I cannot say enough good things about this company and I am a hard customer to satisfy. Their quote and installation was knowledgeable. They provided me with all the paperwork to get the government credits (don't expect them to come quickly, I am still waiting for one to arrive). But more than anything their knowledge, followup and customer service is superb. They have not tried to sell me anything I don't need. I am convinced they are a very honest company. (I switched to them after another company tried to tell me I needed new A/C units when they were actually fine. Gaithersburg kept them maintained without a problem for several more years until I decided I wanted geothermal. I definitely needed the back up system because of the size of my home (7200 sf). They set it up so that the heat in 4 of my bedrooms can be independently controlled. They were concerned to give top of the line product not losing sight of keeping costs down. the equipment also has a great warranty period. Their staff is technically well educated, all native english speaking that I have encountered, and very interested in keeping me a satisfied customer. I love my geothermal and it has saved me a lot of money. This is the best service company I have encountered in my 17 years in this house. I am moving and will miss them dearly but will tell the new owners they are making a big mistake if they don't continue with them. I have entered the cost of the annual service contract for the multiple unit system. Geothermal cost is a bit complicated and others would probably not need what I opted for.

We got five different work proposals for our HVAC replacement. The person who came to our house was very technically knowledgable. He gave us his cell phone number and gave us plenty of his time answering our questions. I think this contractor would have done an excellent job at a good price.

The technician was so kind and had many good troubleshooting ideas. He spent at least 30 minutes on the phone with me, for free, and helped me solve my problem without having to pay for an after hours visit. I couldn't get any other company to respond, especially since I don't have a service contract with anyone. So the help was even more appreciated. I will absolutely hire this company in the future!

Technicians arrived promptly in morning as scheduled. The old firnace, now 14 years old, in the attic (we have two furnaces) was taken out and replaced with the new one. A furnace filter was installed with the new furnace. Simultaneously, the old AC unit (14 years old) was removed and a new one installed. The unit was much larger and the evergreens that screened the unit had to be cut back by the technicians. The old humidifier on the other furnace was removed (14 years old), and a new one installed. A new thermostat was installed that is wifi enabled. I was given a brief instruction on how to program it. All the associated paperwork was given to me in a folder. All debris was cleaned up, The old furnace and AC were taken away. Work was completed in four hours The furnace has functioned perfectly from the beginning, and I had no need for any return calls. Later I requested (and purchased at a very reasonable rate) a cover for the AC which they brought around to me in a few days. We received the rebate from the electric company on 20 December 2014.

I think they do great work. They're very expensive. They really don't try to repair, they try to upsell new systems for homeowners who have older units so I ended up going to a different provider and they fixed my problem.

They were awesome. They were good. They are five out of five. They explained the work to us. They explained every single stuff regarding what will be done, what will be the cost and everything that they will do. They came out and dealt with every issue. They were amazing. WE actually set up a contract with them for twice a year check up of the air conditioner.

On 9/15, the day before installation of the Bryant unit and heat pump, 2 men came to check the size of the unit needed and made a list of items that would have to be brought. The use of 4 trained technicians on 9/16 allowed the heat pump and air handler to be installed in 3 1/2 hours. I signed a form for a Bryant rebate and the company mailed it. My electric company is Potomac Edison. The tech brought a form for PEPCO, but the next day the correct form was emailed to me so that I could sign and mail it to Potomac Edison.

They have been thoughtful and thorough in every interaction. Mike Mott has been a tremendous resource for understanding our options. He actually follows up even if when I have new questions weeks or months later.

I have used Gaithersburg for about 15 years. I have a service contract with them. I like their service very much. They try very hard to get the same service guy come back, so they get familiarity with the system, which I like very much. You know who it is when they show up. They are very thorough, they don't try to sell you things, they tell you that your system is showing signs of age, and so you may want to plan in advance to buy another in a couple of years. I like that as well. They are always responsive, and they always show up when they say they will. They are a very good company.

Have found them to generally do a very good job. Over the several years we have been using them, they have occasionally missed something, but have been very good about getting someone out quickly to take care of it.

GAC is Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful!! and I am a hard reviewer/grader We called several companies about estimates to replace our dual zone HeatAC units (1 for the second floor one for the first floor) They came out to provide estimates and GAC was far and away the best in terms of professionalism and price. They measured everything and knew what they had to do - including correcting mistakes made by our builder 22 years ago. The day of install 5 trucks arrived with 9 workers who were all superb, professional, and clearly had the knowledge and expertise to do the job. They protected our hardwood floors and our carpeting as they pulled out the old systems and installed the new systems. Six hours latter they cleaned up and were finished. Did I tell you they were wonderful. I wish all service providers were as good as these people. Would I use them again - YES!!! Would I recommend them to my friends - YES!!! Did I tell you they were Wonderful and Great ?

I have had GACH over several times. Each time they were extremely responsive and professional and I hesitated to write this review but I have to. Here is why: Six months ago or so, GACH came over, and in the interest of convenience, we agreed, that for that one situation, since this was my rental property in Montgomery Village, they could do anything up to $300 w/o checking w/me. We have had some issues (see my other reviews) but overall I thought they were extremely competent and when I had a dispute they resolved it fairly. this time they went too far and, because I know that I cannot fully trust them anymore and really don't want to call them, I am writing this review. They came over to check out the A/C which was not working. I asked them to call my tenant and arrange the visit. As usual, their service was excellent. They fixed it promptly w/o telling me what the issue was or giving me an estimate. This alarmed me a bit because I said to myself "Wait a minute. I know, six months ago, for that one issue, we agreed on the $300 ceiling, but that was for that one job. I wonder what they are going to charge me. I will bet it is every bit of $300" My tenant said that he asked them about the cost and they said, "Oh, we can do work up to $300 and send Mr. Martin the bill." I got the bill and it was $332, I believe, or so. The invoice said $240 for the thermostat and had the brand. There are several different kinds of this brand so I asked my tenant to take a picture. He did and it was an $80 thermostat. I was angry and I sent a polite yet firm letter asking for an explanation on how they established the price for this thermostat. I sent a few sources showing it for $80. Someone called me within a couple of days. They immediately started asking me if I was familiar with their special annual service plan. They went on and on about how good it was and I stopped them and said, "Do you have my receipt? How come you charged me $240 for an $80 thermostat?! They said they did not happen to have the receipt. Now, why does someone call you to discuss a dispute and not even have the receipt? I know why. Because they wanted to divert my attention, talk about a warranty plan, and they had no good reason to triple the cost and could not explain it. Anyway, the guy said "We need to do a better job itemizing our bills" or something like that. I told him if he does not fix this I will never call them again. He asked me how much was fair and I think I was generous and allowed them to charge maybe $240 or so. They sent me a check right away but no note saying "we are sorry, this is what happened, or whatever". Bottom line is - this situation was fishy. They tried to get over on me and figured I would never know. They slapped a random figure on the receipt and went just a bit over what my previous suggested ceiling was. And then when they called they had no explanation, did not have the receipt, and tried to talk around the issue. I can't trust them. As much as I respect several of their members of the staff and think their service is excellent this left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't call them again.

The salesman was very professional and knowledgeable. I obtained 2 other estimates and he was the only one who said the existing unit in my house was too big. He said i could use a smaller size unit and would save money on utility bills. Hopefully he was correct and the A/C will be sufficient this summer. The installation went very smoothly. The install team was very polite and professional. They cleaned up when they were done. The install only took a few hours. So far i am very pleased with the unit. Would definitely use GAC again. The experience was painless.

Great company. We have used them for over 20 years and they have always performed well. Recently, we installed carpet in our basement and this made the A/C condensation pipe too short. We did not notice the situation at first but found out later that the water had soaked that area of carpet. We went into a panic and called GAC. They sent a tech out right away and solved the draining problem. Always prompt and professional, one of best contractors that we have ever used.

They were very good. I am still using their service. They have great professionalism and they took the time to evaluate the problem I had. They did the work quickly and on time for the appointment. I am very impressed with them and I have recommended them to others.

This was an excellent experience, especially because we had to do this in the middle of winter. Their price was similar to another very good company we interviewed. Two other HVAC folks came, promised quotes, and never followed through. GAC was very professional and helpful throughout the whole process. It's nice to deal with a company whose office staff responds with genuine concern for our situation (we ran out of oil a bit early and they gave us a tip on just using diesel to tie us over to the date of the installation AND they came out to restart the oil furnace properly). They were the only ones who said that we needed to reposition the AC coil and that the previous set up was obstructing air flow; indeed, after they did this, we can tell a big difference. We also ran into some unexpected issues, like where to put the furnace condensate line (bc it is a high efficiency furnace) bc we do not have a basement drain, and they had to make an extra trip to come up with a good solution so the line would not freeze outside. Another issue was our thermostat line that required them make an extra trip to install an extra gizmo on the furnace so it could talk to my thermostat upstairs, etc. So... (1) the installation was done very neatly and efficiently; (2) despite 3 extra trips to the house to address unexpected problems, we were not charged for those; it was just part of the overall package, which GAC honored as their commitment--the issue of extra cost did not even come up. I appreciated that old fashioned professionalism and commitment to doing things to the customer's satisfaction. We will use them all our HVAC needs, maintenance, etc and are happy to have found such a great company.

I thought they were great. They were very timely and honest. We did have a problem where I think somebody stepped off a board in our attic and it caused a crack in the ceiling of our bedroom. They immediately responded when we told them about it. They either offered to fix it or give us money to replace it. We had no problems with them at all and they were super-professional.

An excellent experience start to finish. All deadlines were met. They came with a crew of six and finished the job in half a day. Very professional organization .I will recommend this company to family and friends

My experience went very well. The staff was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly while visiting. The pricing was reasonable and I was pleased with the outcome of their services. I would recommend this company to others.

I requested quotes from three companies in the beginning. One fell off right away due to price. The other two are: GAC and another company. Both offered comparable prices and equipment. GAC is Bryant's delaer and the other companny was Carrier's dealer. They are essentially the same. Two main reasons I chose GAC were: They have better warranty (length of warranty) and how my estimator (Tanner) worked during estimation. He seemed to measure everything. Not just casually like other contractors. He then entered all the data to his tablet to calculate air flow, etc. It just seemed more complete. He was able to determine that my original furnace was too large for my house. I liked his detail oriented approached. He also answered many of my questions really fast. Just great response overall. The installation went smoothly with one little hiccup. I assumed I would be getting different thermostats than what was installed. I contacted Tanner right away. He was kind enough to do it for me even though part of it is my mistake. I really appreciate this. Today I just had inspections. The inspector found a real minor issue which I contacted GAC right away. GAC is coming next week to fix this. The inspector actually made a comment that GAC is one of the best in the area. I don't know what more you can ask for. I think I made the right choice - great price and great service.

Great! Showed up on time and completed install very quickly. Entire process was excellent and they even helped find all the available rebates and helped with financing.

They could have easily still changed the expensive part and we would not have known that it was not necessary - so we feel they were very honest and fixed our problem. We have a maintenance contract with them.

We subscribed to GAC's annual service after they worked on our system the previous year. Two years ago, when we moved into our townhouse, we discovered we'd purchased a home with a rather uneven heat/air conditioning distribution. We invited GAC and two other providers to give us estimates of their solutions. GAC not only had the best solution, they were the most professional of the three. Following that work (to which we remain greatly pleased with), we subscribed to their annual servicing. They provide us with email and phone call reminders to schedule the servicing, have always been on time, professional, polite and technically proficient. Annual cost for the servicing (which includes a discount on other work or emergency calls) is approx $230/yr. We've been very pleased with GAC.

The tech arrive 10 minutes early and answered our questions. We have an annual heating & air conditioning contract with them.
