Moyers Lawn Service & Landscaping

There was some attention to detail missing. I would use them in the future but would be more specific about what I needed. They really tried to do what they could do within the price. They steered me toward the right deal and that seemed to be the right amount of time that I needed.

I purchased an Angie's List deal. The crew was very efficient - they arrived before 8am and finished before 9am. Maybe not every single weed was pulled, but the yard was significantly improved. They crew was professional and efficient.

It was okay. I happen to shell out more money than I ever expected. They ended up taking a lot longer than I had originally thought it would take. I was surprised at my final amount. I had to pay a lot more, almost twice for the work done. The work was fine. I couldn't complain about the work or anything. I was just really disappointed. I don't have a big lawn and I have a lot of patio. It was all mulching and some of my money went towards the mulch itself. It took them a lot longer than I would have ever expected. My husband and I could have done it on a Saturday.

The crew was on time. They work hard and the yard was quickly transformed.

Crew was late and there was confusion about what services I had purchased - however, they did an excellent job and my yard looks great. I would use this company again.

Absolutely fantastic! I never expected that they could complete what I was asking in the time allotted, and it was stiflingly hot out, but they did all that and more without even being asked. Fantastic work ethic and really nice guys. I would not hestitate to use their services again.

Scheduled an estimate. When the estimator hadnt arrived at the agreed time I called the office. They contacted the estimator who was running a bit late and explained that I was next on his list. Jessee came soon thereafter. He was very nice and explained the process and why more work/labor would be required than what I had initially thought. The weeds had really taken over. I was not there the entire time but I happened to stop by the property when the crew did some of their work. I am veryleased with the job that they did.

While I was at work the day the crew came, I heard from my next-door neighbor that the men (3 or 4, I can't remember) worked very hard, all day. They did not have the time to trim the bushes in the back, but clearly that was not due to slacking off. Over the past previous 5 weeks, I had contacted 3 different companies. One person came to see the work that was to be done and prepare an estimate. I called twice to find out when I could get the estimate, and all I got were promises that one would be sent in the mail soon. I still haven't received it. Another company, which I had contacted via their contact form online, did not respond. I followed up with a phone call the next weekend, and that's when I found out the company was out of business. A third company rescheduled the appointment twice. They tried to reschedule a third time, but at that point I said, Forget it! In the meantime, my yards were getting worse and worse. One evening, I decided to try a special deal on Angie's list -- my first. I made it clear I needed emergency help. I am thrilled to say that I got a phone call the next morning at work. The day after the initial phone call, a landscaper from the company came to prepare an estimate, and I followed up with a phone call to make sure everything was clear. A couple of days later, I returned home from work to much, much improved yards. A note about the price: The special deal from Angie's was more limited than what I needed, so I paid extra to get everything done. The pricing was clearly explained to me at the time of the initial phone call, and again when I called about the estimate. Dealing with Moyers Lawn Service and Landscaping has truly been a pleasure. A very responsive, professional, and efficient company!

This was my first experience with Moyers, so I didn't know what to expect. They arrived on time, were professional, and did a fantastic job cleaning up my overgrown yard, both front and back. I would definitely hire them again.

They did an efficient, thorough, and quick job in clearing and cleaning the back yard. They had a helpful attitude and were willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything we wanted was done. The backyard looked very neat and clean when they were done. Overall, we had an excellent experience with this company.

In general, they did fantastic work! I'm not sure they did the whole twelve hours worth, but since I wasn't there, I can't say for sure. When they arrived in the morning (on time) and I started giving them the list of things I wanted done, the leader said "you know we're only here for a little over an hour." I told him I had paid for twelve hours worth, and he said they had five guys working. That's a little over TWO hours for the whole crew, not one hour, which I mentioned. But, it was clear they had planned on only a bit over an hour. Last year I had eight hours worth of work done, and it looks like they did a bit more than the eight hours, but not 50% more. However, the work that they did do was top notch. I had asked them to trim back the azaleas fairly heavily, and I expected to come back to bare branches (which would grow back - I fully expected bare branches!), but from the front, you can't tell anything was done other than trimming! Only on the top can you see no green growth - fully expected, as that's where I wanted most of the trimming. The edging was excellent - much of the grass was "growing" into the sidewalk, and they took it back fully. Vines and weeds were pulled and hauled away. Perhaps they really did 12 hours worth, but I was expecting more - like most of us do! :^) Our front lawn looks great now - thanks!

They did an excellent job in the time allotted. Our yard had gotten overrun with weeds and needed a substantial amount of work. They came when they said they would and worked hard in the hour or so they were there.

I was unhappy with the service and I wrote an review. They contacted me and we had the problem resolved. I am glad that they took clients satisfaction seriously.

Dale's team was prompt, fast and efficient. They did a great job and completed the job beyond expectations. Dale was great to work with, will use them again.

Update: Dale Moyers wrote me a personal letter offering to come out and personally speak to me about the situation and gave me his personal cell phone number. I chose to call him and came away convinced that he sincerely cared about my experience and truly wanted the opportunity to make things right. We had a very good conversation and I believe that had I complained earlier he would have fixed things. I'm not sure if I'll ever use them again, but Mr. Moyers asked me to deal with him directly if I ever decide to. He handled it with great class and I'm happy that we spoke. __________________________________________________________________ Here was my experience: I contacted Moyers to do recurring lawn cutting via Angie's list and they seemed to have pretty good ratings there for some reason. Everything was very professional in terms of how they do the contract, disclose the work that will be done, etc. Their cutting schedule stated that they cut every week at this time of the year because the grass grows fastest. The first cut happened on May 16. I noticed immediately that there was a large part of the side lot that wasn't cut or whacked and some large, tall tufts of grass around our driveway. Before I could could even get the time to take some photos and email them to complain, he was back out on the 21st! I thought they must be out to correct what they didn't cut before, but he didn't. The grass couldn't have grown an eighth of an inch in that time. Then he came back out on May 26th for another cut! This time my wife caught the guy and instructed him to cut the parts he consistently missed while texting me to ask (should they be cutting the grass so frequently?!) By this time, I decided, between the half-effort put into the cutting and the frequency of cuts, I'd had enough... I didn't like where this was heading! I called the office to pay the invoice (which listed 3 cuts) and to cancel any further service. She informed me that they'd also come out and cut on the 31st! I explained that I was firing them for 2 reasons: 1) When I originally signed up for the service, I asked them to include the trimming of the bushes in front of the house; which stand about 5 inches tall, She told me that it would be an additional $400+ for any trimming because they HAVE to charge me a hauling fee! I pointed out that these are small bushes that wouldn't generate a bag of debris and she's like "that's what we charge"! If I'm paying over $50 a cut and can't even get small shrubs trimmed for even an an additional nominal charge, it's kind of a bad experience. 2) I pointed out the half-assed way in which the grass had been cut all of those times and we didn't get a decent cut until my wife went out to yell at him! Before I could even get to how they were racking up the charges by coming out so often to cut grass that hadn't even grown yet, she stated "you should have called to complain about the bad cuts so that we could correct it" I replied that if I'm hiring a professional company with years of experience I shouldn't have to call about work that was obviously shoddy! She then said she'd tell the owners. In the end; they did 4 cuts in 15 days! That averages to a cut every 3.75 days at a total cost of $208!

They did a very nice job. I had them come back again to my home and take down some bushes.

We took advantage of the Angie's List Deal that offered 6 hours of landscaping for $298. We had never used Moyers before. I purchased the Deal through the Angie's List app, and it didn't take long at all for Moyers to get in touch with me to schedule the service and they were very responsive to my schedule. I believe I worked through the scheduling with Dale Moyer. Marco (the foreman) showed up exactly on time (between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. on Monday). He listened and asked some good questions, and it couldn't have been more than 5 minutes before the crew showed up. I believe there were about four men. They got right down to business, and I left for the day. I just got home, and IT'S AMAZING HOW NICE THINGS LOOK! What a pick-me-up. Moyers did a thorough job of weeding and they did a great job of mulching the beds.They also carted away the mulch bags (we had some mulch at the ready for them). My husband agrees that "they did a GREAT job" and the cost was "well worth it." Two (green) thumbs up for Moyers. We would use them again.

Moyer's is a family owned business. My contact to arrange the service was with Dale. Dale promptly responded to my request for an estimate and delivered the estimate within 2 days. He had a crew on site within two weeks of my accepting the estimate. The crew came and finished while I was at work, but the results of their work was fantastic. They did everything they said they would do. The only problem I had was that they cut back my columbines, but they have since regrown and blossomed. I have used Moyer's before and would use them again. They are a very easy company to work with and are very reliable.

Used them because my landscaping service was expensive ... had a good deal so decided to give them a try. He was very nice. They did a nice job, they were very good.

I have been using the company for about 4 years. 3-4 technicians usually come out for the big clean ups and it usually takes them about 2 hours to do that. One technician comes out for the bi weekly yard maintenance and are usually out for about 1 hour. They are easy to work with and are very professional. The company standards are very high and they are meticulous in what they do. It is easy to schedule with the company and if they need to re-schedule they will call ahead to let us know. They will also call before coming out and are very responsive. The pricing is a little high but the quality of service is high.

Received written estimate and I gave go-ahead for the portions I wanted. The foreman communicated well after the project was turned over to him by manager. They scraped off old weeds/lawn, transported the sod, laid the sod, cleaned up. The Lead Technician gave me good instructions on watering and what to watch for. Would definitely hire Moyers again for monthly routine lawn work or special projects. The lower score in Responsiveness is related to my experience with Angies' Lists' message system. This is the second vendor I've tried it with and I am not sure that the message gets to them - maybe a company has to check it. But, direct emailing and phone worked well once established.

Great responsiveness, price and quick response. I cannot do this myself for the price Moyers is asking. Great deal, great turn-around.

Great Moyers is the best but a little more expensive then most landscape companies

Four workers showed up on time, worked steadily and were polite and neat. The job was too big for the original time, so I asked them to stay another hour and they finished.

It went really well! For $199 it was great – more than I expected. I gave them specific Dos and Don'ts, and they complied perfectly. In terms of scheduling, I'm sure they were busy from the Deal response. This was the first time I had used them, and I would use them again in the future as well as recommend them to others!
