Eco City Junk

What a great experience. This is the 1st time I've used a junk hauler. Jeff was early, which is a plus in my book, introduced himself and his assistant, James, and got right to work. I'm moving and had many unwanted items. Jeff and James took them away, no problem, and what I really liked is that items that were able to be recycled, were put aside for that purpose. All in all, a very positive experience at a very stressful time.

They had to take apart the chest freezer to get it out and had to work in an old basement. They had a great attitude and got the job done. I would definitely use them again.

I ended up not using the deal because I got a better estimate from another company. This company was very responsive.

Eco City Junk came on time, and everything was done very smoothly. As they went along, they made sure to carry out my priorities first to ensure that they were loaded on the truck to be discarded. Also, the team was very neat and didn't do any damage to my home. I found this to be a stress free experience. Thanks Eco City Junk!!!!

Jeff is very professional and it could not have gone better. This was the second time I used Eco City this year and I was dealing with a lot of stress in clearing out my parent's estate. Jeff and his 2 crew members could not have been more accommodating and careful when moving out some large pieces of furniture, in addition to hauling away other multiple heavy boxes of books, bags of clothing, and old electronic equipment, which Eco City recycles whenever possible. Since it was a condo in a high-rise building, this job entailed some creative maneuvering of some of the larger furniture that even required removing a door to fit through. No complaints about it, no problem and they took their time to do everything properly. Jeff is responsive, punctual and most pleasant to deal with and I will definitely plan on using his Eco City Junk Services again. An added nice touch -- he asked me to pick out a worthwhile charity from a list he had so he could donate a percentage of the cost of the job to that charity.

I was thrilled with how easily, quickly, professionally this whole experience was - from finding Eco City Junk on Angie's list, scheduling next day service on ecoCity's easy to maneuver website, a responsive phone discussion with Jeff about details, a courtesty call half an hour before their on-time arrival, and the hauling out of all my stuff. I can't say enough about how polite, professional, knowledgeable, and fast the team was. I knew I could trust them so just stayed out of the way. Jeff wanted to be sure I was satisfied afterward and had me review their work. Knowing he would donate items and some profit to chairites and recycle what he could made a big difference to me. I felt the cost was well worth it, as I did not even have to label anything for recycle vs. trash vs donate, etc - they do all that. Plus, they are really nice guys and a pleasure to work with. I have some more stuff and will call him again.

Eco City Junk did an outstanding job removing basement junk, outside junk and old wood at the end of August and beginning of September 2014. I used them for 3 and 1/2 truck loads. They even lifted and removed a old, non-working, riding lawnmower. Cost was $499 per full truck load and $275 for 1/2 truck load. I would definitely use them again when and if needed. I like that they are an independent, Montgomery County, MD, operation, and not a franchise of a national chain. I highly recommend Eco City Junk and will use again as needed.

I bought a "Deal of the Day" for $99. The owner contacted me within 24 hours and scheduled pickup for that week. They showed up on time, were very professional, worked efficiently and ended up taking more than the 1/4 load I paid for. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

Jeff always responded quickly to my emails. He was extremely polite and professional. He was also very patient with me as our schedule has been very hectic and we had to reschedule more than once. They arrived on time and removed everything we had picked out. I will call EcoCity Junk again if needed and will definitely recommend their services to my friends and neighbors.

Jeff called to let me know they were finished with the job ahead of mine earlier than expected, and asked if they could come over. Jeff and Keith were very respectful of the walls and wooden railings. They worked well together. The men were friendly, and the work was completed quickly and professionally.

Fourth time I have called to discuss refund. Company arrived over one hour early- I have this on a security tape. The company could not wait-"had too many jobs from Angie's List ads I am trying to contact management re the dishonesty of the Big Deal staff- I have left messages for their supervisor. Demario needs to be terminated.

Showed up on time, fast - I ended up having them remove more than the deal was for but they were great and accommodated me. I will use them again.

The company was on time and removed an old 9 cubic ft. chest freezer and other items that I wanted to discard. Both men were pleasant and took to remove the discarded items. In a matter of 20 minutes they had removed all the items to their truck. I will use them in the future as I have additional items to remove.

These guys are extremely professional. The two gentlemen arrived on time (early, actually). Their truck is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN -- I don't know how they keep it so clean when it is used to haul trash. They loaded the truck with the heavy items from the garage, and carried up a big old TV from the basement, moving other stuff out of the way as necessary. Then they filled up the rest of my allotted cubic footage with scrap wood and other smaller items. They were very accommodating in every way. I definitely intend to use them in the future.

They were right on time and they were careful not to damage the home. They were very clean and they were very hard workers. They were very kind and courteous and I did end up calling them back and they will be coming back to remove the rest of the items in the basement at their standard price.

Updating earlier review to comment that I used Eco City a 2nd time. They were willing to come on very short notice on 10/7/2014 to pick up a large couch. I really appreciated how responsive they were!

Geoff contacted me immediately after I purchased the deal on Angie's List via email and then a phone call, and we set an appointment to do the work for the upcoming Friday. He was very accommodating and was willing to come out the same day if needed, but I decided to wait a few days so the job wouldn't be so rushed. Just before the scheduled time, he called to let me know he was on his way, and I asked him to park in the street (off the grass) until another contractor's truck was removed from the driveway. He followed my instructions to the letter. He and his helper were very conscious and careful removing the items from my home not to scuff the walls or furniture. He also double and triple checked with me to ensure he was removing the correct items. Once he was done, there were no surprises or the hidden charges that I find common with many Angie's List deals (I had an Angies List plumber once want to charge me nearly $400 extra to replace an $8 valve that would have taken less than 10 minutes on a hot water heater install "big deal"! Nothing like this happened with Eco City Junk Removal) From the initial contact to the moment he left once the job was complete, Geoff and his team were always professional, responsive, considerate, careful and thorough. I just wish all contractors for hire were like Eco City. I would highly recommend Eco City Junk Removal to anyone who needs this kind of service. You won't be sorry!
