I have used Certified before, and I would call on them again. They are the best.

Eric arrived on time as promised, having called about 1/2 hour before to notify us he was on the way. I cleared easy access to the breaker box, and he opened the breaker box to assess the situation. He had to relocate a breaker to allow the surge protection breaker to be installed, and close enough to the monitoring device to be attached together. He asked me whether I preferred the monitoring device to be mounted interally and hidden to save the $20 for the monitoring device mounting plate (which looks like a household light switch plate), or externally, and I requested externally. I asked questions constantly as to the functionality of the breaker, monitoiring device, home electrical system and wiring as he worked, and he patiently answered them. While I was surprised the mounting plate for the monitoring device looked unexpectedly simple and unreasonably expensive, I was told that the cost is the cost of the item as purchased by the complany form the manufacturer, and it is just passed along. After the devices were installed, a hole about 3/4 " remained next to the mounting plate which was not repaired as Eric stated he had no plaster. I called the company, and they confirmed that the situation happened, and they courteously stated Eric would return to perform the repair. I made an appointment, and as for the original appointment, Eric arrived on time as promised, having called about 1/2 hour before to notify us he was on the way. My home is now protected, and hopefully the device will not have to be challenged by an electrical surge. If it is, we'll see how well the surge protector performs its job. After review of the provider response to my review and of the events, Ratings were amended. The price may be great for the product and installation, but unknown so moved rating up to "Good" for firm benefit of doubt. The quality concerns were promptly addressed by the firm, and the punctuality of the service was Excellent.

The only issue I have with the company is the person who answers the phone sort of discourages you from using the service you paid for...He kept saying, we have to make holes in the wall, we don't patch the holes, etc...I was like, "Okay, I have a handyman, no problem, etc..." It was sort of like they had been inundated with calls about this deal and they'd gotten the quota they wanted, and were trying to discourage people from using it. Or, perhaps, other people had given them a hard time about not patching the holes and the guy was preemptively warning me not to expect that, as if he'd been yelled at before by customers. One reason I don't like these deals is that companies obviously do it to generate business and they are eating a lot of the cost of the job to do so, which "eats" at them and they come off angry to the customer. To all the companies out there advertising deals on Angie's List, heh, if you don't want people to take you up on the offers, don't put them on Angie's list! Don't blame the customer because they are getting a good deal you agreed to! While the intake person on the phone was unpleasant, the fellow doing the work was very nice, very sweet and an obvious professional. He should teach his boss how to talk to people. Wouldn't use the company again because there are plenty of companies in the world that do good work, but are also polite and pleasant with the customers.

Our DC townhouse is 100 years old, and the wiring is very dated. They were able to quickly install all of the light features, and I was pleasantly surprised with the price. The guy was polite, professional and fast. Would highly recommend.

Very happy with the work. They were on-time, went right to work, and completed the job in 1/2 hour. Once the surge protector was installed he then explained how it worked and what I needed to do if I did have an electrical surge in the house. Very impressed.

Scheduling the appointments was easy, and the installers were in and out of each home in less than 20 minutes. The installers were extremely professional and courteous. The only issue was despite a confirmation of the installation date on the Virginia home, there was a mix up and the installer didn't show. We probably would have cancelled but for the fact we had already paid for it. On pointing out the issue, the company was not particularly apologetic, but did reschedule the appointment and the second time were extremely punctual. Our renter had no problems, with that installer showing up right on time and on the day scheduled.

The gentleman was polite and efficient and answered all of my questions. After he left, I had a follow-up question about whether the outlet would also support a microwave. He took my call and also took the time to answer my question and give me some options even though he had already been paid. I really appreciated that .

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was okay; nothing great. I don't think I would use them again. He sat there and talked about how to replace one of the lights and when he finally did it, he did it differently. It was fine and it was better. He kept telling me he couldn't do it that way and then he did and it was what I wanted initially. He got confused. It took more time which was my bigger issue. I had the fixture in the box and it was missing pieces so I had to go to the store which added extra time so the price went up $100 for an extra half hour or hour of labor. They were not bad and it would have been good if it had been the $140 for the deal instead of the $240 that I spent. Eventually I told him to put the light fixture up and then I had to switch it out. The time they set it up didn’t work for me so I contacted Angie’s List and they emailed them and Certified was able to move it up a couple of days. They were right on time for the appointment. I don't know if I would or wouldn't use them again.

David called about 15 minutes before he got here, well inside his window. We had purchased a light fixture that we were unable to install ourselves due to a loose junction box. David got straight to work, going up in to the attic to try and tighten it, but ultimately determined the entire junction box needed to be replaced. He worked quickly but took the time to make sure everything was straight and to our satisfaction.

Techician arrived on schedule, was very professional, and clearly explained work and charges and answered all questions.

The man who came checked our electrical, was very professional, and gave recommendations w/out pressure should we want to pursue anything.

CET was great. Gary Epstein worked with my tenants to find a convenient time to come out and fix the lights. The price was very reasonable, they came out when they were expected, and everything is now in working order. Thank you very much.

I got an email response from Steve Elkins asking me to call to discuss my project. I had purposely put in detailed project information in the Angie's List contact request form. Measurements, existing service, etc. This was for the electrical work to install a bathroom exhaust fan through an exterior wall at ground level. When I called he answered and it was clear he had no idea what I was talking about - didn't know my name or anything about the project. But he asked me to tell him what I was trying to accomplish. When I described in the same detail as in my request on Angie's List he started telling me all the things they couldn't do, including drill a hole. He was not giving me solutions or alternatives, more like trying to put me off. So finally I said, "well it sounds like we have nothing really to talk about, I'm sure there are others looking for work" and I hung up. How do these guys have any customers? Even if this wasn't their bread and butter work, he was unhelpful, borderline rude, and I felt like he treated me like some weirdo who was wasting his time. So I stopped wasting his and mine as soon as I could.

Went fine. Electrician showed up, performed all the required improvements. He was within the time window given, spend less than 45 minutes in my home, cleaned up after.

They were professional, knowledgeable and competent. I was happy they finished within the time frame ( I was over charged).

The tech inspected the bedrooms and bath served by the intermittant circuits installed during a recent renovation. After testing the GFI outlets in the bathroom, he identified several items plugged in elsewhere that could have served false triggers to the arcfault breakers. Based on his finding that there was adequate protection in the bathroom and that we were unwilling to more the affected equipment it became evident to me that we needed to revert to regular breakers in the box. He did the work without delay, checked to ensure that all was as expected in the affected rooms and prepared the bill. I got a legible copy of the invoice and a copy of the cc charge slip and he went on his way.

Great experience from the appointment to the installation. The technician (Alan) was very helpful in creating an effective lighting plan for a very dark kitchen. He was patient with me as we worked through the right placement. I will be bringing him back to do some additional work in another room.
