Description of Work: After a big snowstorm I called to have them remove snow from my roof. They responded in 1/2 and hour. I was not given a price and when they finished, 1/2 hour later I was presented with a bill for $1800. They offered to perform some other repair work. It was going to be an insurance claim and we felt they were attempting to gouge the insurance company. When I called to inform them I would be contacting another company, the owner became very abusive on the telephone. I will never call on them for anything in the future.

+ -1 moreThis was the second roofing company we called. The first one claimed they didn't do repairs, only installed new roofs even though the scheduler of the company knew this was a simple leaky roof repair estimate. First company rep told us we didn't need a new roof (which we already knew) so we went to the next company on our list - Nova Roofing. Up to now, we had not gotten a solid quote on the leaky roof job, but a contractor friend gave us a range of the repairs that we should expect. Thus the shock of receiving Nova's quote. We have another company lined up to give us another estimate. Stay tuned!
Description of Work: Bill came out to give us an estimate of the repairs for a leaky roof. He seemed professional and serious. After climbing on to our roof, he phoned in his assessment to the home office (assume this was the owner) and then promptly issued us a quote of $3,200. We were shocked since this seemed like a great deal of money to stop a leaky roof. We told Bill that it was doubtful we would have Nova do the work. He indicated that we owed the company $85.00 for the estimate, which we paid. As he was leaving, he offered to do the job himself for half the price. We did not take Bill up on his offer.
