RENE THE MECHANIC DID A WONDERFUL JOB, THE WORK WAS DONE BETWEEN 8 AND 10 PM IN THE DARK WITH A FLASHLIGHT. HE FOUND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM AND FIXED IT. OTHER COMPANIES HAD TRIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT FAILED AND I WAS WITHOUT AIR DURING SOME OF THE HOT DAYS THAT WE HAD SO FAR. KUDOS TO RENE.

Overpriced service The $59 AC service became a over $300 repair. Technician suggested to change a water pump (he provided the pump at around $165 + installation extra). After the service, later I checked the pump price at home depot and it was exactly the same for $41

CoolBreeze did everything they could to source the part needed to repair our heating unit. It was on backorder seemingly everywhere, but they were able to hunt down the part get the the heat running in short order. Their customer service was incredible, calling every day with an update.

Alex and Curtis arrived on time and performed excellently. They re-installed one and installed a new one.

I would only hire Matt Mischel at Cool Breeze. The A-rating is for Matt. Matt did not push me to buy an expensive boiler replacement even though I had the impression the company might have preferred to sell me a new unit. Matt is very talented and figured out how to save my old unit and save me money. Of course I would use him again and recommend him to everyone.

We came home from vacation to find our boiler's pilot light was out and would not relight. Found Cool Breeze on Angie's List, and gave them a call--they sent out Matt the next morning. He was able to quickly replace the thermocouple and within a half hour, we had heat again. I'd definitely use them again (I might even have them out to do a more substantial servicing of the boiler system in the fall), but I'd also probably inquire in more detail about how costs are calculated beyond the initial service call before I had someone come out. The price seemed quite reasonable to me, but I realized afterward that it could have been much more (it sounded as if standard pricing on this fix might be higher than I paid).

Our heat went out on one of the coldest days of the year, and we didn't know why. We called a number of providers, and Cool Breeze was able to come out within a few hours of our call. The initial service call quickly diagnosed the problem—that the small plastic drain line running from the ejector pump had frozen solid, and the backup of condensate had triggered the system to shut down. He cut the line, drained it into a bucket, and the system started running again. He advised us to schedule a follow-up with their plumber to re-run the line. We encountered a couple scheduling snafus in getting to the follow-up—the office initially set the appointment for the wrong date, and on the make-up appointment, the plumber missed his 2-hour arrival window by over an hour. That being said, the office was apologetic and communicative throughout, and the drain line was re-run using a larger pipe through the crawlspace without further incident. Overall, I found Cool Breeze responsive, with a high quality of service for a reasonable cost.

The plumber advised us to get a new gas fitting. He did not charge for stopping by. We decided to wait on the project.

Rene was extremely professional and patient with my issue. The issue was faulty wires and the wrong contactor was installed by the prior company. He ended up spending a lot of time to trace my wires to find the faulty wire that keep tripping the fuse. It was simple repair that uses up a lot of time and Rene was more then professional about it and was extremely detailed.

The technician worked diligently, addressing the boiler itself and the individual radiators. Very professional throughout, and overall thorough. The only reason for a "B" rather than "A" in quality is that there remains an air bubble in my one radiator. I frankly don't know if he would have been able to solve the issue even with an hour's more work, so I'm qualifying even that "B" mark. Overall quite good and I would use them again.

He went above and beyond for us, when he didn’t have too. Our furnace went out on the coolest day in years. Called cool breeze explain our issue even though they were outside of our service area. They still provided us their service. They saved day... we have a house full of kids with no heat... THANK YOU AMD WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL!!!!

I appreciated that the technician explained what he was doing when I asked so that I understood my equipment better. It was clear he knew what he was doing. He also bled my radiators and installed a Nest thermostat.

Professionalism: There was a wide spectrum of professionalism across the people that we dealt with; some of the office coordinators were courteous, responsive and helpful, while others and the tech had a very lackadaisical attitude toward the work we needed done. Each person appears to be very limited in their knowledge of the other parts of the operations and could not answer many of the questions that we had; as an example, when asking the tech how long it would take to get the part or what it would cost, we were told that we would need to call the office because they don't know anything about how much parts cost or how long they take. Upon calling the office, the person that answered the phone said that they did not know how the flat rates were generated or why I was being charged the amount that I was and that they would have someone call me back; no one did and only upon having issues the day after the repair, was I able to speak to whom I believe is the owner, whom gave a cryptic response to how prices are generated, citing a “system” that gives them the number they need to charge to be profitable. Price: Upon asking for more information about the flat rate and how they came to the figure that they did, the office representative informed me that she did not know how it was computed and that she would have someone call me back; no one actually did. The following day, the heater was broken again; when speaking to the next person, they explained that their flat rate is computed by a system that "calculates what they need to charge to be profitable and that his how 90% of companies do it". My major issue with this is that one of the things that they stated was built in was the "ability to stand behind their service and parts", which to me is insurance, which I am being charged for without consent. Quality: While the work was performed and the furnace is working, prior to the limit switch being replaced, the tech reset something (they didn't explain what) and the furnace began working again. It worked from the 1st of December until the 13th, though we didn't mess with the thermostat because we didn't want to mess anything up; I believe the furnace got too hot and a safety was engaged that wouldn't allow it to run and he re-set it. Late on the 13th, the we returned home to find that the house was very cold and that the heat had stopped working again. After some back and forth (covered in the responsiveness section); a tech came back out to finally replace the apparent “faulty limit switch” that they had just replaced. Responsiveness/Punctuality: The office managers/schedulers failed on a few occasions to keep in contact with us; first, they told us that they would contact us about which part we needed and did not, we had to contact them to find out about the part. Next, they told us that they wanted to coordinate to have the same tech that performed the diagnostic come back to do the repair and did not; we had to call them to ask what happened. Finally, the day that the repair took place, we were scheduled for a service window of 9 - 11 am; they called the day prior to tell me that the distributor sent them the wrong part and it would not make it in time for that appointment and asked if they could change it to 3 - 5 pm, causing me to have to make last minute arrangements at work which were very inconvenient but wanting to have my furnace issue resolved, I agreed. As noted above, the furnace stopped working again the following day; due to have a packed schedule, we weren’t able to be home to allow the tech to come back on the 15th, but scheduled for them to return on Dec 16th between 10 and 12 pm. At 12 pm, after no showing or call from the tech or company, I called them to inquire as to what was going on; they informed me that the tech was behind schedule and would be there “within the hour”. At 1 pm, the tech showed up and replaced the faulty new switch with another new switch. Overall: While the work was eventually successfully completed (fingers crossed), there were many issues; we would not use this service again.

The 20-point furnace check-up went very well. Kenneth was my technician. He explained to me what he was doing and answered all of my questions. I also really appreciated his honesty too. My humidifier wasn't working. I had called another service provider and they came to check the system. They told me that it would cost $1100 to fix because I needed a new UV light. Fast forward to my getting a second opinion from Kenneth, and he said that it was working just fine. In fact, all it took was an adjustment on the control panel and the loosening of the valve and my humidifier started working just fine! Oh and he showed me where the UV light was, told me how it worked, and that was it.

They don't serve water sourced indoor units.

I have used Cool Breeze in the past for HVAC work and they have done an excellent job. In the most recent experience, though, my furnace was not working and the Cool Breeze technician was able to get it working again. However, after 2 days it stopped working and I called another company that diagnosed the issue that was causing the furnace to shut off. The issue ahd been missed by Cool Breeze. The second company repaired the problem and the furnace has been working since then.

That helped put more water into the hot water system and then bleed radiators so that hot water was circulating through the system. Not very complicated but it consumed some time to bleed all the radiators. Employees were on time and worked hard. They also answered all my questions. As a result the system is working and I am better informed.

The technician was extreme knowledgeable and took the time to explain what was going on with the unit.
