Henry (Enrique) showed up on time after giving a call to confirm that he was coming within the scheduled window. He quickly found the problem, and replaced the capacitor, which got the unit working. In order to test that the unit was cooling effectively and there were no other problems, he had to clean it completely, which took some time. He checked the temperature differential between the incoming and outgoing air to confirm the system was working properly. He was very polite and explained exactly what he was doing to me. While the total cost was not cheap, it was not expensive either as these things go, and I felt like I got good value. I would certainly repeat.
Description of Work: Replaced capacitor and checked the refrigerant level. He also cleaned out the unit thoroughly.

I called Saturday AM after checking for companies on Angie's List. The heater went out and it was about 20 degrees outside. I thought they wouldn't be able to come till Monday, but the person on call sent someone that day. He was young and new and did initial diagnosis, accurately, that the motor for the fan was broken. It could be replaced, or perhaps the whole heater needed replacement. The technician came on Monday and concurred on the diagnosis. After conversation--and I'd done my homework on replacement costs and options--I choose to have the fan motor changed out. That worked. I had heat again at last. The house temp on the ground floor had gone down to 46 degrees; and the basement to 59 degrees. He worked quickly, didn't mind that I looked over his shoulder, and showed me all the little bits of plastic indicating the fan parts had gotten brittle after 20 years. He gave me his cell number, in addition to the business phone number. He made one mistake in putting it back together. The condensation hose wasn't tightly fixed. The next AM the house was warming up, however there was water on the floor (tile). I put cotton rugs down to soak it up. The technician came right at the end of his work day and put things right very quickly--and apologized. I would have this company work on the heater/AC system again. The initial charge was $49, an Angie's List discount for $79 house call.
Description of Work: Diagnose and replace the heater fan motor.

He was very friendly and said he would have a written estimate to me in a few days. I followed up twice via email. The first time they responded by saying they had sent it to me but if I had not received it they would re-send it.I had not received it and asked them to re-send it. They never did and ignored my follow up email.

Henry was fantastic! He was extremely professional, knowledgable, and explained everything he did and checked out to me. He was not pushy nor did he try to sell me anything I did not need. He was honest and professional throughout the whole visit. It was obvious that he had been doing this for a long time based on his knowledge and expertise - he quickly diagnosed the problem I was having and fixed everything in under an hour. I called Cool Breeze on Tuesday because my AC stopped working and Henry was out at my house the very next day. He keep in contact by phone updateing me to his status and when he would arrive so that I did not have to just sit and wait at home all day waiting. I would definately call Henry again if I have any issues with my HVAC system and recommend his services to anyone looking to have their HVAC system services or repaired.
Description of Work: I called because my A/C was not cooling and freezing up - Henry came out to diagnose the problem, check my system for leaks, and then ultimately recharge the unit with freon.

The technician showed up to my house at 1017pm!!!!! He was scheduled to come after 645 pm. He did not call me to inform me of his status SO I called the company and spoke with owner of the company who said he would check with technician and call me back, but no call from owner either. When he shows up he's professional and courteous. However, I'm in the process of feeding one of my infant children and I let him in because I felt bad he was working so late and made it to my home from Rockville plus our 2nd level AC unit is not working and I was looking for a little help and resolution. Anyway, whatever diagnostic he was supposed to do felt rushed due to how late it was and how dark it was outside when we were trying to charge the unit and look at gauges. He did thaw the AC unit which was frozen up in the attic. He was not able to give me a concise reason as to why the outside ac unit was not circulating the warm air and why the coils were frozen- maybe he did but I was so tired and itchy standing outside in the grass since it was close to midnight when he finally figured its time to discontinue due to lack of progress. I did get charged labor fee and the diagnostic fee but felt it was exorbitant due to the miniscule amount of work done - it could've been a lot more work done had he shown up on time 3 hours earlier, and I would've been happy to pay the labor charges. Suffice to say, I will not be using their services although I believe their intention was good but that's not the way to handle a new client.

We do apologize for any inconvenience you may have experience with our company, we took your call on the busiest day of the year and fit it into the route. we explained to you that it would be late and you were scheduled after 630. The tech worked very hard at a late hour to get your air conditioning running. We hope that you can appreciate that we tried very hard to deliver service to you and after 6 the tech is without full office support. Please consider using us again in the future as I feel we offer the very best service in the state!

Cool Breeze did a decent job of repairing the furnace. However, I would not use them again for several reasons. First, my furnace was still under warranty, but despite initial assurances from Cool Breeze that they would help facilitate getting the furnace company who originally installed the furnace to honor the warranty, it took me nearly a month of wrangling with Cool Breeze to obtain the necessary information to get the warranty honored. Second, Cool Breeze used a third party parts supplier, and this became a huge and frustrating obstacle to getting the information aboutthe replacement part that was required for the warranty. So based on my bad experience, I would recommend that you DO NOT use Cool Breeze if you are hoping to have them help you facilitate getting reimbursed for a repair for a furnace that is still under warranty. Additionally, Cool Breeze charged me $442 for the inducer motor they replaced, but the furnace company only reimbursed me half that amount--$221--for that part when I finally got them to honor the warranty. The $221 was what the furnace company claimed to be the current retail price of the part. If that was true--and it seemed a plausible retail price after checking comparable inducer motor prices online--then Cool Breeze charged me double the retail price for this part. It actually started out well with Cool Breeze. We came home at 4:30 pm on a Thursday in January from a week of vacation to discover that our furnace wasn't working, and that the temperature inside our house was at 40 degrees and falling. We were worried about our pipes freezing because temperatures outside were continuing to fall. The first furnace repair shop we called refused to come out to check it out because it was too close to 5:00 pm. However, Cool Breeze, the second furnace repair shop we called, did agree to come and look at our furnace that very night; for which we were both relieved and grateful. The repairman arrived and diagnosed the problem as a failed inducer motor. He said they would have to see if they could find the part on Friday, the next day. He took my information, and said I would have to call their office the next day to see about when they would be able to get the part. I told him our furnace was still under warranty, and asked if Cool Breeze would help facilitate making sure the furnace company would honor the warranty. He said they would. He wrote a note into the service order to that effect, and said that the person In the office to whom I would be talking would explain what Cool Breeze could do to help get reimbursed appropriately through the warranty. I called Cool Breeze the next morning. The woman I spoke to said that they would try to find a part by the end of the day, and that she would call me and let me know if they could get the part by the end of the day. I relayed to her my conversation with repairman about Cool Breeze helping with the warranty, and told her the repairman had written it into the order that they would help. She told me she was unaware that I had asked about it, but that she would check into it. The woman called me back at the end of the day, and said they couldn't get the part until Monday, I asked again about whether they would be able to help me get the warranty honored. She said that they hadn't looked into yet, but that they would. Cool Breeze called the following Monday to let me know that they get the part on Monday, and install it that evening. They came on Monday evening and replaced the inducer motor. I asked him again about what they could do about the warranty. He said it was up to the office to do something about it, not him. So I called the office the next day, and asked again about the warranty. The woman who answered again said that she would look into it, and would get back to me. By then I decide to call the furnace company to see if I could get assistance directly from them with regard to getting reimbursed through the warranty, but they said they would need the part number for the replacement inducer motor, and the invoice from Cool Breeze, to process a claim under the warranty. The furnace company also said the replacement part had to be certified as coming from one their suppliers. Otherwise, they would not honor the warranty. I didn't hear back from Cool Breeze for a couple of days. So I finally called them again. However, I was told that the woman whom I had talked to before was now out of the office for at least three days, and the guy to whom I was talking didn't know anything about my situation. So I asked to speak to the owner, and then the owner talked to me. I re-explained the whole situation to the owner, including that the furnace company was now saying that they needed a part number, and that the part needed to have come from a certified supplier, for them to honor the warranty. The owner said that Cool Breeze used an independent third-party supplier to obtain their parts. He doubted that their third-party supplier would be willing to provide the part number. I asked why in the world the supplier would refuse to provide the part number? I asked whether it might be because they may have sold me a rebuilt inducer motor rather than a new one that was from a certified supplier, which would mean that I would be out of luck on the warranty (and that I had paid the price of a new part for a rebuilt one). The owner said he didn't know, but that he would talk to the independent third party contractor and see what he could do. He asked that I give him until at least the middle of following week, which I did. By the end of the following week, the owner had not called me back. So, I finally called him back. He said he hadn't gotten around to calling his third-party supplier because Cool Breeze had had a computer crash in their office. He asked me to give him until the next week, which I did. So I waited until the following week, and called him back again. He agreed to call his supplier, and finally did get back to me with the inducer motor part number. I submitted the invoice and the part number to the furnace company myself, asking them to honor their warranty even if it turned out that the part did not come from one of their certified suppliers. By this time I had threatened legal action against the furnace company if they insisted on denying my warranty claim. They then finally agreed to pay me $221 for the replacement inducer motor, which they said was the current retail price. I was not happy because Cool Breeze had charged me $442, but I figured that that was about as good as I was going to get. So I agreed to take the $221. The furnace company never did confirm whether the part came from one of their suppliers. They just told me they'd send me the $221 check in the mail, and they did. So I don't know for sure whether they honored the warranty because the part did come from one of their suppliers after all, or because I had threatened to take them to court. Although Cool Breeze's owner eventually came through with part number, I would not use them again--both because of the runaround I got over trying to get the part number, which took several weeks because the dubious and complex situation with their third-party parts supplier. I was also frustrated with Cool Breeze's lack of follow through every step of the way after they had indicated that they would handle the warranty for me. I definitely got the feeling that they were just hoping that I would give up and go away. And finally, I am unhappy that it appears as though Cool Breeze charged me double the retail price for the inducer motor.

I'm very sorry that you had a bad experience with our company, we worked very hard to get your system running quickly and restore heat to your home. We told you at the beginning of your work that the third party vendor would probably not be able to deliver this part under warranty. Knowing this you told us to proceed. Even though we made this clear we spent hours trying to secure the warranty for you. I wish you would reconsider this review after the amount of effort we put into your repair and efforts for you to be reimbursed for a unit we did not install.

There were some issues with the service performed by the initial service technician that needed correction. The owner (Ron) got involved immediately, and dispatched his top technician, Saul, who did a prompt and professional job rectifying all issues. Ron (owner) has always trained and retained a skill staff of employees, and replaced those who did not work out well for his company and his clients.
Description of Work: I have used Cool Breeze as my heating and AC contractor for well over a decade. The owner, Ron Tolbert is a knowledgeable, honest, and involved owner, and he is the reason that I have been a steady client for furnace and AC maintenance and replacements. This latest engagement was for the servicing of my furnace and humidifier and the replacement of multiple registers which were rusted and not properly working.

Tamara was very responsive in the communication exchange prior to the trip, Tony the plumber was awesome. Tony was courteous, efficient, knowledgeable, communicative. I would have him back w/o a moment's hesitation. Not eager for more plumbing work, but, no doubt, Tony, and Cool Breeze, is who I will call. I did a lot of research in trying to solve problems myself, but was off on the diagnosis of my main issue, and he had the quick solution to what was wrong, fixed the one main shower, told me my bath tub diverter spout needed replacement and advised that I could prob do it myself based on his evaluation of my handiness. Both showers are now fixed, and I installed the bath spout as he advised. Again, highest marks.
Description of Work: Installed new shower head and shower head arm that I had previously purchased, gave insight on wrong type of pipe used in construction, freed up calcified pipe (using pipe wrench), gave insight on lack of firmness of shower piping from construction, advised that I needed a new tub diverter spout, evaluated other shower that required new Pressure Balancing Tub Shower Cartridge.

The company did a great job: scheduled work at my home very promptly and at my convenience and even tuned that time further to my exact availability on the day of service. A technician performed a very thorough examination of the furnace, fixed what he found to be addressed and provided me with an advice on maintenance and further care for the heating unit. And the company matched a service price for me with a competitor as I requested. I am very glad I have dealt with this company and will use them again once necessary.

The service provider did not tune-up anything. He proceeded to inspect my furnace and tell me that I needed to replace the whole thing and that he didn't think that my furnace would last the winter. I ended-up hiring a second company to actually perform the tune-up and although my unit is in the later part of its life, the second operator said it was in good condition. After the service provider for Cool Breeze told me I needed a new unit and before I hired a second company, I said that I would be open to their suggestion because I do have an older unit. The technician said that he would email me a quotation to do this. I never heard from the company again. The promotion I purchased was a total waste of money. Wouldn't hire them again.
