Purchased home electrical inspection from Angeis List. I called to schedule. Came on time, polite, responsive. Checked everything, gave ideas for updates charges. Said panel was fine - didn't try to sell big jobs, told me what I could do myself & gave estimates for recommended work.

The individual that came to my house was named Eric. Extremely personable, friendly, on-time, and hit the ground running as soon as he walked through the door. I would add honesty to his attributes too. I spoke with him about a day or two before he arrived, and told him that there were a couple of things I wanted to add to the to do list. He told me he could supply me with the parts, but from a price standpoint he stated it would be cheaper if I purchased the parts myself. I really appreciated that. I immediately could tell he knew what he was doing the morning he came to the door. He got to work on the crystal chandelier in the nursery, which I thought was the most complex piece of all, and he had it knocked out in half an hour or less along with the dimmer switch. The parts the crystal chandelier came with, the 5 pages of instructions, etc. had me completely confused. You could tell he was in his comfort zone and had done this many times in the past. He knocked it out and proceeded to install chandeliers 2, 3, and 4 over the next couple of hours. Each chandelier went in without a hitch, and some where made of a white or light colored fabric. When he was done there were no marks on the walls, and no stains on any of the chandeliers' fabrics. He also installed a dimmer swith for each chandelier. One of the dimmer switches had to go on a wall that was old and curved somewhat. The metal plate that was supposed to go around the dimmer that I purchased would not fit on the wall due to the curve, so during his quick lunch he headed out the door and found a plate that would fit. After he finished the chandeliers, he got to work on the outdoor GFI outlet on the porch, and installed the attic light using the old light from the nursery that I had just had removed (resulting in a cost savings), inspected a kitchen light and our electrical panels, and closed an open junction box in our basement. He also fixed an inoperable closet light, but he had to perform an investigation to resolve this. This is where I would call Eric diligent. He had to trace the electrical line going from this light in the closet on the main floor, to the second floor, and finally into the attic. He found the issue, and found the line going into an open junction box, along with three other electrical lines. The worst part was the box was sitting on the insulation around an air duct, with no cover, with multiple active lines and basically a fire hazard waiting to happen. He mounted the box, fixed the wiring, closed the box, and ultimately fixed the closet light. This had been completely missed by the home inspector and by me, because Eric was willing to go into a part of the attic I hadn't venture into yet. Very happy he did this. My wife and I sleep a little better knowing this issue was addressed. We were very pleased with his level of service, so much so that we are having him come back to add a home surge protector on the panel along with a couple of other miscellaneous items next week. For the work he performed, he arrived at 9 AM and left around 3 PM. He picked up all of his tools, debris, and vacuumed in all of the areas where he was working. He put on shoe covers before coming into the house. Lastly, I liked the fact that they don't charge by the hour but by the line item of work. You know exactly what you're getting with no second guessing. I would highly recommend Eric and J&G Electric.

As of now, they're great. I have them coming out to do more electrical work. The service was wonderful. I would recommend them again.

The electrician who performed the work, Eric, was tremendous. He was on time, professional, cleaned up after himself, and worked hard to install the new lights and fans, without many cuts in to the drywall and using the existing circuits. He really knew his profession. All work was performed to perfection. I would recommend using J&G Electric without hesitation or reservation.

Need electrical work? Eric at J&G Electric is your guy. He's honest, dependable, professional, and goes above and beyond what is expected. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about his work and his work ethic. It's hard finding good speciality guys, but if I need anything that's electrical related, I'm calling Eric for sure

I chose J & G because of good ratings on Angie's List and the company lived up to those reviews! When I called, I was asked all the necessary questions up front and I was able to get my questions answered -- that really helps things go smoothly. It was also great to know in advance the exact price for the work Eric was slightly late, but it was morning rush hour the week of Hurricane Sandy. He was pleasant, professional and efficient from start to finish.

J&G Electric called the day before the work was due to be undertaken to confirm the appointment and arrival time and the electrician called the day of the work to let me know he was on his way and his estimated arrival time. The electrician arrived within the time window promised and carried out a quick review of the work to be done. It had been assumed that the living room ceiling light would already have had a light box, but this was found not to be the case and so the cost increased from the estimate. However the work was needed, the increase in cost was very reasonable and the electrician had the additional parts on hand so there were no delays to the work. All three jobs were undertaken very quickly and professionally and the whole job was completed within 1.5 to 2 hours. I am very happy with the work done, the cost and the professionalism of the company and will use them again for any future electrical work I need doing.

I found J&G Electric on Angie's List. Within a few hours of my email inquiry I received a telephone call notifying me that Eric would set up an appointment to install the chandeliers. Eric called and provided me an estimate over the phone. He arrived on time, in fact early, and proceeded to check that re-wiring was not needed. He then quickly installed the fixtures and added dimmers. He even ran out to get extra light bulbs to complete the job. I was thrilled to have this task accomplished and without hassle or snags. Eric was friendly, on time, highly competent and fast.

Their technician arrived on the day scheduled, despite inclement weather. He was very professional and didn't mind me peppering him with a million questions while he worked. The job was done quickly and neatly.

What a delight ? yes, I said delight! I bought an ?Angie Deal? and hired this company to do a laundry list of electrical jobs. The team of two arrived on time - they were courteous, through and cheerful. They were wonderful. All work quickly completed and they were done in less than 2 hours. Not a scrap of paper/packaging or piece of wire was left behind. All contractors should emulate J&G Electric Co?s work ethic!

The electrician showed up on time, no hassles, to install two recessed lights and an electrical outlet. I easily scheduled a date and was given a firm price ahead of time (unlike most other electricians). The employee who arrived was friendly and easy to deal with. He had the work done quickly and efficiently, and explained what he was doing. He provided advice on what type of bulb to use in the recessed lights. Everything works fine.

Eric was terrific. He arrived on time and well prepared with his homework done on our setup and all the parts he needed, took no more than an hour or so, and somehow did the job without interrupting power. Cost was per switch panel, so if you have fewer than three panels, it's cheaper still - and their charges were excellent value even as it was. They also have a fixed-price policy, which means no quotes and no surprises. If you have any other questions during the visit (how much would it cost to add a porch light?), the answer is immediate and final. This is a smart innovation and very convenient for the customer, as you can make snap decisions and save repeated visits. Eric's professionalism made a great change from some recent experiences, and I'd be pleased to recommend these suppliers to anyone who needs electrical work.

The previous owners left an electrical mess- a fuse box, a junction box, and a breaker. I contacted J & G to upgrade/update the system. Eric came to provide an estimate on the upgrade- putting everything in one circuit breaker box. He arrived when scheduled, explained the proposal in detail, and most importantly provided options. Eric described what each option entailed but left the final choice with me. Eric came about a week later and performed the work as described and discussed. He did a fantastic job and the final price was the price quoted in the estimate. This is the second time I ave used J & G and will use them in the future.

My fiance and I were taking over my grandmother's house and so it was a perfect opportunity to have a licensed electrician to come in and look at things that hadn't been looked at since she bought the house in '75. Little things change over the years and it's kind of nice to get a solid professional opinion. J&G Electric was very competent, very professional, and very easy to work with. I knew there were a few little loose ends figuratively and literally with the electrical around the house, so I just used the other discounted labor big deal right at the same time when he finished the inspection. I just kept him around for a couple of hours. I was really happy with the work and the experience. I contacted them months earlier than when I actually used the big deal. I think the company is owned by the guy who started it, but he's kind of in the process of retiring from during the work. I called Eric who I believe is the guy's name that is the owner or electrician that handles most of the work now, while he was between jobs and chatted for 25 minutes or so. He answered a lot of questions over the phone and just was really helpful and easy to work with.. I looked at the schedule and I was about two weeks down for a couple of weeks since we couldn't fit it in before hand so they just tagged back up after the holidays and the early part of this year and we did that kind of all the way through. It was great and there were quite a few providers in the area offering $89 to $99 safety inspections, but the labor was as cheap or cheaper than any other sort of deal I could find or quotes that I got for just calling around. He was less formal but I think that was fitting the situation, but he's closer to my age and we're both 30ish. He wasn't less formal in an unprofessional way. He was just less formal in a relatable way so that was good.

We bought a new washer / dryer combo that requires a 120 Volt 20 AMP outlet instead of a 30 AMP 250 Volt outlet that's typical for stackable units. I contacted J&G via Angie's List, and Joey got back to me by email in a few minutes. He asked for some basic information, made a recommendation, and provided a quote. A few weeks later, he came out and did the work. The price was as quoted, and everything went smoothly. It was a good experience, and I would definitely use J&G again.

Eric came to the house twice. The plan was to convert several garage outlets to CFGI and install new outlets in the ceiling for upcoming garage door openers. Total job was going to be around 800. I asked about a whole new breaker panel as mine was showing its age. He offered all the outlet work for free if I used him for a new panel so I did. He measured the existing panel to find a matching size to bring on the second trip. The first day he installed two outlets in the ceiling for the garage door company that was coming the next morning and then left without charging me anything, trusting me that I'd pay for it all once he came back to work on the rest of the outlets and install the new panel. That was nice. The second day was a few weeks later and he installed the new breaker panel and a bunch of CFGI outlets. Service was prompt and professional.

In doing so, he helped us avoid spending a great deal of money. His support was immeasurably valuable.
