The installation team did a fantastic job. This included Jason, Shaun, Paul and Dan. They even moved one of my thermostats (main floor) to a better location where it didn't get the direct sunlight in the mornings. I would definitely recommend Gaithersburg Air Conditioning and Heating to anybody.

Matt and team answered all my questions. Matt was responsive with the estimate/appt and also returning follow up calls. He is concerned with giving good customer service. His install team is just as concerned, professional and friendly. I ask a lot of questions and they were very patient and professional. It was a pleasure to work with them. They made an expensive investment a little less painful. Their prices were competitive and reputation very good (as others), but they edged out the competition by giving a 10 year warranty on all labor. Most others only give you 5 year warranty on labor and you have to pay extra for the other five years (significantly). I was very pleased with my decision. They also braise with nitrogen.

Our heat was not working on Sunday morning. Gaithersburg Air Conditioning & Heating made a service call at a cost of $159 and told us that the control board on the furnace was no longer working. The technician had no replacement part with him and told us to call the office on Monday to order the service. We called the next day and were told that the cost to replace the board was $700, despite the fact that the part only cost around $100 and it was estimated to take 1.5 hours to install. No money from the service call would apply to the cost of replacing the board. When we asked why it was priced so high, we were told that's just the way it is. We found two of their competitors offering to install the board for just over $400 We had another company come out to replace the control board. It turns out that the problem was the condensate pump, not the control board. Gaithersburg Air Conditioning & Heating had misdiagnosed the problem and we had to pay a restocking fee for the control board. Upon calling Gaithersburg Air Conditioning & Heating to let them know our displeasure, they apologized, said that is not the way they do business and would refund our $159.

I chose them to do an annual check up on my heating and ac unit but then I found out that I should replace the unit. I compared them to three other companies and they had longer warranties and the personal service that I received were reasons why I chose them. The two most trained people were here from the start to the end to make sure all adjustments were correct. They brought equipment to make sure that all my carpets remained cleaned. They did a good job of cleaning up after themselves.

We received an estimate for a new heating and air conditioning system from three contractors. All the estimates were in the same ballpark, but the Gaithersburg representative was both the most professional and at the same time the easiest to talk to and ask questions of. He knew his stuff and inspired confidence both in his company's competence and trustworthiness. We were not disappointed. The installers came on time on the designated day, and worked efficiently and explained everything clearly. We have had the equipment for several months now and there are no problems. We are definitely satisfied customers!

I was nervous about spending the money I spent. I was very concerned about spending $12000. So I researched them and they were highly rated. I was afraid that their price might be high but they ended up being competitive. They were extremely good and very competent. Their professionalism was high. They did everything they said they would do and they said they would call in advance and they were there when they said they would be there. We went with the schedule and they had not even started the work and the old air conditioner was out but it had a hole in it coming through the window. In fact they came and put Freon in and it was not keeping. So they took the old air handler, heat pump from outside of the house, and they brought in a temporary heat pump to pull me over for that week of heat wave and they did not even charge me for that. We were not even on their schedule and they were yet to start work at my place. They did everything they said they would do and much more. They exceeded my expectations.

Gaithersburg air was the third company i called to diagnose and fix a problem with my a/c since April. Thanks to them the real problem was diagnosed. After the tech and estimator discussed all the options I decided to replace the heating and cooling systems. The job was complicated as the previous install was incorrect causing condensate leakage among other problems. The Quality assurance team came out twice to engineer the install correctly. On the day of the install a crew of 7 came out and completed the job in 6 hours. They were professional, polite and considerate and kept to the business at hand. They knew what they were doing. I would definately recommend this company.

Came to repair my broken AC within 3 hours of my call and I wasn't even a regular customer. Very nice person on phone who took my call and Chris, the service guy who came was great. Knew what he was doing and did it quickly. I decided to get a maintenance contract with them.

The technician performed the regular maintenance for the AC as well as addressed the cooling problem. His tests indicated that the unit was only cooling about 9 degrees rather than 20. He diagnosed that it needed coolant and put in 2 pounds. We are enjoying AC that is back up to speed. Every technician who has ever come to our home for 27 years from Gaithersburg has been great. I recommend them all the time. They were first recommended to us from a neighbor who used to own a heating and AC company.

Matt was extremely professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I immediately felt that he was honest and the company was reputable. He did research for me and we decided on a heating and air system that was best for my home. We agreed on an installation date and the installers came punctually and worked for only 4 1/2 hours! And walah!! I am soooo happy and comfortable... I got a new thermostat which can be programmed or used more simply, by adjusting the temperature to whatever you want. My old furnace was 44 years old and still working, the central air was around 15 years old and chugging along with a needed service call each summer. So it was not an emergency... I was just anticipating a major furnace freeze-out one winter and I didn't want to get caught with a wrong company that wouldn't back their service. And believe me, Gaithersburg Heating and Air is the right company. When you are spending such a big chunk of change, you want to make the right decision and feel confident. I do hope their work continues to be as wonderful and as meticulous and professional with other customers as I have experienced. Thank you Matt and all the installers!

Excellent. Three-person team came early, hardly knew they were there, finished up before noon--couldn't believe how fast they worked. Everything left clean and neat. Leveled new compressor and moved it as far away from other unit as possible because the two compressors were originally too close together according to Bryant specs. Straightened out the poor install by the builder of the copper line.

We recently bought our home in October of 2010 and have put a lot of work into it. During a large wind storm in April a Tree fell on the outdoor unit of our HVAC. The previous unit was around 25 years old and only needed that small push to put it out of commission forever. We initially called Gaithersburg Air because their magnet was on the AC unit from the previous owner The sales person stayed for around 25 minutes and gave a fair quote of 5800 for a brand new Bryant HVAC. We did get quotes from many other companies but felt that the product and professionalism of this company was a win win. They installed in 2 hours and cleaned up before they left. Very professional, good with animals, well mannered, and polite. In addition a month later there was an electrical problem with our unit caused by some adorable but over zealous children playing hide and seek in the backyard :) Gaithersburg air came out within 12 hours and spent over an hour fixing the pulled wires and putting in a new thermostat for FREE!!! We would defiantly recommend this company and will continue to use them in the future.

Their quality is good. They are very responsive and very considerate. We were actually pleased with the price. They ended up being more affordable than some of their competition. I shopped around and they ended up giving me a good quote. We like them a lot. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

We needed to replace a 25+year old air conditioner. We asked for quotes from several companies. Matt, from Gaithersburg A/C came out within a day or two of our initial phone call, and gave us a clearly laid out proposal for a price that included a manufacturer's discount. He followed up over the next couple of weeks (while we were waiting for proposals from other agencies) and answered the questions that arose as we thought through the options. How do we know what size and capacity we need? Would we need to replace the lines because the new refrigerant is under higher pressure? Would we need to flush the lines? Should we consider a heat pump instead of just an A/C unit? Matt was prompt in returning calls and giving us knowledgeable answers. When we asked him for a quote on a heat pump, he came by with the new proposal the same day. As we compared the features of the proposals, it was evident that Gaithersburg A/C was giving us the best quality machine for the price range we had budgeted. On the day of the installation, Mike & the crew came on time, in the "window" of time that they said they would come. At one point there were seven or eight guys working. It was clear they had laid out a strategy and everyone knew exactly what they were supposed to do. They did it with a good attitude, and did it well. It took at least four guys to remove the huge old outdoor unit. Meanwhile, another guy was cutting through the sheet metal to remove the old coil on the indoor unit, and others were running the new wires. The new indoor unit fit exactly into the space cut out of the old system. They made sure I was happy with the placement of the new outside unit before they finalized it. The work was neat, with wires and hoses arranged in an orderly way. When they were done, everything was picked up, wall plates were replaced, the floor was swept, and it looked great. They tested the unit, showed me how to program the thermostat, and answered all my questions. The new system is functioning just as it should.

Our house needed a new HVAC system, but it was complicated because of a previous room addition. The recommendations from several companies were inconsistent, with wildly varying price estimates. So how do you decide who's telling you straight, and who is just trying to make as much money on you as possible? The sales crew at Gaithersburg Air Conditioning and Heating responded quickly to our many voice mails, patiently answered all our questions, and were not pushy. They were honest about our choice of systems and did not automatically recommend the most expensive. Armed with real information and not just sales hype, we decided that their suggestions made the most sense, and their prices were reasonable. Once the decision was made, G'Burg went right to work with a next day installation. The install team worked efficiently and were courteous, not only to us, but also to each other! The job took most of the day, but they took time at the end to explain all that had been done and how to operate everything. Afterward we expected to have to sweep or pick up debris, but there was none (ok, I found one tiny wire)! Now in the middle of winter, in our warm, cozy house, we are very happy with the new HVAC system. We heartily recommend this professional, knowledgeable, and honest company.

We spoke on the phone and they sent an estimator out. They had a pre-installation team come out to make sure everything was in order. The actual installation team came out and all teams had the exact same, consistent information. They were great at setting expectations and delivered just as promised. Anything we need to fill out for tax credits, permits, was taken care of them by them. This was another step in customer service!

They were very punctual, came on time and overall it went very smooth. Gaithersburg Heating and Air gave me an arrival window of 2 hours but I only had to wait for 15 minutes until they arrived - that alone was an extra plus because the estimated installation time was approx. 4 hours. Once they arrived, they immediately started removing the old system including cleaning up some concrete that was left from the original AC decades ago and installed the new system. They put protectors on my carpet to avoid producing any dirt. They accommodated to my wishes of where to place the outside unit with requests on how to run the pipes so they don't just stick around (produced some extra work), they finished up the complete job in a very professional manner within three hours. (an hour faster than anticipated.) Overall the staff was extremely friendly, professional and accommodating. I use this company since a bit over 2 years now and I had other companies used before but with Gaithersburg Air I am very pleased. They treat you with respect and show that they care for you. All thumbs up.

I called them in for a problem and the fixed it. They show up on time all the time. They call before they come. They are very punctual. They are very nice and helpful. They answer question, and are very knowledgeable.

We always get very prompt service from them. They always tell us that we don?t need something or that something can wait. The only area I thought that they are kind of unfair with is when they offer to buy the filters for us. We pay like double the price that we should. Overall, we had a good experience with them. We would continue to use them.

I paid 159 for a service plan (annual). They will come again in the spring at no additional charge and I will have priority if I ever have a problem
