Rob arrived punctually and did excellent work on the projects described above. Rob explained the electrical issues very clearly. He knew precisely what he was doing, made sure everything worked well after he had completed each task, and was a pleasure as a professional. Today I called up Certified Electrical Technologies to let them know how satisfied we were with his services and asked that they send him the next time we need their assistance.

I will definitely want to use them again. They got back to me very timely. The technician that came out was just absolutely great. He gave me a fantastic estimate. They came in on that estimate. In fact i think they might have even been below. Lets just say they came in in the estimate because I did not get everything done with them in one sitting. He was very professional and I have nothing bad to say at all.

The experience was very good from start to finish. Certified was very helpful in accomodating my tenant's schedule by making the appointment late in the day. The technician arrived promptly and was very polite and efficient, and quickly fixed the problem.

CET arrived on time and did a great job. The technician knew his stuff and took the time to do the job right. He clearly explained what he was going to do, and always asked before making decisions that would effect the "look" of the work being done. Great job, I am keeping these guys on my "hot list"

The electrician was prompt, fast, efficient, and professional. I had to call him back a few days later because one of the new switches that I had provided was buzzing. He returned and replaced the switch with no additional charge. I am very impressed with this company. Their prices are very reasonable, compared to other eletrical companies I have used in the past. I have already recommended them to my daughter, and we will use them again.

They arrived on time. I was given an estimate of 1-2 hours for the job and it took about 1.5 hours. I was pleased with the work and the cost.

Rick arrived on time, seemed very knowledgeable, and worked steadily until finished. When I asked for his opinion of the circuit breaker box, he said it was fine for my intended use - someone else might have tried to sell me an upgrade I didn't need. That, and the total price coming in at less than expected, will have me call this company whenever I need electrical work done. In addition, my initial contact with the office left nothing to be desired, and they reconfirmed the date and time. This was an excellent experience.

As noted in my review for services performed on 03/30/12, in February 2012 I purchased two Angie's List coupons for Certified Electrical Technologies (CET) to:1) Install a power/lightening surge protector on my electrical panel ($175), and2) Perform a whole house safety inspection ($89). CET installed the power/lightening surge protector on my electrical panel on 03/30/12. I purchased the coupon for a whole house safety inspection because the fuse randomly was blown when we used our microwave. Mr. Petry, CET representative, explained that he was confident the reason the fuse was blown when we used our microwave was because it did not have a dedicated line to the electrical panel. Therefore, the microwave was forced to use the same line as many other electrical items in our house and would cause the fuse to be blown. After a phone call to Mr. Petry's supervisor (Gary Epstein), we agreed that the whole house safety inspection would not be performed. Instead, the coupon ($89) would be credited towards future services to be performed to put the microwave on a dedicated line to the electrical panel. On 04/23/12, Mr. Petry returned, put the microwave on a dedicated line to the electrical panel, and made sure to credit my bill for the $89 coupon. Once again, I was both impressed and appreciated the professionalism, expertise, and flexibility the CET crew demonstrated with the services performed.

The tech they sent over was simply wonderful. I had an outlet in my bedroom that didn't appear to be working. He followed the line outside and back in. Turns out it was just a simple fix from the breaker. I also needed to have an additional outlet installed in my living room. This proved to be quite a task because he had to drill through a wood post in the floor to the basement to run the line, which was apparently as hard as a rock as it took him quite a bit of time. He was patient and diligent and got the job done for me in the 2 hours allotted for the big deal. He also ran my cable line up through the newly created hole and gave me a proper cable outlet, instead of the long cable line i had running along the wall. I have had friends use this company and they have been just as pleased. Highly highly recommended.

CET was prompt (responded quickly, came at the beginning of the three hour window), worked quickly, and was very friendly, explaining everything he was doing and what caused it to happen. If only all service calls could go like this!

The fellow who came out was a real trouper and was determined. He was a hard worker and knew what he was doing. He worked from three to eight in the evening. He completely melted and destroyed two drill beds trying to get through the ceiling of my garage. He eventually did it but ended up slicing his finger and destroying his equipment in the process. He did a good job but I felt sorry for him. He was up against a problem which was out of his league. I informed the company it was concrete but despite this he came out with inadequate equipment. He should have had better equipment. But given the equipment he had he did a great job. I was very impressed with his determination and perseverance. He was not able to attach the electric cable to the ceiling. He worked for a really long time like five hours but did not charge me the full amount which he could have which was really nice. When I originally called them about the job they asked me to send photographs. I took photographs and sent it to them. This made sense but they did not realize my garage was made out of solid concrete through the pictures. They do a good job as long as it is not something unusual. If I need them to do something challenging I have to make it clear to them what is involved as they do not make use of the information I provide them. I would not use them again in the future.

CET is fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone needing any type of electrical work done. The quote was fair and they work very fast to get the job done. The people I spoke to on the phone could not have been more helpful and polite. The quality of work was amazing and the gentleman who performed the work (Alan) even had helpful suggestions about the placement of the lights.

Rob showed up on time and diagnosed the problem very quickly (a wire clamp had been tightened too much and created a short). Rob also moved another outlet for me and took down a light. He was efficient yet thorough and taught me a bit about how the kitchen was wired. Because I was at the mercy of an unknown entity, I had been worried this seemingly simple repair would end up costing several hundred (or thousand) dollars and considered trying to fix it myself. I played it safe and am very happy I did. Now I know the repair was done right, and for a fair price.

Overall, I was satisfied with the services received. ***Update as of 6/19/2012: I contacted the company after the electricity in the room in which they removed a ceiling fan was no longer working. I wanted them to come have a look at it since they were the last one's working on the electric in there. I was told by Steve that in order to schedule an appointment, I would have to give my credit card number over the phone. I was very offended by this and refused. In addition, they were going to charge me $125 just to come and take a look at it. I would okay paying the service charge if the lack of electricity was unrelated, but if it's something they caused, I should not be responsible for paying for the service call.***

Technician was very thorough, trying to get to the root of the power outage in 2 rooms. He checked and tightened the fuse box, checked and tightened the electrical outlet and switches and made some common sense suggestions about power saving light bulbs and dimmers. In all, a good experience and we learned alot! This is why I choose this company each time we have an electrical issue to resolve. They perform services, explain everything in detail, and charge a reasonable rate each time.

Dave was on time, quick, and very professional. I highly recommend CET.

I strongly recommend AGAINST having CET bid on your electrical project. The manager, Gary, is rude, arrogant, and unresponsive. Dustin, of CET, gave me a phone quote of $2300 for an electrical service upgrade, and an additional $1400 to install a manual generator interlock switch and inlet. When I asked for details on the manual interlock setup and it's cost, he offered to have his manager call me. Manager Gary called me shortly thereafter and quoted $500 for the generator interlock setup (Interesting that the original quote was $900 more, but that's another issue). I asked Gary for details on the interlock mechanism that would be installed in the new electrical panel, describing one I had seen, and asking if that's what CET would install. He said no, but they use something that performs similarly. He was very evasive, refusing to clarify what CET would install. He finally said the interlock could be accomplished by "a plate, a bar, a rubber band, or bubblegum". When I asked what mechanism CET uses, he replied "bubblegum". Giving Gary the benefit of the doubt as to his competence, his response was rude and unprofessional. There are a TON of competent electrical contractors listed here with competitive prices. Why deal with one that's unprofessional, rude and arrogant? If they act this way at the beginning of a transaction, what can you expect AFTER they have your money?

It was a very good experience from being able to chat live with a technician and make an appointment immediately. The company has Saturday appointments so we didn't have to take time off from work to get the light fixed. We will definitely use this company again for any electrical needs we have.

They promptly responded to my e-mail and provided an accurate estimate. The office personnel were very courteous. They scheduled me for my preferred Saturday morning and didn't charge extra for working on the weekend. Rick the electrician gave me helpful recommendations and was very prompt and professional. When the kitchen light had to be replaced a second time because the light was broken, the company gave me half off the return visit even though it was not the company or technician's fault the light was broken. They followed up with an e-mail to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction and sent me a $20 coupon for my next service. I would definitely recommend them and will turn to this company for all of my electrical needs.

The electrician was extremely thorough and quick. All work was accomplished within an hour.

My husband recently installed a new light fixture and the directions stated that you should consult w/ an electrician about the wire rating if your home was built before 1985. That prompted me to look for a home electrical inspection (especially since our home inspector missed some things when we bought this house 5 years ago). I called CET and Dustin answered the phone. He provided helpful info about the wiring caution provided with the directions for the light fixture. I scheduled the home electrical inspection for my peace of mind. The appt was scheduled for about a week from the time I called. Rob the tech called me 30 minutes before he expected to arrive, as I had requested. (We have dogs and I like to get them in a room w/ a closed door so that workers don't have to worry about them being under foot.) Rob got straight to work and checked the panel, tested GFCI outlets, and checked the lines into the house. Although all of our smoke detectors are battery operated, he reminded me that they should be replaced every 5-7 years. He found two minor repairs that were needed, one with a small chance of causing a fire; he was able to complete those repairs while on site for $34.50. I will definitely call CET again if we need any electrical repairs.

The man who came out installed nine lights in just over six hours. He was fantastic; he was on time, efficient, he cleaned up after himself and he checked to see that everything worked. They are all excellent every year and when I call to make arrangements, they ask questions and that helps get the process done well when they get here. I rate them highly and will continue to use them in the future.
