Very courteous. Called hour ahead of arrival to assure promptness of appointment. Well prepared and equipped using carpet covers and booties to keep area clean. Tackled a more difficult work environment than anticipated, ie steep roof sloop and no flooring under attic fan to provide work space - without complaint or irritation. Extremely professional and polite. Company site list provided better service coupon than Angie's List. Very patient with me while my printer took time printing out coupon. Would definitely recommend and would call them again if needed!

I have used 3 different electricians since I moved into my new house in January 2013. J&G will be my last. Last year, J&G installed a number of fixtures and repaired some indoor lights. They were terrific, so I brought them back to do some outdoor work for this summer. I had Eric last year, and requested him again for this job. Once again, he was terrific. He came by a week before the job to provide an estimate- he was very flexible on setting the appointment, and took his time looking at everything. He installed everything perfectly and it looks great. But what's impressed me most is what's happened since. One week after the installation, one of the outdoor blubs blew out. I called J&G and left a message for Eric. He got back to me within an hour, and came over the next day to replace the bulb for free. Then this past week, the power went out in our house and when it came back on, the indoor timer wasn't functioning properly. Called Eric again, he came over the next day, replaced the timer, and even checked out a separate issue I'd been having with a pool light. Again, no charge. I have recommended J&G (and especially Eric) to a few of my neighbors and I will continue to do so. They are fantastic.

The installation went well. Dan was very professional and courteous, and the outlets look as if they had always been there. However, even knowing the price beforehand, I still thought it was a bit steep.

Eric took my initial call and performed a punch list-worth of electrical work for us. He was punctual and professional, gave an itemized list of charges for each task within the project and completed the work in an efficient manner. Eric was friendly, competent, and cleaned up after each task. We highly recommend Eric at J&G Electric to homeowners in the DC area.

Amazingly, when I called, they had someone downtown and were able to send him same day, so went home from work a couple hours later to meet him. He quickly identified the problem (happily it appeared to be straight forward) and fixed the wiring/circuit. Especially given how quickly it was resolved, we were very happy with the service. It was a very short appointment.

Danny was terrific. He showed up early (thank you!), and was very knowledgeable, efficient, and competent.

Whole process went excellently. Joey, the owner, was in immediate communication, eliciting my circuit breaker details to ensure that the proper installation could be achieved. Dan, the serviceman, arrived on time and carried out the installation in a notably professional and expedient manner. Joey called later to make sure that everything had gone well. Well, it sure did, and I would definitely use J & G Electric Co. again in the future.

He fixed the bathroom light switch, it took all of 15 minutes, did not even require the circuit board to be shut off. The price quoted was $350 because of my description of what needed to be done (a neighbor and a friend told me what they thought needed to be done, remember I am a widow of 75 years who knows nothing of electric stuff) and he still charged me the quoted price even though it was a simple repair. He told me he could not adjust the price to the normally charged price of $125. I am NOT happy about it at all. I used them because my regular electrician was on vacation for 2 weeks and I needed it fixed much sooner than that. I am not sure if I would use them again but if I did I would do things differently and wait for them to come out and tell me what the problem is and go from there. The person was polite, efficient, and very knowledgeable.

Both items were done by Eric who displayed professionalism and knowledge of the issues. He is a talented individual who has excellent customer skills. Would use them anytime I have electrical needs.

Went very well. Eric answered the call while on the road and had to call me back, which he did quite promptly. He was able to get me same day scheduling, for which I was grateful as the circuit affected controlled my overhead and under cabinet kitchen lights - really hard to cook and clean up in the dark! . He also told me what the contemplated work would cost, which was a bit over $300.00 but would include the service call and the time for replacing the dimmer or circuit breaker if needed and that additional work would be extra. Quote was a bit more than I'd expected, but it's been a while since I had an electrician do work, so I assume costs have gone up and I needed the job done today. Electrician arrived during scheduled time window; changed out the dimmer which I had supposed was the cause of the breaker tripping and not going back on; found that breaker still tripped and investigated further, having to remove and replace two recessed soffit fixtures to find the mouse munched wire; replaced the wire; cleaned up and went on. He was here about 2 hours. Electrician was very nice. I now have LIGHT! Price was higher than original quote because of the additional work. I took advantage of their cupon, which helped. I like their 'per job' pricing, although additional work does mount up and the actual cost of the dimmer was part of the extra. I was quite pleased with the service. I called J&G because of their good reviews on this List and the fact that they are based not too far from me. I will call them again next time I need an electrician.

Dan (the technician) did a superb job. He showed up right on time and had the whole job finished in under 2 hours, and he cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. The new fan and thermostat seem to be working great!

I had to have them come out and redo something this spring. I am still having some issues with the outlet outside because it keeps tripping and I need to call them back again. They have checked with me a couple of times to see how it was doing but at the time when they checked, it was working fine. They were very professional except that the individual who took the first order and did the initial work failed to write down that he did the outdoor outlet. So initially the guy who came for the follow up visit did not want to fix it because it wasn’t on the original invoice but he agreed to do that after an argument. I was a little annoyed because he thought that I wasn’t truthful with him but it was his worker’s fault.

Job 1 went well--the electrician showed up as needed to remove and the restore the electrical connections. However, he failed to fix one of the lamps (part of Job 3) and his supervisor had to return to fix it. Job 2 was a problem--the cell did not work after it was installed and it took two visits to get it right. However, they did get it right in the end and were good at coming back as promised. The other parts of jobs 3 and job 4 went very smoothly without a hitch.

I called J&G based on their excellent reviews here on Angie's List. A breaker in my electrical box that controls most of my basement lights had tripped a couple times in the past year. Each time, I was able to reset the breaker. However, last weekend the breaker tripped again and I was unable to reset it. Obviously, something was really wrong because the breaker was tripping on its own when no one was using the lights and plugs it controlled. I called J&G on Tuesday and was very efficiently scheduled for Thursday, between Noon and 2pm. At about 8:30 on Thursday morning, Dan called to say that he'd finished his first job earlier than expected and could begin my job earlier. That was fine with me so we agreed to a 9:15 start time. Dan arrived right on schedule and was polite and professional. He listened to my description of the issue and set about trying to find the cause. After about an hour of checking wiring connections all through the basement, removing plugs, removing light fixtures, etc., he found the "bad" wire which was causing a short in the system. He replaced a switch, repaired the bad wiring and the problem was solved! During the course of his work, we chatted about electrical projects and I mentioned that I had a Post Light that hadn't worked for a couple years and that a previous electrician attempted to fix it, could not and told me that I would have to rewire the post. This was expensive because it required digging a trench to bury the wires between the house and the Post Light. Dan offered to call his boss to see if his schedule could be adjusted a little to allow him time to troubleshoot the Post Light. His boss agreed and after about 30 minutes of troubleshooting, Dan had restored light to my Post Light! I was beyond thrilled!!! Dan is clearly a very skilled electrician. I have one remaining electrical project and plan to schedule with J&G and Dan (although Dan told me that he can honestly recommend all their electricians and that if he is not available I would be in great hands with any of the other guys!) within the next couple of weeks. Based on my experience, if you have an electrical issue, J&G is an excellent choice and WILL solve the problem.

The electrician working on our project, Eric, was - and is - a total dream to work with. He did the work according to our at times ridiculous construction schedule, was prompt, professional, flexible with scheduling meetings, and extraordinarily responsive to our questions. Every time I've had even a smidgen of a problem, even now, long after the project is finished, Eric answers his phone, helps me trouble shoot, and even helps me make repairs. It's really really sensational. I have worked with dozens of contractors, and J&G Electric stands out as the one that exceeds my expectations every time.

He was great. He was very nice. I didn't more than the big deal.

Eric from J&G found time in his already busy schedule to accomomdate the service request and showed up first thing the next morning. He took the time to educate me on the work he was performing and the work performed was excellent and done in a very professional manner. I would recomment J&G to others and if I have the need, they will certainly be a provider I contact in the future.

The service was excellent. The technician came out, fixed the problem promptly, he knew what it was, he was very polite, and they showed up on time. I had no problems with the services and I would use them again. I didn't think the price was exorbitant. They came out and I haven't had a problem. They came out on a holiday.

This was the first time I called J&G. I selected them based on Angie's List reviews. Eric returned my call promptly, and he provided me the estimated costs over the phone. Eric arrived promptly on the scheduled date, and completed the work professionally. Eric was friendly, knowledgable, and courteous during our initial phone conversation and during the service work.

This is my second time using J&G Electric. Again they provided excellent service. The electrician, Dan, was very professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. He quickly removed the old ceiling fans and installed the new ones. The first ceiling fan was going to hang down much lower than the one he removed. Instead of just installing the new fan, Dan asked me to come into the room, and showed me how much lower the new fan would hang. I was able to get the correct installation kit from the store where I bought the fans, while Dan installed the others. Dan was focused on completing the job correctly, rather than just completing the job. And in true J&G fashion he cleaned up the four work areas when he was finished. I would recommend J&G and Dan for your electrical needs.

Punctual arrival, professional interaction, pricing matched the estimate, work performed well, very satisfactory results. I am in favor of their pricing approach - work estimated by quantity and type instead of hours so you know there is an incentive to get it done on time and right the first time.

A few days ago, my ceiling fan and lights in my kitchen went off due to a short circuit. I called J & G Electric. Mr. Eric Sut answered the phone. He very patiently explained to me what were the possible problems and what we needed to do. He scheduled a time immediately, trying very hard to make sure the time is the best fit to my busy schedule. When he came, he carefully checked the whole system. He got all done very quickly. He is nice, very knowledgeable, very patient and highly professional. After the contracted work was done, he noticed an output in kitchen did not work well. He quickly fixed it. He insisted not charging for that additional work. Mr. Sut is truly great. I think from now on, he will be the first one that I will call when I need a professional electrician.

I will absolutely call Joey for future electrical needs. He was incredibly knowledgeable and willing to explain everything to me so that I could understand. Unlike some of the other electricians I called, Joey actually told me that it wouldn't be cost effective to have the work done that I was inquiring about. With that, he completely gained my trust as I know he would not tell me I need to have something done unless it really needs to be done. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
