Certified Electrical Technologies

I purchased a Angies List special for recessed lighting in August of 2011. I finally got around to having Certified Electrical Technologies come out and install them sometime in January. They arrived on time, and the installer did an excellent job explaining the process. He was neat, and cleaned up after the project was completed.

We had an excellent experience with Certified Electrical Technologies who installed 4 recessed lights. They were prompt and professional when arranging the appointment. The technician sent was personable and professional as well. Our house is old, and he handled the ancient plaster walls well, informing us along the way when he encountered any issues. The work was done efficiently and well. The one tiny problem was that one bulb broke while being installed and he had no extras in his truck. Other than that, which was an easy fix for us, it was a great experience and I recommend them highly.

We called Certified Electrical Technologies Thanksgiving morning and received a call back from them promptly on Friday. Steve asked questions about our problem (none-working outlets) and provided us step-by-step instructions on how to troubleshoot and reset the GFI over the phone. He was very courteous and helpful. We were so impressed we forgot to wish him a Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Holidays!

The overall experience was excellent. The appointment was made with Steve and it was helpful to give a detailed description of what we wanted done and the condition of the work sites. In one location we were replacing a fluorescent light fixture with a ceiling fan and Steve told us that it was probable that there would not be an utility box in that location and one would need to be installed, which turned out to be the case. Based on the information we provided he gave us an estimate that turned out to be within $10 of the actual cost. Allan, the electrician who performed the work, called about 20 minutes before arriving as we were told would happen and he arrived within the window of time we were given. He was friendly and courteous, reviewed the job upon arrival and went right to work. He installed the two fan boxes and then the fans in under four hours and at slightly below the estimated cost. He left the work sites clean and tested each fan to ensure proper operation before he left. We were very happy with the service provided by CET and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others in need of electrical work.

I had used Certified Electrical Technologies before and knew they were good but I also knew that electrical work isn't cheap so I jumped at the chance to get this coupon for two hours of work for $125. They sent the same technician who had previously worked at my house. I needed to have several light fixtures installed and he knew he had two hours to do it so he kept checking the time to be sure he didn't go over the 2 hours. I have purchased two other coupons with time limits and in both of those cases, there were 2 workers and my two hours were up by the time they returned from Lowes with their supplies. They then charged me their normal rate (times 2) to do the rest of the work and the project went way over budget. Not so with CET. He finished in time and there were no additional charges. I will continue to use them, with or without a coupon.

Great experience overall. Fans were installed quickly. Any mess from cut drywall was cleaned. Technician verified performance of all fans and even balanced them.

The technician and company was wonderful, prompt and courteous. I had to reschedule my original appt time/date which they accomodated with ease. I would use again.

We bought an AL deal for 4 recessed lights installed. I set up the appointment, they called 15 minutes ahead of time. The technician, Allan, arrived early. He counseled me on location for the installation, pros-cons, walked me through the job. He seemed competent and easy to talk with. I had preschool drop offs and pickups, and he had no problem with me leaving him alone at the job (and I was totally comfortable doing so. I found him very trustworthy). He finished in 4 hours and while he was there, I asked him to take a look at my doorbell and move a light fixture (at my cost). The rates for those two jobs were reasonable and he was quick. Overall, I would highly recommend them. I would use them again, in an instant, and I thought Allan, in particular was great.

I received an estimate on the phone of around $200, which was pretty close to the final price. Rob arrived on time and completed all the work in about in hour. He was very pleasant and professional. I've used Certified Electric Technologies in the past, and I will continue to rely on them in the future.

Bought a special on Angies list.- 4 can lights installed for $399. Person who came to my house was excelent. I have an older house with hard plaster ceilings and walls. I know this can be a challange -He took extra care to not create any damage. Lights look and work great. When he drove away all was perfect, he cleaned up and it was like he was never there except I have better lighting!

The second visit went very well, The technician knew exctly what to do to fix the problem.

Did it through Angie's list deal. Overall a great experience. Very experienced. Very reliable. Did an excellent job. The only snafu was scheduling the work because of overwhelming response to their Angie's list deal.

The technician Alan called 15 minutes before arriving to let me know he was on his way and arrived punctually. He laid down protective material in our formal living room and worked with me to determine the best location of the recessed lights. He put tape in the proposed locations and we talked through the pros and cons of distance from the walls. Once we agreed upon location, he spent about three hours installing the lights and running the necessary wiring. He also had to install a new light switch in the wall since we still wanted the outlet to be on a switch. Alan was very neat in his work and did not make any unnecessary cuts in the ceiling dry wall. He was in and out of our home within 3.5 hours. He was also very patient with our two cats who are very friendly and wanted to offer him a lot of help.

I contacted CET after looking at reviews on Angie's list. I contacted them via email and after a few email exchanges we were closed on the price of the services and also on the date. Within a few days, I received a confirmation in my mail. The day the service was to be performed, I received a call from Dave that he would be there within 30 minutes and he was there in about 30 minutes. Before he started work, he removed / asked me to remove anything that could have been damaged during the installation. He explained what he was going to do and once that was done, he pretty much locked himself up and two hours later the work was all done. He has done a great job with the installation and the room now looks great. And the room was as clean if not cleaner than before he started to work :). Although, fixing dry walls wasnt a part of our contract, he even offered to help and later told me how I could do it myself. I am very happy with the service and will contact CET for any future electrical work, which I am sure is coming up soon!

The whole experience was great, from the first contact (I received a response to my email in less than an hour), to subsequent emails as we ironed out a date and the details of the work. The electrician, Dave, arrived promptly and was awesome the entire time he was here! He did a lot of work for us (brand new house so needed a lot of lights put up), I hope I remember to list everything - he installed three ceiling fans directly from the box (my hubby and I only assembled the blades in advance) and four chandeliers (again, we didn't do much prep work) and one of them was huge (11 lights). He also swapped out some outlets for us - I think there were four. Dave's care and attention to detail was wonderful - he personalized every one of the chandeliers, making sure the height was exactly what we wanted, and made the adjustments necessary. He even had to take one chandelier down to make some adjustments and then re-hang just to make sure it was just right. One chandelier was a bit lopsided - probably something happened in shipping - but Dave insisted upon it being perfect. His attention to detail was phenomenal and it shows in the quality work he did. We are so pleased with the service, and the price was very fair, that we will definitely reach back to them for our future electrical needs! Thank you Dave, and the CET team!

All positives. I made the appointment with the owner. He and I discussed my situation thoroughly - configuration of house, ceiling, attic, current electrical, etc. I made the appointment and Allen showed up on time after giving me a call when he was about 30 minutes away. He was professional, efficient, considerate, immaculate, and obviously knew what he was doing. For the living room, he tapped power from an existing overhead light fixture and showed me how the wiring in the fixture was ?gone;? it actually looked like a fire hazard. I went to Home Depot and Purchased a new one which he installed at no additional charge. We discussed additional electrical work once a couple more of my paychecks cleared. Good professional work finished quicker than estimated since I had my locations all planned out and because Alan said that there were no surprised in my ceiling.

I bought the Angie's deal for my mother. She was very pleased. The electrician was on-time, courteous and professional.

Steve at CET lined us up with an appointment and was able to give us an estimate (based on hourly rate) on the work we needed to have done for a bathroom renovation. The appointment was made on a Friday for the following Tuesday. Eric was the technician and he called ahead to let me know when he would be arriving (which was right within the four-hour window). We are remodeling a guest bathroom and have it demo'd down to the studs. In 4 hours, Eric installed a combo light/fan with its own switch, wired for a vanity light strip, removed an outlet that was blocking access for a pocket door, and moved a thermostat from one side of a door to the other. Eric was very professional and efficient and cleaned up after himself. He explained everything he was doing and was even nice to our evil cat! Highly recommend!

Work was started immediately upon arrival. Working area was covered to minimize debris on floor, furniture, etc.

Already about an hour after we had booked the whole house security check, we received a call for scheduling an appointment. The service technician called about 15 minutes before he arrived, was right on time in the two hour window we had arranged for. When he arrived he immediately handed us his business card. When he performed the check, he worked very methodological, asked a number of questions, and was very friendly and professional at all times. He also made some recommendations of issues we should take care of, especially the installation of gfi outlets in the kitchen and for gfi outlets outside. He also gave us an estimate for the recommended work and answered some questions about the wiring of the house.

John was great, and so was the service provided. My only frustration is that they offer 10% off if your service is over $200. We paid on the initial service day when John figured out what was wrong ($125) and then again on the day of the actual service ($180). With it broken up into two services, and two payments, it made it impossible to use the 10% off coupon. It would be better if they charge you for everything in the end, not in parts to void the coupon.

They were friendly, professional, competent, and quick.

Very professional, very helpful. Set my mind at ease about whether we were overloading our old electrical system with all our gadgets and extension cords, and gave me good information about how much it might cost to add an outlet in a bathroom and what it would take to put a microwave above our stove.

Rob was great. My husband and I both purchased this deal. He came and installed recessed lights - gave us advice - was professional. We liked him so much we added on work to do our exterior lights. Great job!
