Holt Electrical Contractors Inc

Jim Holt came and described available generators and the steps in getting one installed. We signed the contract on 12/22/13 and the process began. We needed to have a basement cabinet removed, a new gas meter installed, and large shrubs removed from the generator site. After this was all done and Holt was able to come in and start work everything went well. The unit went on-line 3/4/14, basically after winter was over but that was because, not appreciating all the steps, we started the process too late. This wasn't Holt's responsibility at all. The unit itself has worked during the 2 or 3 outages we've had since March. We're very satisfied with the job so far. Note, I've only rated them lower on price. We had 3 bids and they were not the lowest, but we decided we liked the Kohler unit better than others and went with Holt.

They were wonderful, very polite, very professional. They completed the estimate and were very descriptive of the work that would be needed. They were also responsive to all of my questions and educating me on the entire process. Unfortunately, their estimate was approximately $9000, or 43% higher than the other 3 estimates that we received. I called to explain to them why we would be going with another company, and it was purely because we couldn't justify the additional $9000, and they couldn't lower their price to anywhere close to the other 3 companies. They thanked me for my feedback, and made themselves available for opportunities in the future. I just wish their prices had been lower, more in line with other companies.

Service staff arrived on time, performed the work, were very polite and professional, explained exactly what they had done. The generator now works perfectly.

No issues from beginning to end. Answered any questions I had. Very knowledgeable.

They were fine. They were informative and did a thorough job.

They were just good, they had a very competitive price, but thy didn't pay attention to detail, meaning I needed them to label all of the plugs for the electrical outlet downstairs and they took a short cut, other than that everything else was good.

Mr. Nolan Duncan guided us through the project which included a surge protector and circuit upgrade. The project started in March 2013. It was completed in September. Delays were due to the upgrade, our summer vacation and scheduling required inspections. Mr. Duncan and all the service personnel were polite, knowledgeable and professional. We recommend Holt to other customers in the market for a Kohler generator.

Very well done, from the very beginning to end. Meticulous workmanship. Engaging; very responsive; most professional. Did all the coordination necessary re permitting. Very thorough start-up.

We had an exhaust fan replaced and outdoor light and ceiling fan installed. Patrick H. came out and was so clean and took his time to do the job right. There was nothing they did that we didn't like.

The only delay was waiting for the Kohler generator to be delivered. These were on back-order due to recent publicity about storms and power outages. Once the generator was set, Holt worked very efficiently, including coordinating all county inspections. The installation is very neat and well organized. The Holt estimator, office schedulers and all electricians who worked on our project were courteous, effective and a pleasure to work with. We also obtained a bid from the other Kohler installation contractor in our area. Holt was the clear winner in every respect.

The gentleman who did the estimate also pointed out a problem with another light fixture, but encouraged me to replace that myself. He offered to help me if necessary. In addition to doing a fine job on the replacement of the wiring, he also checked all the house;s smoke alarms to be sure that they were functioning and had good batteries. He also looked at the placenebt of my outdoor holiday lights for safety reasons.

I would recommend it. He did a very thorough investigation to find the problem and fixed it. After he fixed it he also checked all of the smoke detectors in our house.

They are very good. They are very professional. It is an eight-year old generator and needed a lot of work done and they are coming back for that. We have scheduled them to come two weeks from now. We are not interested in using any company other than them because of their professionalism. They were very honest and very open. They are trying to make the generator last as long as possible to save us money. We are very happy with them. I did not get any other estimates to compare prices since I trust them so much. I just trust them because they have done such a good job in the past.

It was excellent. I was pleased with their determination and tenacity throughout the job, and I'm very pleased with their work as well.

The electrician showed up for the appointment five minutes early and began work promptly after walking through what needed to be done from our estimate about 4 weeks prior. After completing the contract work, we kept him on the clock to fix a few other things we wanted done in the house. It went very smoothly. The technician had several years of experience and it showed, he took his time and did the job completely. This was a great experience.

They were excellent. They were very timely, and they did what needed to be done. There were no hidden fees.

When I called, I was given a next day appointment, between the hours of 9 and 11 AM. The technician arrived at my door at 10 AM. He removed the old fixture within minutes and had the new one installed in half an hour. He was communicative and pleasant, consulting with me about the height of the fixture from the floor, and showing me how to fasten and remove the glass globe of the new fixture. The price was right. The service was efficient and cheerful. I couldn't be more pleased.

Let me tell you, this company is top-notch! I called and told them what I thought we needed and asked about the cost. With no hesitation they offered to come and give me an estimate. We scheduled it. In plenty of time they telephoned to say there was an emergency and asked to re-schedule. (note they didn't wait until they time they were to be at our home, but called in plenty of time) We received an estimate promptly; the service person arrived exactly on time both times he came; they were cheerful, professional and very neat. Everything was cleaned up both times that they came. I cannot say enough how happy we are with this company.

It went extremely well. We received an estimate quickly and the work was performed 4 days later (per our request). The Electrician was very professional; knowledgeable and friendly. He had a co-worker with him who was just as nice and professional. We were very pleased with the quality of the work.

They did fine. Contract Electric came out to check things out for their job and approved of Holt's work. They were very responsive and seemed to do very good work.

This was the first time I had used their services. It went well. I called them up and spoke to Mr. Holt and he made a promise to send a technician within 48 hours. He showed up and did the work. They communicate well and I am totally satisfied.

The electrician was punctual, professional and he cleaned up after the job was done. He did a great job and would ask for him to come back for more electrical work. Also, I was given an estimate of how much the job would cost and how long it would take to complete; in the end, the price and time were right on target. There weren't any surprises.

They came out, did the work &, after the work was done, they said it was about $1000 more than what they told me in the estimate. They said there was more work that I needed to have done. The work would have been $3700 but only $3200 if I did it that day. I told them I would have another company give me an estimate & I would call them back. The other company that gave me another estimate said it would only cost $75 & did not need as much work as this company had said.

They showed up within their time window. Polite. They determined that the light switch was bad. They did not have any light switches in the truck. They went to a store to buy a light switch. They charged me for the time it took to go purchase the light switch. An electrician coming to a residence that is complaining that a light doesn't work, and they don't carry any light switches with them? Then they charge me for the time it takes to go get a light switch.

We were very unhappy with the technician they sent. He seemed somewhat inexperienced and it took him a long time to do the work. We had to renegotiate with the contractor about the price.
