JK uses a virtual estimate to provide a quote. That's a trick! It's common that the price they quote is a lot lower than what you WILL HAVE to pay to get your stuff. The process was easy, but can say the estimate we received to move across the country was $5,000 higher than 2 large PODs to start. In the end, they ended up adding almost $8,000...b/c they quoted the incorrect weight to start, as well as charging for a smaller truck that we never requested. The moving company that did the physical part, wasn't JK, and they were hard, polite, and great workers! I reached out and begged JK to help with the major increase (added 65% more to the total...and that was NOT budgeted in whatsoever! After numerous requests for ANY $ help, we were told simply "No." I worked with the physical moving company and they offered to help with some of the expenses...JK, Nope, Nadda, & basically told me TOO D*** BAD! DON'T USE THEM FOR ANY QUOTES!

I moved from 1 house to another and everything went extremely well. The representative contacted within an hour of submitting a quote request on-line. The process for receiving a quote was impressive, using an app to video and narrate an inventory of everything that needed to be moved. A very detailed quote was emailed within a day with pictures of everything I included in the video. The movers arrived at the beginning of the time window and from there it was very stress free. The movers worked tirelessly, and took great detail to wrap and protect all furniture. After unpacking most all of the fragile items, everything was intact with nothing broken. I have recommended JK Moving to several friends and family and would definitely use them again!

Luis and Jorge were great and very experienced. They had to pack and load in the rain for 2 days. Moving truck arrived in GA as scheduled. Pleased that precious items arrived in perfect condition. Very minimal damage to some small items. (ie plastic storage container, clothes steamer, kitchen bowl)

First off I paid over $15k for a move from VA to PA, so I believed that my move was important to me and should have been important to them as well. Before the move things went well although I had to contact them to obtain verification of packing, loading and delivery dates. No one ever contacted us to provide updates. The packing team turned out to be atrocious as things were packed so tight in boxes that multiple item (glasses, lamps, glass table, knick-kancks) were broken. Boxes were mis-labeled as well. The movers loaded the truck fine but upon delivery they could not wait to get to their next job later in the day. Boxes were left where we asked them not to leave them, if we asked someone to put a box in a room they rolled their eyes or huffed at us. They complained that they needed to get our move done. For the price I paid their first concern should have been to get my boxes into the house and I was not even asking for them to unpack anything. Also, they promised they would come pick up all of the boxes after our move. All we had to do is break them down and call for a pickup. We have broken down all the boxes but JK has not responded to our requests for a pickup. Overall, great when they want your business but very disappointing once they have you locked in.

Extremely well, thorough estimate, on time packing and loading, not a scratch on anything, careful customer follow up. Haved moved many times over the years, probably tied for number 1 in terms of overall quality and professionalism

Excellent experience. Interviewed four companies at my house. I was nervous about hiring a mover because of a past bad move, but moving consultant Christopher Sousa was patient and reassuring, plus straightforward in answering all my questions, as was moving coordinator Matthew Bogert. One day before the move I asked if we could add a stop at a friend's house to pick up a heavy piece of furniture I was buying from her. This was no problem at all; I just paid a bit more because of the added time. We also stopped at a donation center to drop off a piece of heavy furniture. The job took the amount of time that Christopher estimated--8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No breaks or damage and nothing missing. My excellent crews were Thomas Carroll, Clifton and Lillian for partial packing, and for moving, Eli Hernandez, Tainier, Richard and Francisco. The total bill was $700 less than the estimate.

A crew of four did the packing a day ahead of the move. Packed all electronics and books, plus many other items. Did a very good job. The movers arrived on time on both ends of the 900+ mile move. All items accounted for. I was impressed by the driver's ability to safely maneuver the van into my narrow street and under the low tree branch and back it out again.

They did a fabulous job, they cared for my items and they made sure that everything made it across country in one piece. They you courteous, reliable and timely. I would highly recommend them and I would use them again.

Excellent. Office pre-consultation, estimates, information and arrangements excellent. Crew of George and Author were great as was their helper Shawn. Very professional, on time, polite friendly, efficient and competent. They took the time to carefully consider best way to handle, pad and load each item. Had as much concern for our belongings as we would and took better care then we could being more knowledgeable on how and capable/able to move particularly large, heavy awkward pieces. No damage and without any problems despite some pieces had to be dissembled and re-assembled; Move was complicated by multiple drop off locations and long narrow street and drive and rain. They pleasantly took it all in stride. Pricing was more than fair considering the intrastate distance involved, two days needed and more than simple point to point.

Move went well, however the biggest issue was with the estimate versus the final cost. After the sales person walked my home he presented me with an estimate and I was told that was the highest it would be. Final cost would be that or lower. The final cost was actually over $800 more. Therefore, be careful if you think about using JK, if price matters to you. I think they underquote to get the business. Their service good and the moving team was hardworking and did a good job. So if price doesn't matter - go with them.

JK showed up on time and took time to walk through each room of the house and garages asking relevant questions and providing written materials for us. The written materials were from the Virginia movers association and in them they indicated binding estimates were legitimate in Virginia. JK later emailed us a written non-binding estimate. Since we specifically requested a binding estimate I emailed back that we were looking for a binding estimate he said he would get back to me. Within a day JK provided a response that binding estimates were illegal. The representative was personable, polite, and professional but did not provide what we asked for. We did not want an estimate where upon arrival we have to pay, with no bound, whatever additional monies the mover requested due to overage done on their private scales. It's important to understand that a non-binding estimate means you agree to pay whatever the mover requests when they arrive at your new residence else they retain your goods in a warehouse and charge storage. Maybe the request would be the same , but more likely it would be higher. Assuming that risk is something we as consumers choose not to do. The D for quality is since we did not receive what we requested.

Movers didn't have a van, so they picked up my belongings in 2 U-Hauls, then transferred them to a van at another location. Many furniture items were scratched or gouged. Many items were broken, and some very important pieces are missing/lost. They packed my computer components with my clothes, including my underwear! Very unhappy and still finding more items missing or broken. I'm filing a long claim with them.

There service was professional and I would use them again.

The movers were cordial, but one did not carry his weight. They took a lunch break and other breaks and charged me for that time when they were not supposed to. I disputed the outrageous total charge of the move with my credit card company, and because of that, the company did not credit me for the lunch hour and breaks that they took. They used a tremendous amount of paper to pack--and, of course, I was charged for all of it and whatever they left on the premises. The movers took their time, so it cost me even more.. I've moved frequently, although this is the first time I was able to select my movers....wrong company and a big mistake--the worst move I've ever experienced. This cost me thousands, and I only moved 10 miles! Outrageous.

Best moving experience of my life. JK Moving was prompt, responsive, fast, professional. All around a great experience.

We were extremely wary of having our things packed and moved by a company that was not of our own choosing. We have some good friends who were moved by their company and the experience was not great as most of their furniture and valuable were damaged during the move. However, this was far from the experience we had with JK Moving. The man we had overlooking our whole move and driving the truck was amazing. JK Moving has an awesome person working for them who cares about ensuring the customer's belongings are packed carefully and moved without damage. He was very punctual which is always a positive thing when you are moving! As we unpacked our belongings we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of care and precaution that was taken to ensure our belonging would incur no damage. We had a local team that came to help pack up our house in South Carolina. The team of three was fine but definitely did not move or pack with the same motivation as our lead mover. The team that came to our house in the D.C. area was much better though. The follow-up from the company was prompt and made us feel as though the company truly cared about the work that was being done by their company. Overall, it was a great experience! They are definitely pricey but if you want your move done right, this is the company to choose.

We chose not to use JK because of price.

They were very professional and efficient. The final cost was less than the initial estimate.

It was an excellent experience I had with them. We had them for probably over four days because they packed up our house. They did an excellent job. Everything, knock on wood, rely on them for storage stuff. They did not break anything. They were efficient. They were polite. When they packed up the house, they marked the stuff that was going in the storage and moved that out. They came back the next day and took the stuff that had to be moved to the apartment. So they brought that all here and set it up. They have outstanding follow up service to make sure you are satisfied and that everything is okay. It was a great experience I had with them. I will tell others that JK Moving were efficient, timely and did a good job. They took care of our things.

Their guys worked hard but one of them was young and clearly not as trained as the other two. He left two decent sized nicks in the walls of our new home. They also damaged a desk. Although the company was good enough to call us and ask us survey questions about our move -- and we told them about the damage -- the visit from a handyman to fix said damage that they promised would happen never materialized. UPDATE: They sent a very good handyman out to fix the damaged walls. For that, I upgraded this score.
