck to the original price, and showed real ingenuity in resolving the problem. When the work was inspected by WSSC, it did not pass at first, due to an issue I considered quite minor. Presidential came back out and rectified the issue immediately, and we passed inspection. Presidential followed up promptly, providing us with all the necessary paperwork covering rebates, warranties, etc. We would gladly recommend Presidential to other Angie's List members.

My wife and I are very pleased with our Carrier Infinity system, AO Smith Vertex hot water heater and the service delivered to us by Presidential Heating and Air. The performance of our new system and hot water heater is a great improvement over our old equipment. We are looking forward to improved comfort and better efficiency in the years to come! I am most pleased with Presidential's sales service. My experience with many other companies during the initial process of selecting a vendor and equipment configuration has been that many vendors are not willing to put much beyond a minimum effort in helping a homeowner make a significant decision such as purchasing a new HVAC system. For my family, this decision was a significant investment and not one that I was willing to make on a handwritten estimate with little other information. Glenn, at Presidential, took the time to help answer my many questions and work with me to find the system configuration that best suited my home and budget. During the process, Glenn also shared his expertise with me and helped developed the overall project design. While I had a basic idea of what I wanted to achieve with the project, Glenn provided me with a lot of expert guidance in system sizing, placement and duct routing. Glenn was a real partner throughout the entire project. I am also very pleased with the installation service delivered to us by Presidential. Our project was pretty large and required a significant amount of duct work reconfiguration, plumbing and new gas line routing. The project took 1 day longer than estimated but, that's a good thing in my book. What that tells me is that the Presidential team won't rush the job to simply meet a schedule and takes the time necessary to do the job correctly and with high quality. Gary, the technician that installed much of the duct work, is a true craftsman and the quality of his work is top-notch. The outcome of the project is exactly what I envisioned and at a level of quality beyond my expectations. Thank you, Presidential, for a job well done!

From start to finish, Glenn and his team did a fantastic job. They started with a thorough walk-through of our house that did identify some of the challenges we would face during the replacement of our HVAC system. Glenn had carefully listened to the different items I wanted priced, and the proposal he sent over included each of the options requested. We selected a high efficiency, variable speed furnace from Infinity. Dave, MIke, and Puma were the install team. I was impressed with the neatness and quality of the work they did. When confronted with a improperly valved gas line from a previous contractor - they checked with us, then fixed it immediately and without additional charge. We did run into a hiccup - since sealed combustion furnaces require new, separate venting, Presidential had to reline the chimney if we wanted to continue exhausting the water heater through the same chimney. The third party contractor hired to do this work ran into trouble as a blockage in my chimney prevented the liner from properly being installed. While the eventual solution was more complicated than we originally thought - Glenn and his team kept in constant communication with us and worked to resolve the issue fairly and properly. I can't say enough good things about the HVAC system we have installed - it works so much better than the 33 year old one it replaced, and so far, has cost less to operate. I would strongly recommend Presidential to anyone looking to to HVAC work in their home.

Very pleasant experience from the woman who scheduled the appointment through the person who performed the inspection. They were very respectful of the house (it was raining outside and they made sure their shoes were covered) and provided very helpful information on how to run the unit most efficiently and keep it in top shape. Will definitely continue to use them.

I can not express how glad I am to have Presidential Heating and AC to repair my external heat pump; I highly, and again, HIGHLY, recommend anyone who has HVAC issues to have them come repair your system. The people at the Presidential were professional and courteous, upheld highest standard in every ways of running business to satisfy their customers, and, I must say, I am one of the very very satisfied customers. My external heat pump failed one day. I used Angie's list and called the Presidential because it had the highest customer satisfaction. Initially diagnosed w possible inner core leak by a technician who by the way no longer works there; but subsequent $328 nitrogen leak check found a leaking TXV with a repair estimate of about $1500 including a new TXV, dryer, vacuuming and charging the system with refrigerant. When the valve was replaced and the system charged, the compressor was found to be non-functional. I have a RUUD heat pump which was still under a warranty but since it was installed by another company to an internal core made by a different manufacture, the warranty was voided and became a huge issue. However, the Presidential went hundreds of miles beyond any other company would have gone through to get the compressor replaced under the warranty and, due to under circumstance of the initial incomplete diagnostic being made by the technician who no longer work at Presidential, they did not charge me for the labor on top of it. Now that's called highly upheld professionalism, following their motto "customer satisfaction" to the letter !!! This is a rare and respectful business trait not found these days in any other companies I dealt before. But the story did not end there. The replaced compressor was found to be a bad compressor... And they had to get it replaced with another new compressor....This has been a nightmare for me and for them too. But after all I was so glad to have the Presidential on my side. Gena was very friendly (and non-condescending) secretary who coordinated all the visits and returned my calls and emails promptly throughout this saga of repairing my heater. The repair was done by Craig and Lucas (I highly recommend) who were very pleasant and patient. They did a wonderful job at repairing the valve and replacing the compressor and charging the system in the cold winter climate. Tommy is the manager of the company who called the shot to have the compressor replaced for free, which I never expected. He was VERY professional and prompt. He told me he takes his business approach with "customer comes first seriously". Seriously indeed, he took the responsibility of the initial incomplete diagnosis made by a technician who no longer works there. That to me says it all. I never met Tommy in person but I have a complete respect for his professionalism and the way he carries his business. I thank him for making this experience least painful if not pleasant. I can not thank enough Tommy and his crew of great people at the Presidential. The great rating of their company on Angie's list truly reflected on their work performed.
