From first telephone call, Eric from J&G Electric Co., Inc. was professional, kind, courteous and very helpful. Clearly understood my project and even offered to assist with a telephonic or in person installation. Electrical is out of my comfort zone and we setup a date for May 1 for hands on installation. Eric called first to let me know he was on his way, and arrived within the first hour of the agreed upon 2 hour window. Completed my installation of programmable light switch for outdoor lighting within 20-30 minutes. Very kind and professional. Highly recommend and plan on using again for additional lighting projects in mind. Thank you very much.

They were originally scheduled for the day before but had a job that was extended. They called repeatedly and kept me up on their schedule. When they saw the job was going to take longer than expected, they contacted me and asked if it was OK to reschedule for the next day. I agreed that the following day would work. They called before arriving and arrived timely. They reviewed what I needed done and checked the items I had purchased to make sure they were the correct ones and could be installed. They advised which ones were redundant or couldn't be installed and advised me that I could return them. They provided some items they had to supplement what I needed. One item was a hard wired smoke detector. They asked questions as they worked to get my opinion on different options of the installation. They provided useful information such as the life of smoke detectors and how and where any additional smoke detectors should be installed. They also discussed items in my electrical system that were not up to code but were not a danger. The explained the correct process for doing a heavy up. They advised that I could have that work done later to bring it up to code. The estimates they had originally made were adjusted downward when they found components of the installation that they did not have to do. They checked with me to see where I wanted the old materials placed and cleaned up as they went along. They put items back in place that had to be moved as they worked. They protected surfaces with covering as needed. The job was done very well in a professional and friendly way. The only component that could be mentioned when you schedule their service is the 5% fee for using a credit card.

He was able to get so much done int he two hours he was here! He fixed my doorbell, a retractable light that hung on a hook where the cord retracted into the wall and the cord had frayed to the point that the light didn't work. Then there was a light in the ceiling at the top of my stairs that hadn't worked since the 90's, he fixed it and also the connecting light. He also put up some fans for me. He really accomplished a lot in the time he was here and even had 15 minutes extra when he left. He worked quickly and even if I had more things that needed done, I would have let him go early anyway because I was so pleased with the work that he did. I have bought other Deals for just a ceiling fan installation, but this was was a much better Deal for my money!

I called J&G to arrange for an estimate and spoke to the owner, Joey. We discussed the project for about 20min and he gave me an on-the-spot estimate. That was great because I didn't have to take additional time off of work to get an estimate. After checking with a few other electricians, I decided to hire J&G and spoke with Joey again. We scheduled the work in less than a week. On the night before the scheduled day, I received a call that one of the techs had a family emergency and that the work would start 2 hours later than planned. The morning of I received another call saying that they were going to be another our delayed. In total they were about 3.5 hours late, which was a bit inconvenient but I tend to believe that this was indeed a special case. When Joey arrived (a perk of a small company is having the owner do the work) he apologized profusely for being late and set right to work. Two other employees joined him shortly afterwards. They worked very diligently and managed to finish the project on schedule despite the delayed start. I am pleased with the resulting work but I was especially impressed with the care that Joey and his crew took with our house. They noted where all the furniture was prior to moving it and covered the floors with drop cloths. They made sure not to let out our cat, they asked before playing music and played it softly, and were generally very professional. We they finished they put everything back in its place and vacuumed the room.

Joey, Tony and Sam were all a pleasure to work with. They arrived on time and called me to let me know when they were enroute and again when they were about 30 minutes away (per my request). I reached out to several other "A" graded electricians on Angie's List, and J&G were the most prompt to respond, not just to my initial inquiry, but all of my questions. We had an estimated one day job of 8-12 hours, which ended up being closer to 14. The price that was quoted, was the price I paid. The left my home clean and made sure I was aware of all he next steps and what I needed to do in terms of inspection and the utility company. What impressed me with them was how Joey was willing to go beyond his call of duty for us. We told him about some issues we were having with out contractor and needed to find a new one. Joey personally reached into his rolodex of people he'd recommend and find out if they were licensed to do work in our area. Unfortunately, none were, but the time he took to try to help us shows his wonderful character. I definitely will recommend J&G, Joey and his team to anyone who is in need of an electrician and I will absolutely give them a call next time I need work done.

I spoke with a gentleman who was on a job in a ladder and he provided the owner’s number for me to call for an appointment. The owner has yet to respond.

J & G sent two electricians to our house one master electrician and an apprentice (for the price of one). They were prompt, polite and professional. All the work was well executed. We will definitely use J & G again.

J&G Electric was easy to schedule an appointment with and get a quote upfront. Eric arrived on time and was friendly and courteous. We had 2 jobs to be done so I showed him what the issues were and he got to work. Everything was fixed quickly and he reviewed what he had done. Everything went so smoothly and Eric was one of the friendliest people in the service industries I have used. I will be happy to use him again and will be referring him to friends and family.

I contacted J and G to install an interlock kit for a portable generator hook-up. I spoke to Eric on the phone and he was very informative and knowledgeable about the work that had to be done. He quoted me a very reasonable price and scheduled the appointment. Eric and his assistant showed up in the time frame they provided and performed the work quickly and efficiently. They explained each step of the installation process to me and took care to make sure the finish product was neat and functional. Eric also diagnosed a problem with a light fixture at no charge and gave me advice on how to correct the issue. Overall, the work was excellent. J and G was on time and charged me exactly what was quoted. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will use them again in the future.

Eric is hands down our favorite electrician ever. He's not only good at his trade but charismatic too. We did a major kitchen remodel, that required us to upgrade our electrical panel as well. To make it more complicated, we also signed up for a reality do-it-yourself show (we did everything except the electrical and plumbing per D.C. regulations) and Eric was great about working around the camera crew while still getting his work done. He needed to come back at several points as we got the kitchen to more and more functioning levels and was great about fitting us in and prioritizing my need for a dishwasher! My favorite part was during filming when the inspector came and wanted to be portrayed as a stickler on TV and said something like, "Did you ensure the outlets are up to code blah, blah blah" and Eric responded in layman's terms with something like, "yes, they're all grounded". He was on time, easy to work with, honest and straight-forward about the costs, and generally a great contractor. I will never hesitate to call him for any electrical needs we have.

Eric and Sam were prompt, professional, friendly, and managed to take down my old ceiling fans and light fixture, put up the new ones, and clear away all of the old stuff in 2 hours. They explained everything they were doing clearly and made helpful suggestions. I was particularly impressed that Eric called this morning to give me an estimated time of arrival and to review what I was having done to make sure they had everything they needed in their van. I would definitely use J&G Electric again!

Eric Sut arrived on time. He was extremely courteous and professional. He had everything at hand and got the job done efficiently and quickly. While he was here, I asked him to take a look at a floor outlet that needed repair. He was very willing to do that and had the necessary parts in his truck. He was able to make the repair in the time he had alotted to the job and did not charge extra. I would highly recommend him for his work.

J&G Electric has become my go-to electricians. Joey and Tony came to my 1926 house before we moved in and corrected a range of problems, installed fixtures, and were persistent about trouble shooting--and there was a lot of trouble to shoot initially! The electrical systems had been jerry-rigged by the prior owner and many of the fixtures/wiring were on the scary side. Joey and Tony took care of everything and were very patient about answering questions and addressing concerns. Joey was very responsive about answering calls and emails and following up. Tony came back 2 more times to take care of other issues that cropped up. With this old house, I suspect that I'll be seeing more of J&G in the future.

Eric and his assistant arrived on time. Eric assessed the scope of work to be done and assured me that he would be able to install the dimmers I had purchased. Prior to setting the appointment I had explained a potential difficulty in enlarging the space to allow two side-by-side dimmer switches on plaster (1926) walls. The "team" was professional, polite, and competent. The installation went smoothly and they cleaned up afterwards. I am very pleased with the work that was done and would highly recommend this company.

The crew arrived on time and proceed doing their job. The cleaned up after themselves after they completed their work. I was doing house work and was not really aware they were there; they how good they were.

When I called J&G electric after finding it on Angie's List where the reviews were good, I got an idea of pricing for the job and scheduled a visit for a date within 2 weeks. Eric arrived as scheduled at 8am, removed the old vent, enlarged the ceiling space to accommodate to larger sized vent, installed the new one and cleaned up the area. He then took care of two minor lighting issues, one indoors and then disconnected the sensor for our outdoor light so that it could work without the sensor(which was useless)thus eliminating the need for a new fixture. I am extremely satisfied with the job done and I would call J&G again and request Eric. Thanks to Angie's List for the $50 off coupon.

Went fine from start to finish.

They are prompt and their know what they are doing, they are just professional. They don't try to up sell you. They also advised us about various options that we could use, their benefits and price. They are pretty easy-going.

J&G were great - they arrived on time and were very professional throughout! They were able to easily fix and replace a faulty outdoor light and showed me why it wasn't working. They also replaced a wired fire alarm that was constantly beeping and driving me crazy! I would definitely use them again.

I'm happy with their service. The electrician was very informative and friendly. I called J&G Electrical to get information. He asked me some questions about the specifics of the work I wanted done and then gave me an estimate over the phone. The person I spoke with gave me valuable advice that saved me time and money. We needed someone to fix a vanity light fixture, but we didn't know if it was the fixture or the wiring that was the problem. J&G gave me the price to diagnose and fix the problem if it was the wiring AND also the price to replace the fixture if it was not repairable. He suggested I have a replacement fixture in the house when he came, just in case he needed it, to ensure the work could be completed in one day. We also asked for estimates for some smaller, cosmetic jobs around the house. He gave us the break down of what each thing would cost, and even answered questions about the feasibility of doing one or two of those jobs ourselves. I called J&G back after buying the new fixture and scheduled the appointment. Eric came on time. He was polite and friendly (even to my very curious toddler). He quickly figured out the problem and fixed it. He even offered to take the old fixture to the garage for us.

The process of setting up the appointment was very easy. While Joey and his assistant got tied up at another client and were late - they continually contacted me to let me know when to expect them- rather than just showing up late while I was sitting around waiting for them like so many other service providers I've encountered. When they came they were completely ready for the job and very knowledgeable about how to make new equipment work in my old house. Joey even gave me a pair of gloves to use to hang the glass pieces of my chandelier so I wouldn't get finger prints on it. They were not just professional but really focused on making sure the client had a good experience. They explained everything they were doing and why. They were EXTREMELY clean and respectful of my furniture, walls etc... and did nothing without consulting me first. There was one small issue left that I was able to fix ( because they'd done such a good job of showing me what they were doing) after they left - I told Joey about it and he immediately sent me a refund for the cost of their service on that item - then he followed up again just to make sure it was still working properly. In DC this kind of client-focused service is extremely rare. So while things didn't go perfectly - and in DC with an old house - they rarely do - J&G handled the client experience perfectly and I will definitely be using them again.
