Excellent. Eric is the best: he knows how to solve problems and does so in a minimum of time. His work is superb. For the past years, he had done electrical work at four homes either owned by me or by my children. Never have we had a problem with him or his work. We all recommend him highly!!

Super professional. Gave me a general estimate on the spot for possible work cost. A little more than I wanted to spend at the time, but I would use them for any electrical need. Waited til we had a storm to post a review. Power flickered off, but no problems with electronics.
Description of Work: Installed a whole house surge protection unit. Also, I showed the men a few things I was thinking about doing. Installing outside lighting, track lighting, additional light switch etc.

Joey showed up exactly on time and finished the work in under two hours. I had him run power and coax for my TV, and all I expected was that he would run the cables and install the outlets. Joey not only did that, but he also reconnected my entertainment center and had all my furniture neatly returned to its place. He did a great job and I will hire him again for future jobs.
Description of Work: Repaired damaged outlets, and installed new outlets for power and coax.

I had to call J&G after being disappointed by a different company. The J&G dispatcher told me they were pretty booked but would have someone at the house, between 2-4pm. At 3pm, they called to say it would be closer to 6pm because the technician had run into unexpected issues at the prior customer site. At 6pm the owner Joey called and said that he, himself, would do the job since his guy was stuck with another customer's big problem. Joey arrived at 7pm, diagnosed the issues and had them all fixed by 8pm, He understood that the delays were annoying to any customers and he gave us a nice break on the price in recognition of that. The final impression was that they genuinely cared about all of their customers and would do whatever they could to make it work for all concerned. I plan on using them again.

Outside of being an electric company, by far this has been one of the best customer service experiences I have had - whether at a hotel, restaurant, or with a contractor, etc. Joey, the owner, is so conscientious, honest, and cares a great deal about his company's work and you - the customer's satisfaction. I called the company based on angie list reviews. Joey's team came out three times to do a range of work I already listed. His electricians are very knowledgeable, polite, hard-working, etc. Each time they came over - the work was done expeditiously and then I was given a thorough review of what happened and what was on the bill. I debated what to grade the company for price because we spent a considerable amount for all the repairs, but I didn't have a good comparison, and honestly if J&B is slightly higher than others (which I can't confirm), I pay for piece of mind that the work done to my house was done properly. On top of that, Joey was in constant email with me, returned my calls promptly, and followed after the work was completed. Honestly - it really can't get better than this, and wish every company we dealt with had such high standards for customer service. It makes such a difference!
Description of Work: We had a range of work done to the house to protect from lightning, which actually damaged some of our outlets and blew out a bathroom exhaust fan. We had two panel surge protectors installed; a ground rod installed; home safety inspection; circuit breakers replaced; and exhaust fan installed.

We are having work done to the exterior of the house, which tripped a circuit breaker as the workmen used an outlet which was on a circuit with other lights and receptacles. I called Mr. Belossi, who helped me troubleshoot the problem over the phone, and provided a simple solution (which I'm embarrassed to admit I should have caught on my own). He did this without a in home visit, and for free. Mr. Bellosi assured me he does this as a regular service for all his potential customers. Your first call for an electrical problem should always be to J & G Electric. If they can't fix it over the phone, it's worth a visit.
Description of Work: Mr. Joey Bellosi was incredibly helpful, patient and effective in helping me isolate a circuit problem over the phone.

My initial call was answered by Eric (on a Saturday afternoon) who was able to schedule the installation during that call and gave us an exact cost for the work. We were given a 2-hour window of time during which he would arrive. He indicated he would call 30-45 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment window to update us on his estimated time of arrival. He did this and arrived when he indicated he would. He immediately recognized the brand of fan and assured us he had previously installed a couple of them. He set right to work and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time. Upon completion he vacuumed the areas of our home that were affected by the work. He then presented us with an accurate invoice that included our Angie's List discount. Throughout the entire process Eric was friendly and professional. He provided us accurate information and did an excellent job installing our fans.

Eric was great - very professional and knowledgeable. He arrived before our scheduled appointment time, worked efficiently, did high-quality work, and cleaned up everything when he was finished. We are very pleased with everything he did for us. We will definitely use J&G again!

I used an Angie's Big Deal for this work. The electrician and his assistant arrived on time, worked very efficiently, were pleasant and professional. When installing the kitchen light fixture, the electrician reconnected the out-of-service fan; I appreciated his initiative. I definitely will use their services again.

Electrician was nearly an hour early for the appointment. He wanted to make sure all parts were at the site, and he wanted to be there when Potomac Edison showed up to kill the power at the transformer. Potomac Edison was two hours late, but the electrician stayed in the area. The work was done quickly and well. I highly recommend this company.

I called with what I thought was an emergency situation. Eric was very calm, walked me through the issue, and was very upfront about being able to come out at night and the costs associated with it, but assured me that it was not a needed expense for me. He came out this morning instead, and service was quick and excellent! He was able to reassure us that although we do need more work, it is not as emergent as we feared. When we do need to have the additional services done, I will be calling back for Eric!

I called and left a message. My original message was never returned even though they promise to return all calls within the same day. I called back several days later and left another message, this time Jory called me back and coincidently claimed he was about to call me. I then asked about their services and if they could give me an estimate. Joey was unwilling to send someone to actually look at my house and instead asked some vague questions about what it looked like. As I am not an electrician we talked past one another and he was very impatient. He then gave an estimate but without seeing my home and the work to be done I am not sure where the figures he quoted me came from. I did not choose this company and frankly it seemed as if they were uninterested in my business. Perhaps they are making so much money they don't need another client! I would say their customer relations need a lot of work. Ere are many 'A' rated electricians and I would choose one of those.
Description of Work: I called for estimate. I wanted a coaxial cable outlet installed and a floor plug installed. I did not choose this company for the work.

I believe our public relations as well as our professionalism prove why we are an A+ rated as you see throughout all of our reviews. In reference to the estimate that was given over the phone, the Master Electrician (Joey) whom you spoke with has over 30 years of experience and through emails and phone conversations we are able to give prices over the phone. This in turn saves the customer money that helps us keep our overhead low and lowers the bottom line. We have been performing this type of service since the technology with emails, pictures taken and reviewed on a computer has become available. We do offer in home estimates at a charge of $99.00, however this is rarely necessary. We do credit the customer back the $99.00 if the work is opted. It is unfortunate that J & G Electric Co., Inc, has scored low with this client, however you cannot always please everyone, although we try.

I can't thank Joey at J&G Electric enough for his help in getting the power restored at our house in DC. He was responsive, service-oriented and tenacious in getting to a solution. Once the problem became Pepco's to solve, Joey stayed on the case and advocated strongly for me to make sure Pepco did what they needed to do in a timely manner. While a couple of times, we had to enlist Joey late at night, he always made us feel like our care was his first priority. Joey will be my "go to" electrician.
Description of Work: Assist with getting permanent connections made to 2-unit property after Pepco disconnected service due to safety concerns.

I obtained 4 quotes and J&G was very competitively priced. There was one company that came in less, but they weren't nearly as responsive as Eric and the amount of cutting they were planning to do in my ceiling would have cost me a lot more to repair. From the day Eric returned my first call I found him to be incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. He had great suggestions and was really creative about finding solutions. I have an old house and some electricians that I called gave me a lot of stories about why things couldn't be done -- or how incredibly expensive it would be because of the age of the house. There was no such nonsense with Eric. Moreover, he was so patient and responsive when I called with a number of follow-up questions (some of the others took days or never returned calls). When it came to actually performing the work, Eric was as professional, responsive and capable as he was during the estimate phase. He was on time, neat (to the extent he could be--and then cleaned up when the time came) and his work was meticulous. He patched up most of the holes he had cut -- which is extremely unusual for an electrician to do (he said he just hates leaving things looking incomplete). The work was outstanding. Everything looks beautiful and works perfectly. Bottom line: I could not be happier. I have more electrical work that I will need done soon and I have found the company that I plan to use for all of it.
Description of Work: Installed 8 recessed lights, 1 outdoor fixture, moved a bathroom light and replaced 5 old switches with new switches.

I had an excellent experience with Joey and Tony from J & G Electric, and I would definitely recommend their services. They always returned my emails and phone calls quickly, and they showed up for each appointment on time. On his first visit, Tony replaced a defective outdoor light fixture and provided advice on what kind of other outdoor lighting I might find useful. On his second visit, Tony installed a new outdoor light fixture that perfectly lights up the dark entrance to my apartment whenever I approach it. I had a problem with this new light at first, and as soon as I told J & G Electric, they came back immediately and fixed the problem free of charge. Great service!
Description of Work: Installed new motion-sensitive outdoor lighting for my apartment.

After conferring with me for quite some time via telephone, Joey of J & G concluded that for this problem I needed a plumber to likely attend to a hot water heater. He provided the number of the company but also called ahead to let them know of my set up and, spoke with me afterwards to ensure that I was happy with the work and that all was working fine. During a prior visit, Joey corrected electrical problems there since the building had been renovated, explained the conditions causing the problem, suggested an economical and very safe solution. It meant a lot to me that he spent that much time, understood why the problem had been reoccurring, and fixed things without much fuss (and made sure there was no debris left behind!). My overall experience has been one of reliability, over and above professionalism and affordability. Thank you, Joey and J & G!
Description of Work: Joey of J & G followed up on my late Friday afternoon call the same day and spent considerable time on the phone with me. Although it had been some time since he was last out (and he had already shut his computer down for the day), he astoundingly remembered my set up and made appropriate suggestions for a new issue, including calling a plumber also rated highly on Angie's List. His interest in my safety and well-being is considerably noteworthy.

I'm sorry to even write this review. They get excellent Angie's List ratings, so maybe i just got Tony on a really bad day and our experience was hopefully not the normal. I called J&G this morning when I realized half my basement outlets weren't working. Our basement recently flooded, and we are doing major repairs. Joey was extremely helpful - in fact, he was great on the phone and I thought this would all be fine. Tony and Ron came to our house the same day, which is really great, and they were earlier than expected. Unfortunately that's where the good ends. Joey had informed us over the phone that to test the circuit it would cost $340, which we were aware of and OK with. I let Tony in and he came down to the basement and saw that we were installing drywall (the bottom 16 inches of drywall was removed from around our basement after the flood and we are replacing it). Tony immediately said that he was pretty sure we had hit a wire when hammering in the drywall and that was the problem. We had a bunch of stuff near the breaker box (everything salvageable from the basement was stacked in a corner, but the box is accessible as we had already tried flipping the breaker switches, etc). Tony asked us to clear a bigger path for him, and I told him that I would, but that I would like to hear what he planned to do first.....we may be extraordinarily inexperienced, but thanks to the internet and you tube we had tried some simple things at least. Tony's response was that he was going to check the breaker and if that didn't fix the problem then he was sure we had hit a wire. I asked what would happen then, and he responded that they would need to tear out all the drywall we had just installed last night to find which wire we had hit. This shocked me for a minute since this would be a huge deal to tear out everything we just did. So, needless to say, this sounded terrible. He then told me that no matter what he was going to charge me $190 even if he didn't do anything at all (i.e. for stepping for in the house). At this point, he had been in the house for less than five minutes, and hadn't even asked which outlets weren't working. I told Tony I was never aware of a $190 charge to walk into my house and I truly didn't know what to do. Tony then started talking about how it was Friday and he had rearranged his schedule to fit us in, but that he could just leave. I realized this was not turning into a pleasant interaction and said OK, please go. Thankfully, he left. Joey called a few minutes later to try to find out what happened, but I was honestly too upset to carry on a conversation with him, as the interaction had been so unpleasant and at this point figured I had ruined my basement's electricity when putting up drywall (i swear i was careful, and all of the outlets were above where the drywall had been cut . . . so no wires in sight. Tony didn't give us a chance to explain this or much at all). After an hour or so of staring at the drywall wondering which pieces to start taking off first, I realized things didn't make sense. I was pretty sure I hadn't hit anything. So I you tubed and googled some more stuff and turned off the breaker and took all my outlets off that weren't working. There was an outlet with a loose ground wire. Nowhere near the new drywall. I tightened the wire and everything was fixed. Completely fixed. Maybe Tony wasn't really planning on tearing off my drywall if switching the breaker didn't work? Maybe he had at some point been planning on actually testing the outlets? I have no idea. He could have been a hero to me and made a quick $340 if his plan had not been to switch the breaker and then tear out drywall since he was so sure that was the problem. Kind of wish I had just spent more time google'ing things before calling the experts since this was really not a great experience. But, they do get great reviews from everyone else, so maybe Tony was just really not happy to be at work this Friday. By the way, when Joey called, he told my partner that he was willing to come out on his own on Monday free of charge. We declined at the time because we were too upset about the whole thing, but it does speak very highly of Joey. He seems to really care and tries to run a good company.... **ADDENDUM (7/15/2013). I received a phone call today from another staff member (Stephanie) at J&G....they really do seem to care and they were very apologetic for what happened. Between Joey and Stephanie, I think my experience last week truly was just bad luck and not reflective of this company as a whole. They responded to my concerns in an extremely professional and respectful manner, and I really appreciate it. Their response and honesty with me is something I haven't seen in other companies, so despite my unfortunate interaction last week, J&G electric seems like a good, fair company that tries to do the right thing.
