House Cleaning

I was satisfied when they left, but later when I was looking under my sink, I realized that my large bottle of Windex was missing and replaced with two small bottles of Windex.  One was 1/2 full.  Also, inexplicably, my Palmolive dish soap was also gone.  In addition, I was inspecting the downstairs family room and noticed a spider web and debris by the fireplace that were entirely missed.  I do not think that they did this  floor as I also saw dust bunnies in another location.    I took pictures of the glaring omissions and emailed the company on July 20, 2012.  As of today, July 31st, I have yet to receive a reply. .
I did initial the form that was presented to me that the work wqas performed, but I am sorry I did not do a closer inspection of the downstairs family room.  The rooms they did clean were done well, except they missed the dust bunnies under the bed in one of the upstairs bedrooms.  I would have hired them again, but not now since there was no response to my email -- which included the pictures I took.

House Cleaning
Like others above, I bought a deal through Livingsocial for this company.  I paid for a three room house cleaning.
Now, the only mitigating factor here is that I did wait until about 2 months before the deal was set to expire, which I'm sure it was a lot of people do, and contributes to the rush of business that makes for a poor experience.  So that's a small excuse, but it really doesn't excuse most of the problem at all.
First contact took about 4 phone calls, one of which was to LivingSocial who called the company.  They reported that she answered immediately, and would call me back.  She did within 15 minutes.  It makes me sad that when she saw Livingsocial on her caller ID, she hopped to it.  But three calls (and voicemails) from a new client over a few days weren't enough to merit a call back.
That's when she explained to me that they were really busy with the work from the LS deal, and that they had no openings the week I was hoping to have it done.  That was understandable, there's only so much you can do with 8 hours in the day.  She suggested that I could wait until after the deal was expired when the rush would die down a bit.  It gave me pause (because she gets paid by LS for unused deals when the deal expires, so she would already be paid if we did that) but since there really was no other option, I agreed.  We set up the appointment for about a month later, on June 28.
On June 23rd or earlier I called and left a message (as usual) asking to reschedule since no one would be home the day we planned (the 28th).  She emailed back saying that she was happy to reschedule.  I emailed back saying that actually, if she could promise me the 1-3 time slot, I could do it.  She said she could not promise that time slot because the schedule had not been set yet.  My next email said ok, let's keep it on the schedule anyway.  Her next email said exactly this: "So just to clarify ... we are keeping the Thursday June 28th appointment ... right"
I said "yes".  She replied "ok"
The 28th came and went.  I emailed the next day asking exactly what the miscommunication was.  I emailed again the next two days.  Then I gave up.
Finally on July 15 I got an email.  "OMG Cameron ... I found you email in SPAM!  I am so very sorry ... I also looked at your appointment and it still read "CLIENT CANC WCB RESCH"  .... please allow us to reschedule your appointment ... let me know when you are next available... "
So after emailing back and forth a handful of times, her spam filter got aggressive.  Do you believe that?  Because I don't.  And despite her confirmation that we were on for the 28th, somehow her scheduling system failed her.
So we have two choices here.  Total operational incompetence or just a liar.  You can take your pick, either one would be enough to cause me not to work with the company again and tell anyone I know (and don't hate) to run.
Amazingly, Livingsocial gave me a refund when I gave them the story.  So at least I have a good feeling for them.

Yes, I recommend this pro
$60
It is full-service cleaning service.  They were professional and on time.  They did a good job.  They don?t give you a specific time for when they will be here.

It went pretty bad. First, my date was canceled because of some calamity with the crew. Second, despite re-assurances, "I'll make it up to you," by Dee, the job was crap. I bought a LivingSocial coupon deal for $60 and scheduled for pre-holiday cleaning as my family was coming in town. Dee sold me the $7 each service for fridge cleaning and oven cleaning - so extra $14, OK. They didn't call until 6 p.m. or so to TELL me my house was "missed" due to crew calamity; well, I knew by then. Her message said she'd have to SEE if they could squeeze me in the next day -- oh, I think you'll be squeezing me in and how. Dee and I talked at 7:30 in the morning and she apologized profusely and went on for 15 minutes or more with the story about all the craziness that happened with the crew and the alarm went off on a house and there were fire trucks and ............... OK, well, fine and I don't mind a little chat, I sympathized, asked how everyone was, etc. but DO A GOOD JOB IN MY HOUSE! Contents of the refrigerator were thrown back in willy-nilly, knocking over maple syrup which leaked ........ guess that "extra service" was wasted money. Oven was clean. Kitchen floor was clean but dull? What about a little Mop 'n' Glow there, pals? Stove burners were not cleaned. Stove itself was. Ceiling fans x4 were untouched, blinds were open, probably so I couldn't readily see that they'd not dusted them. Counter vanity area I'd spent half an hour cleaning off the night before was untouched - do they have a 5-item rule or something? I guess not because the shelves in my son's bedroom that were bare weren't even wiped. Bathroom vents untouched and nasty with dust. Doorway tops dusty and untouched. Spider webs in corners both on the floor, ceiling and walls. Yes, vacuuming was done (forgot to check the stairs, darn) and mopping and shower/toilets and mirrors. Somehow I thought Dee would call to check on the job being that we'd become pals chatting on the phone that morning, but nope, no follow up. Here's the kicker, I purposely left them a $50 tip so they would do a good job! I think that's a pretty hefty tip for one visit! I can't be sure, I don't use housekeeping services regularly, but if I were one of the two crewmembers on duty, I'd be pretty psyched to collect $25 just for doing my job which I'll get paid for anyway! So, very long story short, I was disgusted and won't use them again.
