James Stanley Asphalt adding 10'X54' parking space on my driveway ,very nice and response person. They came 3 employee total 4 person finished job on 1 day. they put 3 layer is better than I thought. They are doing good job and professional . Thanks very much.

We were very pleased with the work done by James Stanley Asphalt. Mr. Stanley came out promptly to discuss the work that needed to be done and to give us a quote. Our job involved shaving down existing asphalt in front of the garage, cutting the border with a saw to make a straight line in two places (along the walkway and the street), removing tree roots, laying a base, compacting it, laying 2" of topping asphalt and compacting it again. We checked with a neighbor who had gotten multiple quotes for her driveway and, based on that, determined the price to be fair. (We tried to solicit other bids but other companies didn't respond!) The job was scheduled and done on time and looked good to us. We were impressed that Mr. Stanley himself was not satisfied with a couple of spots and had his crew come back to redo them. Very professional and easy to work with. (Please be aware there are other asphalt companies with the last name Stanley. This is a review of James Stanley Asphalt in Gaithersburg, MD!)

We had a good experience from the beginning. Mike Stanley came out to review the project and develop a quote on site. The price was competitive with other quotes I had received. He walked me through the project, and clearly explained the process and expected results. On the day of the job, the crew arrived on time, checked in with me to insure the proposed driveway outline met my expectations, and moved through the project in a professional manner. The worksite was cleaned up before they departed. We are happy with the results and the experience and would recommend Jim Stanley Asphalt to others.

Mike Stanley and his crew showed up as scheduled and did an excellent job. On of the driveways had a couple foot prints on it and Mike came out the next morning and repaired that area.

Very well. They came when promised, worked diligently, did an excellent job, left our house spotless, and explained how to care for the driveway going forward.

Was not totally satisfied with appearance: lot of white rocks showing. Asked when it could be sealed to darken the driveway and was told to wait a few months and then I could get a special rate. When I contacted the owner a few months later, there was no special rate for sealing. In fact, the quoted rate was higher than most contractors that were used by my neighbors.

Better than I could've expected. I was nervous when I started to see the bad sections of driveway being chopped up. They did an outstanding job. Looks fabulous.

Price was average among the quotes I received, but quality was top of the line. Mike (co-owner / original owner's son) listened to our preferences, asked good questions to understand what we were looking for, explained the process, and followed through. He answered questions thoroughly, and promptly responded to texts and phone calls before, during and after completing the work. Culvert pipe replacement in our county requires government inspection and approval. Mike was familiar with county regulations and worked with the inspector to make sure the job was done right. Crew was professional and left the job site inspection-ready. It passed! After seeing my driveway, two neighbors immediately contracted Mike's services.

The response I received, despite sealcoating being advertised as a service they perform, was they were unable to provide a quote.

Mike Stanley and crew did an excellent quality job with my driveway. He used a laser level to ensure adequate slope of a problematic swale area at the bottom of my driveway shared with my neighbor. His crew manually placed all the asphalt material to address multiple slope areas were properly leveled or shaped. The completed driveway is beautiful and water runs off properly now. Very professional crew who were true craftsmen with asphalt and cleaned up properly. Driveway is holding up well after a month with no tire marks (we have also been careful when driving across as it cures). Communication from Mike was appropriate to schedule the job and they showed up on time. I would recommend Stanley Asphalt unequivocally.

They arrived on time (actually early - but not too early). Used jackhammers to take out the cracked, sunk areas of the old driveway and then professionally laid new asphalt. The finished product is great, merging smoothly with our stone walkway, sidewalks, garage floor, and street. They also added extra paving at the end of our driveway to help with a drainage problem; this was a last minute request and not part of the original estimate - no extra charge. We are very happy with the result. I would recommend them without any reservations. The work is warranted for a year. The team was professional, on time and cleaned up after the work was done. I had 2 additional estimates for the same work and they were the lowest (by 5 to 20%). They asked for a $300 deposit. I was in no particular hurry to get the work done and with the rainy weather in the spring this year it did take a few weeks to get the work scheduled. However, once the work was scheduled, it was completed as promised.

Perfect. Was given a start time of around 9 am and truck was in front at 855 am. James could not have been more polite and helpful both with the estimate and work. Special problems included a sink hole by house and getting the grading correct. Job required a little more asphalt than estimated to do the grading and owner absorbed that in original price. James remembers doing three houses on our block and did mine over 20 yrs ago, so this is a well established company. There are a number of Stanley's in paving and they run different businesses so make sure you connect to the right business. Pricing was considerably less than competing estimate.

As Mike described ,they did jackhammering out about 15 SQF sections of driveway in front of garage door and lay down a base layer and then resurfacing with new layer of asphalt on entire drive way. I would recommend Jim Stanley for any asphalt pavement projects. Mike did a perfect job and I am very pleased with my new driveway.

It went great! Only delay were rain days waiting for a dry day to do the work. The crew of 7 plus Mr. stanley showed up on time, performed the work as contracted and cleaned up the construction site (to include the County owned road) when finished. Entire job took less than 3 hours! This contractor was the least expensive (at $2,570.00) of 4 estimates. The others were: Superior Paving at $2,800.00; Total Asphalt Maintenance, LLC at $3,900. and another ridiculous bid at $12,000.

Ignored two requests for an inspection and quote.
