Don't want to waste my time.

The home inspection noted some corrosion at the breaker panel. The electrician from certified electrical tech was able to determine that the home inspector wrote a false claim.

Steve was very nice over the phone and asked many questions to make sure he had a very good understanding of the problem including asking for names of equipment so his person would come with exact equipment needed. He quoted me a price by the hour and explained the possible fixes and what each of those would be in time to let me know how expensive it could get. I got a large window as to when he would arrive but he came within the first half hour. I explained the problem and showed him around and he quickly got to work. He would stopped by once to let me know it wasn't the breaker and it was indeed the wiring and he would be checking that next. About 45 minutes later he showed up and said it was all good and fixed and explained the problem. We were right at one hour and that is all he charged me. I have had other electrical companies throughout the years and I have never had one so efficient. He was very courteous and very nice. They also followed up with a thank you note and a phone call to make sure their staff was professional. I will use them for all my electrical needs in the future.

They were very good. I had a cat spay all over the electrical box whcih blew it. The tech was only able to fix one outlet due to the smell so they did not charge me for it.

Everything went just fine. He put in the ceiling fan without any problems at all. He was quick and courteous and was done it 15-20 minutes.

Based on their positive reviews on Angie's List, I called CET and scheduled some minor electrical work in my father's house. I was given an appointment "window" of three hours and told that if I failed to keep the appointment my credit card would be charged for it. Steve Ellkins of CET then sent me a most emphatic e-mail reiterating the same point: "Our tech will call you approximately 30 minutes prior to arrival. Please make sure we have the correct phone number to reach you and to answer your phone when he calls. If the tech cannot reach you, he will assume that you are not available to keep your appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 business hours notice may result in a cancellation charge." (CET's emphasis, not added by me.) Shortly before the beginning of the appointment "window", CET called to say they couldn't make it, and would need to reschedule. Given the fact that CET threatens to CHARGE THE CONSUMER for BROKEN APPOINTMENTS, their abrupt cancellation struck me as an arrogant and unprofessional double standard of conduct. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? The tone -- and the typos -- in CET's response (below) to my entirely factual review are very telling. So if you're looking for a contractor who is both argumentative and careless, you may be very happy with CET.

Rob from Certified was excellent. He was on-time, professional, very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with all my questions. He explained the cause of the occasional sparks and reassured me with his explanations. At my request, he changed the switches even though it was not necessary. He also identified the problem with the outdoor lamppost and suggested a good alternative that saved me a lot of money.

I vetted half a dozen electricians for my project, which was initially focused on installing recessed lighting throughout a condo. I only had a set amount of time to have the work completed before I moved in. I was not particularly thrilled with my decision to go with this company. The electrician was a nice guy, but the work was average and much slower than I anticipated. This would be fine except that this company charges by the hour so the estimates didn't really track with my expectations. There were some other miscommunications with the company about the scope of the work and the final product. I spent $800 on 20 receptacles only a few of which were the ones I wanted, a few switches, the junction box, and the installation of 1 chandelier. After talking to the owner a couple times to express my concerns, I felt like he didn't understand my perspective and I realized that this company would not able to complete the project to my specifications. I finally found another company which was able to finish everything else I wanted at a much more reasonable price. I ran out of time to have the recessed lights installed, but I am happy with the overall look of my place. I think CET might be ok if you have very basic electrical projects and an open timeline, but my experience was frustrating.

the work was done by a very skilled technician and because I had one small problem, probably caused by miscommunication by me, and Certified Technical went the extra mile to ensure that, at the end of the day, I was thoroughly satisfied. They even offered me a free hour of electrical services for a project of my choice.

Technician arrived just when the range of time for service began. He was friendly and informative and patiently answered all of my questions. I appreciated his input on the dryer problem as well. While I didn't shop around, I could tell from the other reviews that the pricing was within reasonable ranges.

We looked at the Angie's List reviews and saw that the company was highly rated, so we called to inquire about the work we wanted done. The person who schedules that type of work was not available but called back later. He explained how long he thought it would take and how much it would cost based on that. The day of the appointment, the tech called ahead of time to say he was on the way and arrived on time. We explained the work and he was able to find the issue with the electrical outlet, which he fixed. He then ran the phone lines and completed the work in about the estimated time. He cleaned up when he was done and explained the charges. Overall we are happy with the work.

David was very friendly, professional, punctual, courteous and on time. He was also very knowledgeable in his field.

The technician was great! Not only did he complete the jobs quickly and effeciently. We were surprised he was able to install the fixture in a place that 2 others were unable to. Will definitely use them again. Highly recommend.

After having a home inspection, I was informed that my water heater needed to be grounded and to have some DIY lights inspected to ensure they were up to code. The technician called to say he was on his way and approximately when he would be here. He came explained everything he was doing and was done within 15 - 20 minutes. Wrote up an explanation of his duties for me to provide to the realtor to ensure everything was taken care of. Very soon after I received an email regarding my service call to see if I had any questions or comments. I also received a card thanking me for choosing them to perform service and received a coupon. I was very happy with the overall service, would definitely recommend them and will contact them for any future need.

The electrician showed up on time and was ready to begin the inspection immediately. He was very professional, diligent and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond in helping me decide what electrical items really needed to be address on my recently purchased home(built 1968). It was a breathe of fresh air having him there. We had another Angie's list electrician out, and they were very aggressive in saying the home was unsafe and promptly provide a $7,000.00 proposal. CET's technician assured the house was overall safe and habitable, but a few items need to be addressed(new panel, smoke detectors, gfi, etc). It was a great experience. Totally worth the price. Always get 2nd and 3rd opinions, even with highly rated Angie's list contractors.

Took a few emails and a phone call to get the install scheduled but once that was done every thing was easy. Installer was right on time. Was courteous and neat as a pin. We discussed the installation locations. I stopped in a couple times to check the progress. Everything was fine. Only issue was a mistake in location of the switch resulting in a outline of box in the wall that I had to repair. An unexpected horizontal wood member in the wall caused him to move the box. It was easy to fix so I left it go. Otherwise it was trouble free.

The gentleman that came over was very kind and he let me know what I needed to do as regards to my home safety. He told me about items that I could purchase that would last a lifetime to alert of any smoke or fire in my home.

The electrician (Alan) was very knowledgeable, prompt, and courteous. He diagnosed the problem quickly and efficiently and replaced the outside fixture for us. Excellent efficient service and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to our friends.

Inspector was prompt and friendly. I paid over and above the inspection fee to have a damaged plug replaced, which he did quickly and competently. The inspection itself was a fairly cursory look at major features of the electric system, e.g. GFCI outlets, covers on outside outlets, etc. without a lot of value for a homeowner with a basic familiarity with electric systems. It could be valuable for someone with an older home or without much of a knowledge base.

Called to get a quote and scheduled an appointment. Technician arrived promptly and installed a circuit breaker and new outlet for a sump pump and an additional outlet elsewhere. Technician was knowledgeable and professional. There was some confusion about the Angie's List discount, which the technician was not aware of. However, after calling the company, CET, someone in the office was able to apply the discount and rectify the situation.

Very good experience, would use again, and would recommend. Not a big job but they were responsive, on time (despite the forecasted "snowstorm), and quick. The only improvement could have been better cleanup in the garage.

When we purchased the house, the inspector revealed that there were some ungrounded outlets in the house (all of them were three-pronged). It was something I had put off for awhile, until I read about the dangers of having ungrounded outlets. I tried to fix it myself, but couldn't figure out why some of the outlets (seemingly on a different circuit, per the circuit box) weren't grounded and others were. I came to Angie's List and decided to give Certified Electrical a call. I left a message with Steve for the scheduler to call me back since she was on the phone at the time. After not receiving a call back (which was understandable because they were busy), I called later in the day to setup an appointment. She was very knowledgeable about electrical functions herself, and that helped to ease some of the worry I had. I was granted an appoint range of 1pm to 4pm the following Wednesday. Chuck called me around 12:30pm to say he was on the way (I hadn't yet left work, because no one EVER arrives at the TOP of the appointment time range they give). I told him I would be there around 1:15pm and he said that's fine since he had to run to the local Home Depot. Upon his arrival, he was courteous and got right to work. I explained to him that there were certain ones that were ungrounded, but others weren't, and they didn't seem to be on the same circuit. Also, which turned out to be the time and money-saver, that one outlet in particular tested "not grounded" when I initially checked, and then "grounded" when I checked the day before he came. So he decided to check that one since he felt that the problem was likely occurring there. Turns out, he was right since there was a ground wire that was loose and being stripped by a random piece of loose metal in the outlet. After he spliced it, it fixed every outlet on the circuit (which included outlets that I didn't know were on the same circuit). All in all, it took around 1 hour to complete (which made me very happy). He was friendly and courteous, and didn't have a problem with me watching the whole time. I like to learn things, and he was very knowledgeable... explaining things to me about older homes and correct ways to wrap a wire on an outlet. Upon his exit, he handed me a flyer for a whole-house surge protector, which I'll probably get in a few months... I don't mind blatant promotion, especially when quality work is done. (= I was pleased with everything, and I will certainly contact them first for future electrical issues or upgrades.

The technician arrived on time and was pleasant and thorough throughout the visit. All requested jobs were completed.

I had 5 recessed lights installed, I paid $250 with a 10% coupon and bought my own lights. The service was excellent and on time. no damage was done to drywall. I would recommend and use again. Very happy.
