It went great. Carlos came out to meet with us twice before his crew began the work and the fence was completed in one day and the stairs in another. We've had a lot of bad experiences with contractors etc., and this experience was the complete opposite. Very professional from start to finish.

They used some concrete for the posts and also regular fence posts. They were good. We are happy with the fence. My husband dealt with them most of the time. They were very quick and accomodating. We worked with the owner of the company. He and his son were really good. We are painting the fence ourself, but they gave us tips on that.

Works was performed well and on time. The company is very responsive professional and careful.

I interviewed and received quotes from a dozen different contractors and was incredibly struck by the professionalism, efficiency, workmanship and value provided by this company. They are excellent. They are a small outfit, the father came with his son. They were very good. The quality was good and it was a good price.

Excellent service and price. They arrived for the estimate on time, they actually gave a time instead of a range of times like other companies. The work was of excellent quality, especially given the price. One of the 4x4 posts warped slightly, but that is minor. I've already recommended them to other people.

The estimator was easy to work with. Specifications were as communicated. Work was completed on schedule and within budget. Crew was professional.

They were very prompt with getting an estimate to me and also starting the job. Its been 2 years and the fence still looks great. The only issues are my brother in law has had to adjust the 2 doors and their latches because they stopped closing easily, and I foresee doing that again in the future for one of the doors, and one of the non-cedar posts has several horizontal big cracks running down it so I foresee replacing that in the future (just noticed that so not sure when that happened).

My experience with Master Fences began when Carlos arrived to assess the damage to my fence and prepare and estimate of the cost to repair or replace the fence. The fence ran along both sides of the yard at the rear of my townhouse and across the back of the property. I expected to hear that I needed to replace the fence. The fence was original to my 24 year old townhouse and many of the boards had rotted beyond repair. Some had fallen off the fence. Some six-foot sections of fence had fallen out of plumb because the fence post had rotten through at ground level. Also, someone had struck the gate with such force that the impact pulled out from the post the bolts that secured the hinges. Master Fences said it could repair all the damage in just one day and gave me an estimate for less than $300. Two other firms gave me much higher estimates. I was a little skeptical but hired Master Fences to keep my expenses down. Master Fences arrived on the date agreed. Its crew had enough people. They completed all the work and throughly cleaned the site before they left. They fence sections were straight, all the damaged boards were removed and replaced with new wood, and the gate was repaired an rehung. I consider the work A+.

Master Fences responded immediately to our inquiry; scheduled a visit and estimate at our convenience for a couple of days later; delivered the estimate at the end of the visit; and got started as soon a we accepted the estimate. This is the second time we have had the company perform needed repairs on our fences (different boards and posts each time) and we have been very pleased with the work, price, and experience. We will be using them again next year when we rehabilitate our deck.

This was my second estimate for this work and was about 30% less. I liked the estimator so went with them. They did the work on time and it all looks good. With a fence I guess time will tell but so far no problems.

Carlos was a pleasure to work with. He and his crew were pleasant, courteous and professional in demeanor. He visited us twice to provide an initial estimate and then a revised estimate. His quoted price was competitive. The work was done on time. There were a few issues worth mentioning. First, it was difficult to get a clear, itemized contract. So, I didn't have a precise understanding of the details of the job, which is related to the following issues. Second, there were a few small repairs performed on some old sections of fence that were not of the highest quality. I'm guessing that these repairs were not even in the contract and were performed with leftover material, because everything else was done everything so nicely. But I can't tell by looking at the contract, and I'd rather have paid Carlos a bit more to get everything done right the first time. Third, the newly replaced section of fence doesn't match the old section - the new stockade fence is of higher quality with thicker but narrower pickets. It's close enough, but I didn't understand the difference until after the job was done. While we talked about making sure the fence was "secure," this detail wasn't expressed clearly on the (handwritten) contract. Overall, I was happy with the job and I would work with Carlos again. But for a big job, I would ask for a more detailed contract.

We needed a fence around our rowhouse in DC. We called, someone came downtown and gave us an estimate right away. The following week, the fence was built in one day, with a beautiful gate. We were very happy with our service.

They are very nice but very expensive. The guy who came out was very pleasant but the bid was just too high. Their estimate was at least 1,000.00 over the other bids I recieved.

It costed us $1700. They did most of the work on one day, the 30th of December. They had to come back on the 31st because they were supposed to finish it on that day. We have 2 chain link fences which don’t belong to us. They belong to our neighbors on the sides. We did not have them replaced. They were excellent. They were, by far, the cheapest in terms of the estimates. We interviewed 3 companies. They were much cheaper than the other 2. They were very prompt. They seemed to be very professional and we were very pleased with their work.

No problems at all. Very responsive to questions. Due to rain, they even finished up on a Saturday.

Fenced needed some major replacements. Not all the rails and posts were bad. Carlos arrived at the agreed time, he and I checked each rail and post and agreed to what needed to be replaced and what could stay. Carlos provided an estimate on the spot. We agreed to a date the following week for the work. Workman arrived on time and completed the job in about 8-9 hours. He was careful, measured and aligned each post and had to build two new gates with new metal hinges. Cleanup was great. Plus for me Master Fences was a local contractor which I like to support if at all possible.

Carlos came out a day after I called. After getting another estimate that was higher, I decided to use Master fances. They came out immediately and completed the work within a couple of hours. They took away the old fence to discard. They did a great job!

It was great. The estimator arrived on time and provided a timely proposal that was 33% lower than others I received. The scheduling was quick and the work done in one day - as planned. It looks great, and I have received some compliments from neighbors who know fencing and said that it was done well with high quality components. Carlos was great.

A section of my fence had been taken out by an auto accident and naturally I wanted it replaced. I had just joined Angie's List and Master Fences came up as highly recommended. I checked some other places including a company I had used before, but e-mailed about three companies. Never heard back from any of them, so I had my husband call Masters. Amazingly, they were able to come out that very day and give an estimate. This was in March and I figured that it would be a few days because of a high work load. Imagine my surprise! Anyway, we had another company come out and give an estimate as well, but we went with Master Fences and cut a check for a down payment. Then we didn't hear from them. OK I figure, they obviously have other work to do and it's not like we're in a hurry or anything. Well one fine Saturday afternoon, I'm relaxing inside when my two dogs start barking and man alive, it was Master Fences! The workers were ready to roll and they spent about an hour or so replacing the fence section, and removed the old fence debris. That section of my property looks great--the area is now nice and clean and the new section is sturdy--but I swear if there is another accident there, I'm having a concrete wall installed! As an aside, I did contact the state about having a guard rail installed there, but it was not feasible given the lay of my property.

Master Fence gave us an estimate that was virtually identical to the other estimate we got, but the team from Master was able to start sooner and we really liked Carlos, so we selected Master. Carlos and his team were able to come out very quickly and they completed nearly the entire fence in one day (they had to come back the next morning--Saturday--to put in the gate). We were very pleased with their work and speed.
