Germantown Heating & Air Conditioning

I have two systems at two family homes from Germantown HVAC. Excellent competitive pricing - very good service - the owner is involved - technicians are well trained - phone-staff is helpful - I've never had a problem with (the rare, but occasionally necessary) appointments in the course of the last 10 years. Technicians are fast, and pricing per half hour is very reasonable. You really can't go wrong.

I had scheduled an HVAC maintenance appointment for July 22, 2024. I called and was assured that the technician would arrive on time. However, after waiting for hours, no one showed up. When I called back, I was informed that the appointment had been canceled, and they claimed to have left me a voicemail. I checked my voicemail, and there was none. Clearly, the representative on the phone was lying. They have no concern about the customer's time and gives a s*** about it. It is very unprofessional to cancel an appointment without informing the customer and then lie about it. Save your time and look elsewhere; there are plenty of other companies in the county that will do a good job.

On a scale of 1-10 I'd give them 10. I've been with them since I bought my unit. I would recommend them.

Company representative provided clear and helpful information about available alternatives, and a comprehensive estimate. The work was scheduled and competed on time with a minimal disruption of the household. Follow up calls were answered promptly.

We've been very happy with them. I'm very satisfied with them. They do electronic air cleaners, humidifiers; for people who have allergies they have those humidifiers. They are very polite and efficient. When they say they will be back the next day with the part, they came back the next day. They are dependable, and reasonable in price too. The price wasn't perfect but they were reasonable to us.

Great. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. We've been working with them for a few years now, and they've been terrific every time. We feel like they've made it easy and saved us money both in their comparatively low costs, in their recommendations, and in our heating and a/c bills after the new system was put in.

The price is very reasonable. I haven’t compared the price. I have an appointment with them this Thursday. I have had them for 7 years. I have a service contract, so my out of pocket had already been paid for.

For both works, their technicians were very professional and helpful. They were punctual and responsive. They fixed the problems. The quality of work was great. The service charges were very reasonable. We have been using Germantown Heating and Air for various heat pump issues for a while. They are simply one the best heating and cooling companies in this area.

Very professional and easy to deal with, even after they had to add me to an already full schedule on the hottest day of the year. They fixed it right away for a decent price, and let me know that the lifespan of my 30-yr-old AC unit was usually around 15 years. I will definitely call them again (but hopefully not too soon).

Everyone at Germantown Heating and Air Conditioning was very professional. I scheduled an estimate to have our gas furnace and air conditioner replaced. Cecil was on time and the quote he provided was very fair. They were able to get our system installed a few days later. The crew that installed our system was prompt and clean. We are very pleased with the service we received from Germantown Heating and Air Conditioning.

This was the first time that I used this company. I found that the service man, Joe, was prompt, very courteous, and very knowledgeable. He took time to answer my questions, and showed that he really cared about providing great service. Based on this, I requested and sign a service agreement for the year.

All my contacts with Germantown Heating and AC were. excellent. Very responsive on the phone. They were able to schedule me when I wanted.I was given a time window between 10 - 1pm. The office called at 10:30 am to report Paul was just leaving a job in Gaithersburg and would be arriving soon. Paul was professional and friendly. He was very knowledgeable and kept me posted as he checked my system. I was happy to hear he had the necessary part in his truck to get my AC up and running again. In under two hours I was back in business and Paul was out the door. I was a great experience and I will call them again if needed. I really don't like having strangers in my house but Paul put me at ease. I would request him in the future.

Within an hour or so after my phone call for help, Germantown H&AC sent over Mike, who found that the ignitor was cracked, which explained why the air wasn't warm in our house. He was able to replace the part and get our old furnace running again.

The cost approximately $10,000. They did a good quality job, they were very professional, and they went out of their way to keep the cost down. It was a gas conversion so they had to run the new gas line through the house to our furnace, which requires a plumber. They went out of the way to hire a plumber who would give us the best price, getting estimates from two different plumbers. The job was not entirely straightforward due to some constraints on where they could run the gas line and exhaust line through my house. They were able to handle these complexities. Finally they removed my old oil tank, a difficult job. I was very satisfied.

They were very responsive and down to earth. They did all those things in the list.

The Sunday morning emergency on call service tech was responsive and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem.

These guys are great! Honest and dependable. They were not able to work on our unit because it was not compatible with their tools, but the technician went up on the roof, looked at the unit in our office, and spent a bit of time trying to figure out if they could work on it or not. I will call them for all our residential heating and a/c needs!

Germantown Heating has been doing routine maintenance on our heating and AC unit the last two years. A few weeks ago, they came out for the winter check and found that our circuit board wasn’t work and needed to be replaced. The cost would be $700. Given it was a 18 year old unit, we decided to get it replaced. We were able to get them to match a great offer we got from a competitor. It only took two days from when we agreed to the contract for them to order the equipment and come out to install it. The installation took a few hours, and the technicians worked very hard. They took the time to explain how to operate it to us, and everything seems to be working well. It was a very positive experience overall.

Everything went exceptionally well. They responded immediately to my initial call and were able to order the replacement unit the same day. Even though the unit had to be adapted to fit the existing space, all work was done in a day and a half. Everyone was very professional in their approach. I would highly recommend them for any heating/air conditioning work.

Danny came out very promptly to give me an estimate. His office even called to let me know that he was on his way but stuck in traffic , and would be a little late. I initially wasn't sure whether to replace a 10 year old system or to invest in a new one. Once he looked at my system, he gave me several reasons why the repair would not be a good investment. I was very impressed with his knowledge and that customer service was paramount-he was not just a salesman trying to sell me the most expensive system but rather recommended what was needed for my house. I was uncertain whether to purchase a whole house humidifier and Danny advised against it after discussing some of my issues with condensation. He also was very responsive and available to answer any of our questions. The day of installation, he and his crew arrived late in the afternoon, to begin the project. They expected that it would not be done until the next day but they were so efficient, that they finished the same night. .They were immaculate and went to extremes not to dirty the house. I was initially a little concerned about using the company because I knew very little about them and had seen very little of their advertising. However, as I did my research, I discovered that several of my contacts had also used them with very positive experiences. There is a reason that they received Checkbook's excellent rating for BOTH quality and price. It was a pleasure dealing with Danny, who was not only the estimator, and installer, but also remained my primary contact throughout the project. I would highly recommend the company..

These guys are great. They have had the same capable servicemen for years. My first contact with Germantown Heating and AC was in the summer of 2004. My new house was five years and one month old, and the builder's 5-year warranty on the evaporator coil (on the heat pump responsible for cooling the upstairs level of my new house) had just expired. Germantown Heating and AC replaced the evaporator coil for a reasonable price ($740, August 2004). They recommended an annual service contract, and I am glad I took them up on it. Every spring and every fall, Mike, Paul or Ryan comes to evaluate both of my ventilation systems. They installed a whole-house humidifier, and they take care of everything. It is comforting to have them looking after us. In March 2012, the upstairs unit finally showed signs of imminent failure. One of the company's owners, Danny Marley, came over to explain the options for a replacement unit. We chose a Bryant two-stage heat pump with a variable speed fan coil. It was expensive, but it came with a two-year labor warranty (and a ten-year parts and compressor warranty), and it has been wonderful. We know that Danny had advised us well. Recently, when the upstairs unit started making an unusual sound, Mike came over and immediately figured out the problem with the fan. Because we have an annual contract, there was no charge. Arrival was prompt. Behavior was courteous and friendly. At no time did he pressure us to buy anything additional. He only provided the service for which he came.
