Dale was awesome. We were extremely impressed with his work ethic, knowledge and skill set. All of our projects were done but it took Dale 8 hours with a 15 minute lunch before he was satisfied and called it day. I would recommend Dale and the crew at Certified Electric to any homeowner. I trust them wholeheartedly.

I was extremely pleased with even my first call to this company. I explained the issue I was having with all three light fixtures in my bathroom periodically going out; the person on phone walked me through a series of questions to determine what the issue most likely was (the dimmer to which they were all connected). He then asked what kind of dimmer switch it was; forewarned me that it may not be the cause and, if the problem wouldn't present itself when the electrician came out, they may not be able to solve it (since it only happened intermittently); and stated the price for everything up front. We then scheduled their visit for a few days out. On the day of the service, the electrician arrived promptly; he was exceedingly professional and friendly. He quickly determined that the dimmer switch was, indeed, the culprit and replaced it in no time flat. The light have been working perfectly ever since! The prices were exactly as they had been described on the phone. I would definitely call CET when I need electrical work done in the future.

Did not call to confirm. I had to call and ask when they were coming out.Was given a time then electrician came out on time and inspected. Didn't really seem to do to much. Just said we needed a 2k electrical panel upgrade. I was informed of the fact I needed grounded switches within a certain range of my kitchen. Was given a receipt and he was on his way. Overall seemed average. I was not impressed or disappointed.

The repairman was here about an hour looked over all the electric.

I purchases the big deal for 2 hours of electrical service. This is the second time I had done so; I was so pleased with the first big deal visit in which they put up a light fixture with pendant lights, that I purchased the big deal again when I had the chance. Nice office staff, punctual (or calls when they are running behind). During the most recent visit, they fixed a ceiling fan, replaced a GFI outlet in the kitchen, fixed a light switch issue (two switches in one room and one did not work), and fixed a recessed light. The technician was great. There was about 15 minutes left and he was about to depart and i then remembered the light switch issue and asked him to look at it and see if it was something that would take 15 minutes or less to fix. He was happy to do so and he was able to fix the problem. I always recommend this company when people ask for electrician references.

The installation was very quick as we has the necessary spare breakers. We were assigned a reasonable "window" of time for the work and communications were very thorough. We would definitely use this company again.

Eric called beforehand and was prompt. After a quick overview, he went right to work installing the ceiling fans. The work was completed in 4 hours and Eric explained everything along the way and asked questions to be certain the install was to my liking. I would recommend the CET team and plan to use their services again.

The provider came from the Herndon office and arrived promptly. He completed all repairs very quickly, tested them, tested them, and demonstrated that they worked.

The electrician was prompt and efficient in his work. As with everyone else they work on an hourly basis. He managed to replace all the outlets, install a new box for a light, and hook up a new line for a new outlet in an hour. This was impressive considering the old wiring in our house that required a lot of replacing as he worked.

Rob did a wonderful job. He arrived on time and was very professional. He listened to what we wanted and went beyond our expectations. Ceiling fan was a new install and Rob was able to wire power from attic with no visible holes in drywall which we were very happy about. He recommended and installed a 2 switch box where there was only a one switch box before that had operated a lamp in the bedroom. That way we could still have a switch to our lamp and the other switch to the fan since the fan didn't have a light on it. Fan was also mounted very well though there is a little gap around one side of the base that meets the ceiling but that is the fault of the fan's construction and not of the installer. This series of Hunter fans has a a poorly designed mounting bracket. Rob made it so it's only visible from the back side of bedroom and even then it's not so bad so I was very pleased with that for after reading reviews on this fan, I was expecting this problem before he even started and thought it would look worse than it turned out looking :) All in all, we are very happy and plan on using this company again for all our electrical needs.

CET completed the work as agreed. It was accomplished in about 16 hours spread out in three days over a two week period. Nothing spectacular about the work or the company.

He was on time and extremely knowledgeable. He was very neat and very fast. There was a problem because the new light fixture that I had was damaged. We didn't realize it. He spent a lot of time putting it up and we couldn't get all the pieces to fit. The company had to send me a new lamp and he had to come back. I had to pay for an extra visit for him to put it up. Not only did he do it really quickly, he advised me to call the company and tell them that because of their lack of quality control, I had to hire an electrician twice. He said that he bet they would give me a discount. Not only did they give me a discount, they gave me the lighting fixture for half off. I wouldn't have known to do that had he not said something to me. He and I were both a little frustrated that he had to come back and do the job and pay a second time. It was great. Not only did he do the job but he was advocating for me. I was touched by that and it resulted in a fabulous discount. They sent postcards reminding me that they were coming and they called half an hour before. They showed up on time. He was very neat and courteous. It is a good company and I would definitely recommend them. There was an 800 number because they are based in another state. Those people was really not helpful but once I got the direct number of the office in Gaithersburg, it was a completely different story. After the visit, they sent me a thank you letter with a $20 discount for the next visit, which I got to use right away. It was great customer service and they did a great job. The first time I paid over $230 and the second time it was $170. He was much quicker than other companies that I called. I didn't get any deals from them but I was happy. I would definitely use them again. He was fabulous. Electricians are not cheap but I am completely uninformed regarding their prices.

Not impressed! I called for an estimate for installing a small, 6 circuit breaker transfer switch to my home's main circuit breaker box for emergency backup power from a portable 6k generator. The estimate was $600, which seemed high for such a small job, but the kicker was they wouldn't test the installation for proper functioning with the portable generator. When I explained this project was for EMERGENCY BACKUP POWER, and how I would I know if their install would function correctly during a critical power outage, he basically told me I was on my own. What person would hire a company to do half a job? Why would I get a transfer switch installed that may, or may not be wired correctly to run with my portable generator? The safety and comfort of my family is too important to me to hire these guys.

My experience overall went excellently. The staff was friendly and professional. They stayed a little over the 2 hours of work and did not charge extra. I would highly recommend this company to others.

I was called by Certified within five minutes of sending them an email through their website. Gentleman on the phone was very nice and professional. A technician was available to come a couple of days later, and I was promised a call 30 mins before he showed up. The technician called as promised, and arrived within the first hour of my appointment window. The technician was professional and got all of the work done within one hour...no mess, no troubles. The technician was professional and polite, and I felt comfortable as a woman alone in my house with him. Overall excellent experience in terms of communication, professionalism, and quality of work. Highly recommend, and highly deserving of their high score on Angie's List.

This was the second time we'd had Alan out to do work and he was spectacular. The first time he came out to troubleshoot a problem we were having with outlets in the living room and one of the bedrooms not working. We just bought the house and prior to closing, the seller had her own electrician in to do some minor repairs and clean up some wiring issues. Unfortunately the seller's electrician caused more problems than he solved and that led me to Alan and CET. The price was absolutely fantastic and Alan really knew what he was talking about. He was happy to let me follow him around and ask him questions about what he was doing and why he was doing it. Being a new homeowner I wanted to learn as much as I could from him about how the electrical system works. The only thing that was less than ideal, was scheduling the appointment. I called to make the appointment and left my name and number with the receptionist who said that a manager would call me back to discuss the job and schedule the appointment. This happened both times I made appointments. It's possible that my experience was the exception and that the manager was just on the other line both times, but I found the process unnecessarily cumbersome. That being said, I hired them to do an electrical job and they were beyond repoach in their work. So, if I have to deal with a quirky system to make my appointments I'll tolerate it because their work and prices are just that good.

Our two rooms lost electric sudden. I called few companies but they never call me back even few days later. However Certified Electrical co call me back right away and technician came to house in 2 days. He spent great time to find problem. He had to reschedule when he find out that we need new electrical line for these rooms. He came back on time on very hot day and went attick for re-wireing. He was very nice and even took old broken fan down for us. I need some more electrical work in my house and I will call them again.

He showed up on time, was very professional and courteous, and went about the work without delay. Answered any and all questions we had during the process. Very easy to talk to and understand.

They came over and told me that I cannot use the coupon because it was supposed to be additional. If I buy an original price something, and then the coupon will be an additional thing. However, on the coupon, it never mentioned anything about this. Their service was good and I don't have any complaint about the service. However, I didn't need anything done really major and I wouldn't have paid $130 for that if I knew that the coupon was for only the additional service.

CT: I'm an avid AL user, having renovated two single family homes and a condominium over the last two years. I am looking for an electrician to completely rewire a 3-story 1939 home and 1/4 acre of outdoor lighting and lamps - a substantial residential project for which we have already received one estimate: $13,800. I was very interested in your company, given the large number of feedbacks you have received and the overall A rating. But reading the grossly unprofessional and rude comments you leave each and every time a customer is displeased with your work or responsiveness has absolutely ruled CT out as an option. Your work may or may not be fantastic but I would never knowingly hire someone with such an unprincipled self-righteous attitude. Next time, try: "We're sorry you were displeased with out efforts on your behalf or our responsiveness, but we hope you reconsider us to work for you on a future project where our quality is sure to please!" It could have won you a roughly $13,800 contract.

Outstanding company. I was so pleased to receive a visit from Certified Electrical. Alan the friendly and professional electrician came on time and got right to work. He check over 20 outlets, fixed the wiring in several, added an outlet for my new microwave, figured out how the bedroom outlets were wired to the wrong switch, checked and fixed some misplaced wires in my electrical box, pulled and checked 8 ceiling lights, and fixed an exposed wire in a recess light without having to cut a home in the ceiling (limited access). All this work was done for the very reasonable price of $248 and on-time. He did not try to sell me anything extra and acted in a very professional manner. I am glad to have called CET and will gladly do so again. Thank you very much. If you call them I am sure that you will be as pleased as I am.

The appointment was scheduled for two weeks after the call to CET. Rob called a half hour or so prior to arriving on schedule. He made several suggestions about the best way to install the new light fixtures, including how to best position the new recessed light over the bathtub. He managed to avoid working from the attic, thereby keeping our new blown-in attic insulation from being disturbed. Rob completed the work somewhat faster and cheaper than originally estimated over the phone. Rob was at all times friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional in his dealings with us. Our next door neighbors were so impressed with our satisfaction with Rob that they asked him on the spot to give them an estimate for some work they need done.

The technician was professional, punctual, and friendly. He called a half hour before arriving to notify me he was on his way and did a quality inspection of my home.
