Great! Mr. Chris M arrived exactly when projected to, evaluated the project, found some other issues with my (now previously) jenky kitchen plumbing, explained what was wrong/how it would best be fixed, but with no pressure to have the extra work done (I opted to). Work was performed in a timely/efficient manner, everything looks great, works great, the area was totally cleaned up. Very professional, very knowledgeable, very friendly. This is my second time using Mallick Plumbing & Heating, both times with great service and quality. I will certainly use this company for future plumbing issues.

Gene was very personable and worked quickly and efficiently. We had originally called because there was a leak with one of our toilets. We had bought a new toilet to be installed at the same time. We called in the morning and he was there that afternoon to do the fixes and install. We also had a new hot water heater installed as the old one was not working efficiently. This was scheduled for the following day and completed quickly. We both see the difference with the new hot water heater. We will be calling again in the future with everything they worked with us on completing.

I was really impressed by the service provided by Tyler. He came on time and on the same day I called to request an estimate. He called WSSC when he determined the main shut off was not operational. When he was able to make the repairs I wanted, he also discovered that my outside faucets were not working. He saved me another service call by making the repairs that day. I will definitely call this company with my plumbing and heating needs in the future.

I used Mallick Plumbing services on July 26, 2018 where the kitchen drain was snaked out - the technician went 60 feet down in the drain and a leak from the bathroom tub was repaired all within an hour. The professionalism of the technicians, the quality of work performed, and their attentiveness to details were exceptional. They even provided me with an estimate to replace my water heater and I was planning to use their services again. I thought I had found a reliable and trustworthy plumbing company until I noticed the water was slowly draining in my kitchen sink and I called Mallick in October to come out again. Even though a different technician came out, his professionalism, punctuality, and customer service was great; however, it was his supervisor's insinuations and lack of professionalism that we found appalling and disturbing as a repeat customer. The technician spent more time on the phone with his supervisor outside of our home than in my home. He ran water in our sink and nothing happened so he left out to call his supervisor. He came back and used the garbage disposal and saw the slow drain and backup and left out again to call his supervisor. This time when he came back into our house he stated he needed to snake out the sink. When we asked if that would solve the problem, he was not certain and could not provide any guarantee. We declined the services since it had been only 3 months since the last snaked service and when ask if there was a charge for the snake service, he indicated yes and when asked if there were any discounts, he indicated no so we decided if we have to pay for the same service why not try another plumber. Then things really changed for the worse. He had to call his supervisor and this time, he came back in house and proceeded to run water in the sink and use the garbage disposal and we could hear his supervisor yelling and insinuating that we must have put something down the sink if it is still backing up and why would they refuse the service...tell them they have to have their drain snaked out again. So, he left out again when he realized we could hear his supervisor's irate behavior through the phone. As a customer, I have the right to refuse the service of any vendor for which I am paying out of pocket for services. When he returned, I asked for the price and he quoted $160. For 15 minutes of service and probably an additional 15 or 20 minutes of time on the phone with his supervisor, Mallick wanted to charge $160. We were greatly disappointed considering this was a service we had already spent about $400 on in July and we were paying for time not spent in our house or troubleshooting within our house, but time spent on the phone with a supervisor outside of our house. Out of respect for the technician and not blaming him for his supervisor's lack of professionalism or customer service, I wrote Mallick a check and the technician informed us that we did not need to pay. Well, we were concerned for his job security if he did not accept the check so we insisted and he refused. I could only hope he did not lose his job because he was truly more professional and considerate than his supervisor. Well, Mallick sent an invoice in the mail for $160. The only good thing is that I am able to use a gift card of $30 I received during the first service. I did have another plumber come out and the sink did not need to be snaked again and I am no longer having the back up problem. We are thankful we did not use Mallick services again and have no intention in allowing this company to replace our water heater and I hope the technician is still employed.

Job went great! Chris came out earlier than originally planned since we were without hot water. He evaluated the situation, made some suggestions and picked up the new water heater and got it installed all in one day. He also replaced our water main turn-on handle. He did a complete check of the system before leaving to ensure it was all working properly. He was professional, friendly, polite and kind. He really seemed to care about his craft and how his skills help his customers.

I requested service for a very leaky tub faucet on Sunday evening and I got a call first thing Monday morning and someone came to service it by 10:30 am. Chad was the plumber who did the service. The entire experience was a pleasant surprise on many fronts. Chad was super helpful, patient and knowledgeable. I learned a lot. He explained what was happening and all the options. He got the leak to stop by replacing the off and on valves in the wall that were stuck and then explained what was needed for a permanent fix (replacing the faulty valve and faucet itself in the tub). Given the cost and need to tear up the wall, I can do that down the line but at least can now turn the water on and off in the wall after showering to prevent leaking in the meantime as I was losing gallons an hour. I casually mentioned to him what a tough week it had been because in addition to the leaky tub, my washing machine died after the county turned off the street water for repairs in the neighborhood. I tried everything and could not get the washer to work. So I had a new one on its way and it wasn't cheap because I had a small space and only a few more expensive washing machines would fit. Chat went back and checked and found out it wasn't the washing machine but the lines. He fixed it and saved me $800! I immediately called and cancelled delivery on the new washing machine. Then we talked about my old water heater that a former plumber said must be replaced. Chad tested it and said it was fine for now and I could replace it later. I also asked if he could give me an estimate for the main water line turn off because former plumber said it needed to be replaced and it was under the house. Chad figured out that there was another one in my laundry room and that would work!!! So, at the end of the day, I saved money! Even though I had a service call and repairs. Thank you Chad and Mallick Plumbing. I will be calling you when I need to do the new valve and faucet, and the water heater.

It went ok. In the end, the drain was cleared and draining well. The shower parts were replaced as requested and working. Also, the folks in the office who set up the appointment were very nice and responsive. Ok, so here's why I wouldn't use this company again: 1. The technician apparently never tested the shower after installing as they were ready to leave and collect payment before I went and tested it. Glad I did, because they didn't tighten the connections well enough to the point the shower head was leaking bad from where it screws on. An easy fix, but figured they would have run the shower and tub before asking for payment. 2. I mentioned that the tub spout still dripped a little while the shower was running but that was probably a Delta issue not theirs. The technician told me what I bought was crap from Home Depot, even though I didn't buy it from Home Depot. Even more annoying was I originally asked if I could buy parts through them and they told me to go to Home Depot find something I liked and then buy it online from Amazon or another retailer, which I did. Regardless, not a very professional comment in my opinion. 3. The technician apparently pulled a lot of dental floss from the drain, which surprised me as we never put dental floss in the drain. But it also explained why the drain never quite worked as it should and progressively got worse with more hair being trapped. Despite that the technician told me that "we" needed to stop doing that. We are the third owners of the house, so I guess some prior owner did as we never had the drain snaked before. Anyway, I didn't appreciate his assumption/accusation that we were doing that. He went as far as to include it on the invoice/service report - Exact quote "...pulled back a lot of hair in dental floss drain is relieved at this time but owner needs to stop putting dental floss down the drains". 4. The technician also told me to stop "slamming down" the spout cut off. I never did. I pushed it down once when the water was running and once when it was not as it did not go down automatically when I was testing after they finished. But he was insistent that he "heard" me slamming it down several times, and that would damage the seal. I appreciate the advice, but again, didn’t appreciate the attitude. 5. The technician carried away all trash, but also carried away all parts that he was replacing, some that were still in good working order without asking if I wanted them. I had to ask for them back as I might be able to use the shower head again which was still in good condition. 6. Finally, the technician originally quoted $1100 to do the whole job. I had a little bit of sticker shock so he offered some alternatives, i.e. not replacing everything since the shower head and valve still worked. I appreciated that, but we wanted the new valve and shower head as it had automatic temperature control. So I asked if there was any way they could do it for $1000. They said yes since I'm an Angie's list customer. At the time I appreciated the discount but after I paid, they gave me the invoice on which it states - "Angie's List 10% Off (up to $125)". Last time I checked 10% of $1100 was $110, not $100. It's only $10 difference, but if you are going to offer a 10% discount, you should honor it and not discount the discount because I only asked for $100 off. Just annoyed by that one. In the end, most of this is small annoying stuff that may not matter to some, but to me, it adds up and all of it couldn't have been avoided with just a little more effort on the customer service side. When I'm spending $1000 or more I tend to expect a little more on that end, which is why I wouldn't hire again.

The response was great and all was good, but the price was shocking. Total came to $440 for unclogging kitchen drain with a snake... Charge for 1 hour. Nothing complicated. We had the garbage disposer off already. Charged 65 dollars for the use of snake!!! (And he said the snake was older than him--no camera or anything ) Ok, but since when do we have to pay for tools? Came with a helper who cost extra 100 bucks (per hour). Ok, he held the snake. Earned more than a doctor. I was going to give a nice tip, but after hearing the total, I realized that I have tipped generously already. Too bad the 'tip' went to the company, not the plumbers. Got 10% off for Angies discount. What did I learn from this? Buy a snake on Ebay and do the job yourself. Watch videos on Youtube.

Mike did what I would have done if I had all of his equipment. I had already tried a plunger and auger for 20 minutes without success. Mike also tried this before brining in the motorized snake, then the larger motorized snake (75-feet long) before he finally reached the clog and was able to clear it. The work took 2 hours. The bill may have been a bit high, but I really don't know what plumbers get these days. The last guy I had was not responsive when I reported this to him and he's the one who put in the toilet a year ago. Mallick responded and showed up on time and got the job done. Mike's a good plumber and a pleasant person to talk to. He explained what he was doing each step of the way.

The drain in our shower was so slow that when you are taking a shower, water actually puddles to the lower part of your ankle. Thank goodness I have a high step into the shower. So I called Mallick Plumbing to snake the drain and any other slow moving drains in the house and luckily they were able to send someone out that afternoon. Mallick has been at the house before and when they were there last time, they did an evaluation and notes of what type of plumbing, parts, and brands throughout my house so if I ever had a problem they would know what parts they need to bring. Chris and another plumber came in the time window scheduled. They checks all the drains in the house and found it was only the shower and guest tub drains that needed to be cleared. Chris was able to pull the hair out of the guest bath tub drain, about a small fist of hair but he needed to snake the shower drain and there he pulled out a big ball of hair. Now my shower is draining probably and I am not standing in dirty water. Chris and the other plumber were very professional, pleasant and explained everything they were doing. Chris did not try to up sell me like a lot of other repair people tries to do to pad the costs. I would definitely call them again.

We had a 6 year old Kenmore water heater that was leaking and needed to be replaced. We had 3 companies provide us estimates. We hired Mallick to do the job. They did an exceptional job with the installation. The installers were neat, clean, professional and very friendly. Their quality of work was outstanding!!!! The other two other companies that provided us estimates were less expensive, but Mallick went beyond just installing the water heater. They looked at the source of our water heater leaking problem which was our water treatment system for our well water. They recommended a fiber glass water heater which had a lifetime warranty on the tank. It was more expensive, but worth it. The other 2 companies didn't even bother to look at other options, they just gave an estimate to replace our water heater. After the water heater was replaced, Mallick tested our water and will come back to us with a recommendation to improve our water situation. It is a big challenge to find a contractor that you can trust and that provides quality service and installation. We found a such a contractor, Mallick! We will definitely hire Mallick again for all of our plumbing needs.

Chad arrived a few minutes early. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and professional, explaining what he would be doing for each repair. He was able to relocate an outside faucet that was awkwardly positioned a few inches below the deck and extremely difficult to access by installing a new one about 2 feet above the deck. It's so much more convenient and will make gardening projects a breeze! He also completed the other 2 projects beautifully and even checked to make sure our water temperature was correctly set. He came highly recommended and I would highly recommend Chad and Mallick Plumbing!
