Certified Electrical Technologies

This is the 2nd time I have used CET and I will use them again. The work was performed as expected at a fair price well within the estimated cost. The work area was kept tidy and the electrician was respectful towards me and my home. Sometimes you learn more about contractors when something goes wrong than when everything sails along. The electrician made a small mistake has necessitated a repair. They owned it, didn't try to hide it. They will fix it obviously at no cost to me. More importantly there was no hassle. I know I make mistakes and my rule is, own it and make it right. Gary and company do that. There are plenty of licensed electricians in the area. Finding one that is honest is rare, does the work at a fair price and understands customer service is rare. If you value that these things then CET is the right company to hire.

They did an excellent job. Gary is without a doubt an extraordinary electrician. He is a master of his trade and has really a good and capable group of electricians working with him. They diagnosed the rather complicated problem with the circuits in the house easily and accurately. Their price was the mot reasonable. In fact their cost proposal was way less than the other quotes I had received. Honestly speaking if you are looking for an electrician for a simple or a complex problem get certified Electrical Technologies. They are the BEST.

I called and asked several questions regarding an estimate to repair some circuitry and install ceiling fans in several rooms in my home. 1: The guy who answered was incredibly condescending, 2: he told me that I was stupid and that it was a stupid call, 3: he trashed several other competitors in the area during the call.

The electrician didn't arrive within the 4-hour time period because he had a complicated job before us. But once he arrived, he was professional, very knowledgeable and quite proficient. He got our exhaust fan working again and fixed one of the outlets; the second one, he explained, had a nail through the wire and would require breaking through the drywall to fix. We opted not to do that. He moved rapidly from one problem to the next and explained everything, including how to change the fluorescent lights in the basement. We will definitely call Certified again with electrical problems.

I received excellent service from CET from the initial appointment to the installation of the lights. Alan, the technician, was very knowledgeable and provided helpful suggestion with my project. He completed the job in approximately 4 hours and left the kitchen as clean as he found it. I'm very pleased with the result.

The entire job from initial analysis of the problem to the final installation of a properly functioning switch went beautifully. The technician who did the repair clearly knew his business and was dependably prompt and very polite and pleasant. Considering the extent of the problem and the time and effort that went into the repair I feel the cost was certainly reasonable. Based on this experience I would readily contract with this company in the future.

I got a quote from Certified for this work, and Gary was professional and very responsive. He asked follow-up questions to understand the job, and he gave me a fair quote. I ended up choosing another electrician who was similarly professional and responsive (with an identical proposal cost), but my interactions with Gary were very positive, and I'm confident that he'd have done a great job.

Our house was built in 1952. Half the basement was finished in the 1980s with some strange foam ceiling tiles that were nailed in place. Track lighting was installed and wired into non-grounded cable at the end of an overloaded circuit. We wanted to replace this with flush-mounted ceiling fixtures. CET quoted 1 to 2 days on the project. When Alan came, he looked over the situation, and we discussed several alternatives. I had been hoping for three-way dimmers but had been told by other contractors that it may be too difficult with the way the walls were, but Alan thought he could do it and showed me where he'd have to cut the wall. I made a special request to save all the pieces so I could do the drywall repair since the wall is textured and uses an older material. Alan made some suggestions about how the work should be done and proceeded to complete the job in about six hours. He made very few cuts in the wall and saved all the pieces just like I asked. The work was done meticuluosly, and removal of the old track lighting from the foam tiles was done with very minimal visible damage. He put the new lights on a different circuit at my request, and all the new cabling was neat and orderly, and the old cabling was capped off properly. The basement looks so much better now. It's a pleasure to use that space. Alan's attention to detail goes to the point of even having the little slots in the switch plate screws all vertical, and in spite of his having to bore through joists, there was not a spec of sawdust to be found. Alan is a true craftsman. When we have a project like this to do, we don't even bother looking anywhere else. CET has done great work for us on at least three separate occasions.

I received a phone estimate from them upon speaking to them, but it was fuzzy to me. I called back and requested them to come visit so I could get a written estimate. I agreed and payed $165.00 for the estimate and setup a visit for the next week. The visit went fine but I have not recieved a written estimate going on 15 business days later. I do not understand how this team could provide a phone guestimation in 10 seconds, but when you request a slightly more accurate quote they take 15+ business days. In my opinion, they should consider if a customer pays for a quote providing it in 15 seconds and the free ones take 14+ business days. It is a better business model.

Very fast and neat installation. The electrician took steps to keep the work area clean and the new outlet for the bathroom was aligned perfectly with the previously-installed light switch. He also took the time to discuss additional work to do another time, including what would and wouldn’t work.

I called Certified Electrical Technologies first because they have a very good reputation on Angie's List. Lien was the representative that took my call. She was very open and honest about the rates I could expect. Since I had wanted same day service, CET would need to charge me emergency rates which I expected. However, she quickly understood my situation and recommended I try some other electricians in my area. If it were not for my need to get help same day, I would have gone with CET. I would recommend them based on their professionalism and honesty in addition to their great reputation. I would use them in the future.

This is the second time I have used this contractor. They do fantastic work for a reasonable price. I have referred them to friends and family. I would definitely use them again.

This was my second experience with CET - the last visit, no work was performed, but I was so impressed with the professionalism of the electrician that I was sure to hire them for this current job. All work was performed quickly and efficiently and for a reasonable price. I will definitely be hiring them again for any future electrical work in my home.

It was a horrible experience. It took me 2 weeks to get them to my house due to their schedule. When the day finally arrived, the technician arrived late, which made me an hour late to work. He blamed traffic. He was very nice, but only completed about 2/3 of the job in 1 day. They had told me it should just be a 1-day job... they were wrong... by 50%! I rescheduled them to complete the rest of the job, but of course it was another 1 week + of wait time. But I just canceled the follow-up appointment because over the weekend, 2 of my circuit breakers tripped for the first time ever. We had to get another electrician to come out (because CET cannot come for 1-2 weeks), and he had to re-do every outlet that CET had replaced because the wires were not properly insulated. Over $1,000 of work had to be completely redone.

Chuck, the installer, arrived on time and did an outstanding job. After he finished, he checked to make sure it worked. I have used CET several times before and they rewarded me with a $20 coupon for the next job, but I forgot to use it this time. It was my error, but they still do quality work at a fair price.

I was having intermittent power outages in my entire second floor for about a month and all it took was about 5-10 minutes for the CET tech to find the source of the problem. Every aspect of the service I received was fantastic. My main issue with getting someone to come out was the intermittent nature of the power outages. If everything is working, they can’t diagnose the problem so timing was key. Well, Leia who provides office support, was absolutely amazing. Talk about excellent customer service! She understood my dilemma and worked her magic to get someone out the next day. She was so pleasant to talk to and has a problem solving attitude. The person who came out was also very pleasant and professional and knew what the problem was just based on the description. Turned out to be a simple replacement of an outlet that did the trick. He was in and out within 30 minutes. Note, I’ve used CET before in the past and every time, I receive excellent service. Definitely my go to company for electrical needs.

CET office staff was always prompt and thorough regarding our email and phone communications. The electrician who came out to do the work was punctual and highly professional. I also think CET's prices are quite reasonable. I'd definitely hire them again.

I called and spoke to Leia to make an appointment because the main panel breaker for the pool pump/pool house subpanel had been tripped and would not reset. Leia took the time to walk me through some steps I could take to try to reset the breaker myself. I followed her recommendations at intervals and eventually I was able to reset the breaker. We really appreciate Leia’s help, especially as one of their electrician would not have been available to come for the next few days. Certified Electric has come to our home to complete work on a number of occasions and their electricians are always prompt, professional and leave the work areas clean.
