Everything was going well up until the point where the salesman was supposed to provide us with an estimate for replacing our system. What should have been the easiest part of the process turned into a month-plus ordeal, where I did all of the work and never had my calls or emails returned. I never received the estimate. I can't understand why it was so difficult for them to provide professional service, or to put together an estimate for a $7000-$10000 project. Their service and attitude throughout the process was inexcusable.

The phrase 'above and beyond' doesn't even begin to describe the quality of service I've received from Presidential. From the moment their representative came to my house to assess the existing system to the point of installation, was nothing short of complete professionalism. Presidential provided four different options and thoroughly explained the benefits of each system. I decided to go with the 'Better' option instead of the others since I was planning on living at my house for the duration. The cost of the system was hefty, but worth it in my honest opinion. If you want comfort, then you have to pay. If you want professionalism, then you have to pay. If you want customer service, then you have to pay. Presidential was also most helpful with the financing of the installation. Without the tireless efforts of the representative and the cooperation from their management, I would be stuck with my old unit while struggling to come up with the money to pay for it all at once. The rep did not stop until a way of paying for the service was found and always made sure to get me the best possible scenario my situation would allow for. I cannot thank them enough. When the crew came to install the system, my rep was there to introduce us and walk them through what needed to be done. The crew were friendly and professional. They did not mind my sticking around to watch them install the new system and even took the time to explain certain aspects of what they were doing. The made sure to lay down tarps, clean up the mess, and ensure that everything was working to optimal standards. No one likes having to replace such a critical component of a house and having to pay for this is equally undesirable, but when it comes down to it, professionalism and customer service is priority. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Presidential to anyone I know that is looking for related services. Presidential Heating & Air is excellent and they know air-conditioning much better than a lot of other companies I've dealt with. I think their pricing was very fair priced, not only with the installation of the equipment but the other work they did in the house to make sure it works properly.

Lost AC for very hot Memorial weekend. Tech did come out that Friday to diagnose (no freon), but repair could not occur until the following Tuesday because Tech did not have necessary equipment with him. On Tuesday Tech found that the freon leak was from a valve. Replaced valve and freon. Only complaint is having to be without AC over a long, hot weekend.

My air conditioning unit stopped working and based on the excellent reviews from Angie's list I contacted Presidential. The technician showed up on time and went to work. I should mention that by the time the tech arrived my unit had come back on and was working properly. However I told him I was uncomfortable with it because it had been out for a couple of days. His solution was to cut a PVC tube where water was draining and put in a t-connector so that you could look into the tube to ensure water was draining through it. When it came time for payment, the tech said it would be $100. I then told him that I had a coupon from Angie's list which for $50 gave me $100 worth of services. Somehow after this information was provided the price changed to closer to $200. So, in addition to the coupon, I was out of pocket $98. The worst part however was less than two weeks later the same unit stopped working again. I called Presidential back and told them the problem was not fixed. They told me that they would send the same tech out to take a look. When I asked if I would be charged again they said yes. I told them forget it. I asked why would i pay again for a misdiagnosis. At that point I was told to hold on and the person would check with the manager. She came back and said that if the problem was a misdiagnosis then there would be no charge however if it were something else there would be a charge. Again I declined to have the same tech come out to investigate the same problem for additional money. I later called another company who came out and replaced the dual capacitor and everything is working fine. I feel I paid Presidential $200 for a waste of my time and a misdiagnosis.

We selected Presidential based on Angie's List reviews and this is the first time we have ever been disappointed. Setting the appointment was fine and the technician arrived on a Monday within the scheduled window. He was friendly, professional, and courteous. He said when he left that he would provide us with an estimate for the replacement of the compressor by the end of the day and that they could install it Wednesday or Thursday of that week. We never heard from him or anyone at Presidential again. We called them a couple of times and both times were told someone would get right back to us. They never did. Needless to say, the experience was very disappointing and we aren't sure what happened. If they were too busy to do the work for us, a courtesy call to that effect would have been the civil thing to do. We lost a week due to their unresponsiveness during an exceptionally hot week, and now have to start all over again and call another contractor in to inspect the system and give us a quote. The end result is that $475 later, we are back at square one. It is unfortunate that a business would treat anyone like this. Perhaps they make time for existing customers but clearly they are too busy to accommodate any new business.

The technician arrived promptly at the designated time. He was informed that the PEPCO technician had been here the previous day and determined that 240V was absent at the condensor. Presidential technician inspected power panel and found one wire was not connected to breaker. He fixed the problem with the wiring and A/C condensor worked correctly. He also did routine maintenance check. Althogether a satisfactory experience.

Overall, I was very happy with Presidential. When they told me how much it was going to cost to do the work to clean (take apart and really clean down to the component level) the individual parts of my unit at first (the required work)...that would have cost me a lot of money in air conditioning costsif not done, I was a little perturbed. $750 is a lot of money! But when I researched on Angie's List other HVAC contractors who had less promising reviews, and found that they would charge MORE and didn't offer a 10% discount coupon...well, the choice was obvious, wasn't it?! And I have found that it was no con - it was in fact a really appropriate price for the job! And since the weather has been warmer and I have used the air conditioning a few times, I have been delighted. Since I signed up for the yearly check-up (not included in the $750, but much more reasonable than paying $79 or $89 each time - Spring and Fall - to have my heat pump checked out) I believe I will be able to dodge a large pay-out by using better filters and having Presidential keep an eye on things. Preventative maintenance is the key, isn't it.

A/C unit wasn't cooling properly. They sent a technician out within 3 days of calling to schedule an appointment, and he arrived on time. He was friendly and professional. He diagnosed the unit quickly, gave me a price estimate, and fixed the unit that day. The fan and coils were dirty from improper maintenance over the years, and he did a thorough job cleaning it up. He also swapped the wires on a pump, and changed a valve to add a safety trap to prevent flooding if the unit ever backs up again. The A/C seems to be working just fine now. The only complaint I have is that I wasn't told that there would be a "service fee" and a "travel fee" separate and apart from the fees associated with the diagnostic, labor, and parts. Overall though, I'm glad to have my A/C back up and running.

Very friendly and professional over the phone when making the appointment. The appointment window was from 12pm to 3pm. The technician did not arrive until 5pm. I did not get a courtesy call stating that the tech was running late, I called myself to be told that he was running late. The dispatcher and the technician however were both very nice. Price was extremely high to refill Freon.

They are usually very responsive and will come out for service calls as soon as they can. Their pricing is reasonable and fair.

Came out the day I called to give estimate. Started work on time given. There was a problem with the Carrier heating system and came next day to correct problem. Couldn't be corrected and had new system delivered that day and work was completed. Every person that I dealt with was knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and really great to deal with. A very pleasant experience and I wouldn't hesitate a second to deal with them again and to recommend them. No need to look any further than Presidential when having this type of work performed.

Met with Service Rep, who performed a thorough review/assessment of HVAC System and Hot Water Tank 4. Service Rep generated and provided me with an estimate (with discouts/savings noted) and a schedule for work performace and completion. 5. Agreed to contract terms and conditions. 6. Service Techs arrived, as scheduled, and completed all work in less than a day, as planned. 7. Received a follow-up visit/inspection from State/County Inspector. 8. All work/service was approved by Inspector. 9. Received a follow-up visit by Presidential Senior Rep/Inspector, who made adjustments/upgrades to equipment items, per his review of system equipment items. 10. All work and sevices successfully completed and we have enjoyed the benifits of energy and cost savings. 11. Now receiving bi-annual maintenance check-ups/service by Presidential Techs.

They saw me promptly and came when they said they were. They explained everything and they were neat. I got them off Angie's List. I didn't see any problems with them and still don't have any problems. Everything went fine.

They are excellent company and are quick to take care of any problems afterwards. They did not charge us once for having to come back and re install a pump for us. They are professional and we would highly recommend them.

George Stillmann was very helpful in chosing the correct furnace for our home. The installation was literally the next day. It was without complication. I would highly recommend this company

I called the company on Thursday, 12/15, described the problem with my gas furnace not heating my house properly, and scheduled the appointment for Saturday, 12/17. The first person that I spoke with on the phone initially told me that the staff was fully booked on Saturday morning. After mentioning that I was a member of Angie's list, another woman in the office told me that the technician could stop by my house after his last appointment since my location was on his way back to the office. She provided his name, Tom, and told me to expect him after noon. He called me around 2:15 PM, and apologized for an unexpected delay in completing work needed at his previous appointment. He arrived at my home within 30 minutes and covered his feet before taking his tools to my furnace in the basement. Then, he checked the furnace until he identified a dirty sensor as the reason for the malfunction. He scraped it off, explained how it worked (in case it needed to be cleaned again in the future), and offered me the option of buying a replacement part which he had in his truck. I decided not to buy the part (for $160). The furnace has been working well for the past 3 weeks since then. I used the Angie's list member coupon for a 10% discount. The visit for the repair took less than 1 hour.

We've used Presidential in the past for our central air conditioning unit where they came in and did a complete overhaul on a poorly serviced unit (our fault) and we were very satisfied with the price, the service and the professionalism (A standard on all). This summer, Presidential was at our home twice. Every time I contact Presidential, the people on the phone are very friendly and helpful. In more than one instance, they've come out in a day's notice to help us out in a pinch when our A/C has been down. This most recent summer's service was another call to have them repair a leaky valve on our coolant line in July. As usual, they hurried out and Scott the technician is friendly, courteous and very professional. The work was done quickly and seemed OK for about a month when we started having the same problem again. Once again, they were out very fast and we had the same courteous technician to do the work. Unfortunately, the issue seemed to be some damage to the coolant line caused by rubbing together as a result of vibration. It wasn't clear whether this had been caused by the previous visit or by wear and tear. I consulted with the office and they were willing to meet me more than half way and I was only accountable for less than third of the cost (the cost of the coolant) for the repair. Some may say that this should be expected but I feel that this is a case of very responsible business where Presidential was willing to keep a customer long term rather than make a short term buck. I would recommend Presidential HVAC to family and/or friends and will definitely use them again. I also signed up for their maintenance plan and will be sure to have them out for service in the spring!

Presidential did an excellent job earlier this year when our system was not working at all. Turns out it was a blown fuse -- Presidential installed a better device (box that indicates that a fuse has blown and which one). We have an old system, and this time I was concerned that it had gotten noisier. Presidential was able to schedule the appointment for the next day. Tech checked it over and confirmed sounds were normal, then did other checks to make sure the system is well maintained. Presidential's tech is very knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt. He explains what is happening in easy-to-understand terms.

Overall the work was accomplished in the contracted time. The cleanup and follow through were excellent. Even now several months after the install any minor glitches are repaired quickly and if install related there are no charges. Recently found that condensation was excessive in heat pump area. Waiting to have additional insulation installed. Installation completed in timely and professional manner.

I called Presidential in an effort to have someone come out and check my AC unit. The unit had been freezing up and I was aware that there was a leak in the condensate pan underneath the coils. Granted, the unit is old. It is a builder's grade unit. I had made the dispatcher aware of both situations. We had discussed the units age and that there was a hole in the condensate pan. I mentioned to the dispatcher that I had a young child and that it was important to get my unit working again. He said that he would have someone come out in the afternoon and check the unit, but that if someone came available, that he would send them by sooner. Shortly after, I received a call that a technician had come available and would be by shortly. When he showed up, my wife called me at work so that I could speak with the tech. I told him about the hole in the condensate pan and that the coils were freezing up and he immediately told me that the unit was very old and that there was no way to fix the problem I described and that I would be wasting my money. Mind you, he never even took one screw or panel off of the unit. He spoke consistently that the unit was not worth putting money into. I heeded his advice and said "OK, don't do anything." He then proceeded to ask my wife for $105. Upon discussing the matter with their office, my wife was told that I directed the technician not to do any work. I did, but it was because HE told me that HE would NOT perform any work on the unit because it could not be fixed! My frustration comes from these simple facts: I told them what the problem was over the phone. If it could not have been fixed, they should not have come out. The technician never even touched the unit. He took my assessment of the issue and recommended nothing be done. When we called to complain, the main office said that I directed them not to do any work. THAT WAS BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULDN'T! Furthermore, he said that it was not repairable and that I would be throwing my money away. I will NEVER call them back again.

I emailed Presidential on a Sunday night 7/24/11 and Monday morning I had an appointment and a sales visit by Vince Hershelman the next day. By the end of the week I had whittled his four recommendations to the one I liked and Monday 8/1/11, in the early afternoon we were cool and the wife was happy. Air Conditioning/Heating systems are not cheap, but I feel I was charged a fair price and received a thorough explanation of all the details and with manufacturer rebates, Pepco, Federal Tax and oh yes thank you Angie; it all helps.

Had an AC that quit during the hottest week in July. Put in a call to check unit. Assessment was a leak but the cost to find and repair a leak was described as potentially expensive and with no guarantee that the leak could be found. Since the unit was also quite old, I agreed with the tech that a new unit was the best way to go. After getting a quote I also checked with a guy who does HVAC work on the side and asked his opinion. After describing the details he said the price was very fair and to take the offer. I set up a date on a Thurs for a Monday installation (Tried to do it on FRI but they were booked). Installation took 3/4 of the day and everything went smoothly. Guys did a good job and they happened to have an Angie coupon offer which they took with no hesitation. The people on the phone were also very nice to work with. Overall a good experience and I would recommend them.

He was very professional and as thorough as he could be. I was happy with the service. They will come back in the winter for the heating. I would definitely use him again and I would recommend.
