MC DESIGN BUILD LLC

Description of Work: Our goal was to renovate our unfinished basement so that my wife could use it for her business. This included demolition, renovation, and building an external stairway entrance into the basement from the driveway. Mike and Ivana worked with us throughout the entire process, from planning to execution, even attending the opening party for the new office. We went through multiple iterations of the design while Mike balanced our needs and budget. He handled the permitting process for us and found subcontractors that cared about the work they were doing. The office is now open for business, complete with a new bathroom, a large area for client consults, storage, and an updated laundry/mechanical room.

Description of Work: My wife and I worked with MC design build on an addition to our home. I designed to about 50% design (my day job is architecture ..but commerical projects) and then MC design took it from there and completed construction/permit drawings. MC has expertise in residential design and can pull drawings together for permits much faster than I could do it during evenings and weekends. Mike cavanuagh collaborated with me on the early stages of the design and had a great suggestion on a replacement stair location that enabled the rest of the desired rooms to fit into a smaller and less costly footprint. mike and his assistant Ivana created an 8 sheet drawing set detailing out my CAD plans and preliminary elevations in just a few weeks. They had good questions and comments throughout the process and when there was a glitch to fix they pointed out good potential solutions. The permitting gauntlet is now over and we have constuction on site.
