Description of Work: CET arrived on time to install two surge protectors on our electrical panels. We had these installed since we had previously been struck by lightning. They sent a professional out, who completed the job quickly and efficiently, while maintaining professional and courteous service.

Description of Work: Excellent service - installed 2 new bathroom outlets with surge protection and replaced an outdoor lighting timer.

Description of Work: I wanted to have recessed lights installed in my familyroom, since the only lighting was from table lamps. I selected, but decided not to use Certified Electrical Technologies, only because they install the lights, but were not part of the project to repair the ceiling after the lights were installed. As electrical workers, only, I needed a carpenter to repair the ceiling. I hired a general contractor whose services included electrical and carpentry. Superb job!

Description of Work: CET installed recessed lighting in our family room and installed a ceiling fan in our bedroom. The technician was polite, professional, and on time. The price was reasonable. We'll definitely be using them in the future.

Description of Work: They installed a light fixture in the basement and did a very good job with that. My problem with them, is I assumed that they could install a light fixture in my kitchen ceiling.They came late on a Friday afternoon and said that they couldn't do it because of the ceiling configuration. They made no effort to try to figure out a way to make this work, such as installing some wood that the fixture could be attached too. I think that they were tired, and didn't want to bother trying to come up with a solution. They did Ok with routing work, but were not able or willing, to think through a problem.

Description of Work: Very professional. We had 4 recessed lights installed in the living room. The company sent a reminder postcard confirming the appointment, arrived on time, covered the room with tarps to cover up any drywall dust from cutting holes in the ceiling and walls to snake the electrical lines and brought all the necessary supplies. Quick job, looks great!

Description of Work: I shopped around for a few companies that put in recessed lights and looked at how reviews were ranked. So, I called Certified Electric based on the reviews, grading, and comments on recessed lighting. When the electrician arrived at 8 am (on time), he was very informative and funny. After he set up, he informed me on where he was going to place the 4 recessed lights in my master bedroom. He informed me how he was going to install the lights and light dimmer. It took him 4 hours to set up and cleaned up very well. I would recommend Certified Electric for Recessed Light installation and other electrical work.

Description of Work: CES installed a 20 amp breaker and approximately 100 feet of outdoor wire and an outdoor plug for a pond and waterfall we are installing in our rear yard. Wiring was run along side of house and then in a trench I had had dug in the back yard. They got the work done in just about two hours and their price -- time + materials was half what four other electricians quoted me. We would definitely recommend them to others.

Description of Work: I am redoing my kitchen and called Certified Electric to get a second opinion on an electrical quote I received from the general contractor. This was the best experience! Outstanding customer service, patient in explaining the work that needed to be done and the estimate came in way under the previous quote for the same work. I will definitely be hiring Certified to do the work!

Description of Work: I called CET after an experience with a circuit breaker getting "thrown" repeatedly and not being able to isolate the item that was overloading the circuit. I spoke with Steve in the Fairfax office who reviewed with me potential causes and, through our discussion, ruled out some possibilities while providing details about what could be happening with appliance motors and with additional draws on amperage. Steve assured me I was not in a fire hazard situation and we discussed procedures to follow if and when the situation arises again. I asked about changing items from one circuit to another and Steve explained why he felt this was not necessary regarding both safety (a priority) and the cost. Although CET did not come to my home to provide service, based on the professional interactions and my confidence in his explanations and responses, I will call them when I next need to consult with/hire an electrician.

Description of Work: We had a discount for them to do a whole house evaluation. They looked at all of the breakers and checked all of the outlets and fixtures.

Description of Work: I had purchased a Living Social coupon for two-hours of CET's time ($125.00) to use toward some electrical projects i needed complete. The service guy (I believe was Allen) called me ahead of time to let me know he would be arriving shortly. Upon his arrival i went through my list of projects I was hoping he could complete within the 2 hour timeframe. He replaced a motor in my upstairs bathroom exhaust fan, re-wired my over the counter "kitchen lights" and switch; then installed a brand new light on my deck (which none existed prior) and new switch and wiring for the deck lamp. All was completed within the timeframe, which was unbelieveable! The only extra I was charged was for the new motor, new switches..about $35.00. Total was about $160.00 and all projects complete. I would highly recommend CET (Certified Electrical Technologies) to anyone in need of a professional, courteous and reasonably priced electrician. These guys are AWESOME!!! Thanks again! Lori

Description of Work: I bought a deal ticket for a reduced price that provided two hour of work. We were a couple of days late after the coupon expired and they still honored the price. We had them replace three outside fixture and one inside fixture that require a 16 foot ladder. Everything was done very professionaly and on time. They were neat and thorough and we would defininately use them again.
