It could not have gone better. A+ in every detail. In fact, he recommended that I get a new fixture, rather than repair the old one, and did it at the the original price quoted for repair, including going out and getting a very nice fixture!

Working with Eric from J&G electric was a great experience. The whole process was smooth and efficient from when I first reached out to schedule an estimate to completion of the work. While he was giving the estimate, Eric made other suggestions that I had not thought of. As a new homeowner, I appreciated his insights and did not feel like he was trying to upsell me. He printed an itemized estimate as part of the visit so that I could pick and choose which items we wanted him to do. We had gotten three quotes for electrical work and price-wise, J&G electric came in the middle, but we went with them because of their reviews and our positive experiences interacting with Eric. The work was completed in a timely manner and Eric said everything comes with a 3-year warranty. We would hire this company again.

Fabulously well! Best electrician experience ever! And I'm 78 years old so I know whereof I speak! Eric was prompt, courteous, competent and efficient. Would definitely call them back for any electrical issues I have! And, I recommend them highly!

Eric did a great job fixing muiltple issues in my house. He was on time, professional, and commuitcated everything he was doing. This is the second time I have called J & G Electric Co Inc and I have been impressed both times. True professionals. Highly recommend.

When I called to schedule they were able to provide the pricing so I knew exactly what the final bill would be with no surprises - difficult to find such transparency from the outset. Excellent. Responded immediately to telephone call. Was able to arrive in approximately 20 minutes. Talked me through possible solutions over the phone before arriving. Eventually was able to fix the problem from the phone conversation. Did not charge for the service.

We’re happy with the results. The labor costs are a little pricey but It’s worth it if the fan is working correctly.

I called J&G when I lost power to my house in DC. Joey from J&G answered and diagnosed the problem over the phone. He suggested it was a PEPCO issue and that I call PEPCO, even giving the right terminology to use. I called PEPCO and turns out he was right - the issue was fixed soon after. Thanks for Joey's expertise and candor, I didn't have to hire an electrician and we knew what was wrong and how to get it resolved. Thanks J&G!

We contacted J&G Electric after determining that we needed an outlet for a new washing machine. Joey was very responsive and talked us through our options. Joey and Steve went above and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied with the project. Their flexibility and attention to customer service, combined with their professional expertise, made them an excellent choice for an electrician in the D.C. area. We look forward to working with J&G Electric again in the future.

It went well, I paid for two alarms; however, there was only space for one (hard wired alarm). So he also installed a carbon monoxide detector, which is great.

On the whole, my experience with J&G was terrific. Two days before Christmas, our outdoor outlet stopped working -- so no lights outside the house. When I called a couple days after Christmas, Eric answered promptly and fit me into his schedule two days later. Other electricians I called told me it would be at least a week before they could stop by. When he arrived (early), Eric diagnosed the problem and replaced the outlet in about five minutes. The cost (minimum for the visit, I guess) was higher than I thought it might be, but that was the only (slight) negative about my experience. So far, the outlet is working well.

They arrived late, but it is near Christmas in the DC area, and traffic can be pretty bad in the afternoon. Once they arrived they were finished pretty quickly.

Job went extremely well. Tony and Sharon were both very personable as well as very professional. Tony suggested the replacement lights which we ultimately selected. Tony and his helper were very meticulous about cleaning up and not leaving any untoward evidence of their ever being there.

It took a day but they got the job done, despite some unexpected surprises in our new home. Great work, friendly, and punctual.

I am very pleased with the work and the technicians (Joey and Craig) are the consummate professionals and very personable.

We hired them to rewire our kitchen and bathroom for a home renovation. No problems other than shoddy communication (the office manager never called me back after he promised to look into waiving the 3% credit card processing fee for the deposit) until the night before they were to start, when they left me a voicemail right before closing time saying they were considering cancelling their appointment the following morning because they "didn't believe that I could tell them where the light switches were supposed to go," and questioning my authority to approve anything necessary. Up until that moment they had been dealing with my boyfriend, who had to leave the country for work (as people tend to do in this area), but he instructed them in writing to work with me directly while he was away. I tried calling and emailing them to discuss the issue, but received no response. I had arranged to work from home for 2 days and was concerned they weren't going to show up, so the following morning I called again and finally talked with the owner. He told me he wasn't honoring the appointment because "I wasn't on his schedule" (despite confirming with the office manager days before). Then he told me he was out sick and that's why he didn't respond to my messages, and told me that "If I couldn't understand that then he wasn't sure he wanted to work with me." Then he told me that he didn't believe I knew where the light switches were supposed to go, and that I could actually approve anything since my boyfriend was away. When I pointed out that my boyfriend had emailed him directly asking him to work with me, he said "Up until that email I didn't even know [my boyfriend's name] even had a girlfriend. I thought he lived in that house by himself." He also accused us of 'poor planning' because my boyfriend had to travel when the electrician was supposed to come. Yes folks, this was an actual conversation with someone who we were going to PAY to do a service. The following day my boyfriend and I received a follow up email from the owner reiterating the points he made on the phone call, blaming the 'confusion'/issue on his illness and my boyfriend's travel and referring to me as 'very flustered'. Needless to say, we did not move forward with them.

Very well! Came before hours to fit us in immediately (within one day of contacting). Fixed a botch job from another electrician with ease. Took about 2 hours and he was in and out! Will be using for all of our electrical needs moving forward

Excellent, as most all wiring was previously done by homeowner with obvious limited knowledge which contributed to the extensive issues. Joey and his team took the time to trace and repair all issues to restore to code. This project took approximately 6 full days to complete, and was done with extreme professionalism, and explained all issues that were addressed and repaired. I would recommend them for any/all electrical issues.

Fantastic! Two person local company that is very responsive, friendly and knowledgeable! Was able to get fitted in for an appointment fast. Came by before normal business hours to get our job done with a busy schedule and completed the work within an hour! Very professional and super friendly! Will definitely be using for all of our electrical needs in the future! Neighborhood gem!

I called J & G Electric on a weekend to request emergency repair work. An actual person (Eric) answered the phone and was super helpful. The same person who answered the phone then came out to my property and quickly resolved the problem. I still needed to hire a plumber to fix the issue but getting power restored asap was essential to help diagnose the problem and get things back to operational. They made everything easy, from start to finish -- and even gave me a generous discount because they could not completely resolve the problem (even though it was not their fault). Wow. I will definitely be using this company again and highly recommend them for emergency and non-emergency electrical needs.

J & G did a great job from scheduling the appointment, getting the estimate, and having my light fixtures installed. James was my technician and he did an amazing job. The fixtures look great and there was no drywall damage at all. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again for any electrical needs.
