I wanted the inspection specifically because CET was offering an Anglie's List special of 4 recessed lights and dimmer for $399 and I wanted to confirm with an electrician first that my circuit box and my basement ceiling could both handle the extra load. CET was extremely responsive when I called and was able to give me an appointment right away. The technician who came to the house, Dave, was congenial, professional and assured me that I did not need any major electrical upgrade in order to install additional lights. He was not familiar with the $399 offer, so I explained what it was and asked him if he would be the one to do the work. I was pleased when he said he was the technician in my area and would also be doing the installation. He answered all my questions. We discussed scheduling for the next job. I was very pleased with the service both on the phone and with Dave and look forward to having lights installed in my basement ceiling post-Christmas. At this point I have no reason to expect anything but another job well done.

The tech was polite, professional and very patient with me as he explained everything throughout. I asked a ton of questions and you got the idea that he loved what he did and didn't mind talking about it. I would ABSOLUTELY use CED again!!!

The scheduling was easy and the technician arrived on time and did the work to my satisfaction. Not too much to say about the install. The work was done quickly and to my satisfaction. They sent a coupon for other work to be completed by mail.

Electrician called ahead of time as promised to let us know his ETA to our house. Ahead of them coming we arranged to have them pick up the post and fixture from the vendor where we purchased the items. Certified Electrical let us know they charge for the time they spend in going and getting the items, which we agreed to. Electrician was thorough and careful in his work. He dug a small trench when necessary to run the wiring through our front yard to the location of the post. He did the work to set the post in concrete and wired everything up. He installed light bulbs as appropriate. Lamppost has been performing well since the installation. Electrician also quickly did a separate job of installing an automatic light switch for porch lights. The electrician was polite, considerate, and performed the work well. We would not hesitate to call upon them for future jobs.

I found CET through a Angie's list deal on installing ceiling fans--because of the response to the deal, they were backlogged and it took a few weeks to schedule work. Then, when I added tasks, we had to schedule a second trip. During the installation, I was caught off guard by an added expense of some ceiling mounting brackets, not included in the deal price- and surprisingly expensive ($70)--but he had them in his van. However, I trust they were necessary--and the ceiling fans are quiet--not an easy thing to install. On other tasks, they seemed very honest, not trying to overcharge me.

Amazing customer service - from scheduling the appointment through the delivery of services. The individual who scheduled my appointment was professional and his follow up (email appointment reminders & postcards) was impeccable. Allen, the technician who arrived was professional and personable. Great service. I would use CET again and I would also recommend them!

We bought a Big Deal for the installation of a whole house surge protector. The technician was prompt and professional, and the installation went without a hitch. The nature of the device is such that you don?t know if it?s working, but nothing has blown out so far. We liked the company, so when we had another electrical issue we called them. An outlet in the house was originally wired incorrectly, causing improper voltage to surge through the circuit, resulting in burned out appliances. The technician from Certified Electrical Technologies diagnosed the problem immediate upon arrival, and repaired it quickly at a reasonable cost. We like this company, and plan to call them to do more work for us in the near future.

Everything went smoothly. I had to reschedule once, which was no problem. Alan was professional and performed the work quickly.

All the fixtures were supplied by me. The work was scheduled promptly and completed as promised. The installer was thorough. A followup quality assurance phone call was initiated by the company a few days later. My only complaint was that the kitchen undercabinet light worked sometimes and other times did not. The company informed me that they could send a tech to check the work but if it was a faulty fixture I would be charged. I declined the recheck on that account but later found out that the reason it sometimes did not turn on was because it was on a circuit controlled by the wall switch. Problem solved.

I am not in the habit of taking time to write reviews unless the company deserves an exellent review....but i had to recount this horrible experience. The electrician seemed professional and arrived on time, but when he left I noticed there was a crack in tjhe drywall where he mounted the outlet. When the team came to install the TV the next day, they discovered that he had attached the outlet to the drywall, and in this case, felt it would not pass code. The outlet was NOT secured on a nearby stud...just the broken drywall. Certified electric never returned my call until I told them I was contacting Angie's list. I got a an email from Gary who said they would come and replace a ceiling fan in my family room (cathedral ceiling) free of charge. I told him it was a two person job to my recollection because I helped install the first one. He said no problem. For numerous reasons, it took me time to schedule the install, and in the interim, my stove fan failed. I asked if he would consider doing that job instead of the fan. He said he would apply a $75 credit to the job which was much lower than the fan job, but I agreed. The service man was supposed to come last Friday at 8am. Instead I got a call at 8 am saying he was sick. I rescheduled for Monday at 3 pm. When I called to confirm, Gary said they could not do the job. I asked what the could do in lieu of that. I had an outdoor light which needed to be installed or we could do the ceiling fan as orginally planned. He said he could not do the outside light because there was not enough time in the afternoon at 3 pm so he would do the fan. I again reminded him that the fan was a two person job. He asked me to measure, so I did. I told him it was 8 ft to the bottom of the fan (no light fixture) and that there was a 3-4 ft downrod. He said the electrician had a 12 foot ladder and could do the job. The electican arrived at 2:30 and did not have a 12 ft ladder. He said he was there to fix the stove fan**. He said he might have time to do the outside light, but said the charge, after the $75 would be $215 (labor only) ($290). I asked that I just be given a credit to my AMEX for the $75 as I felt it was not fair price. Gary refused. I also agreed to pay $180 for the job after the discount was applied ($255 overall) but Gary refused to accept what amounted to a fixed fee (3 hours) of work which was based on his own estimate of $90/hr. Then he became excessively rude, told me I just wanted to argue and asked what it would take to "make me go away". He became verbally abusive, so I told him it was not worth any amount of money to continue the discussion and handed the phone back to the electrician. I have been a homeowner and was an office manager for a construction firm....I have never experienced anything like this! The way I see it, I took time off of work TWICE to accomodate them. They came WITHOUT the time, tools, and /or skills to do the job(s)... It seemed to me they had no intention of making amends for the outlet job and were just trying to leverage another full price job I will never do business with this company. I consider them dishonest and incompetent.

I let the coupon expire (I thought) without calling Certified Electrical Technologies. I received a very nice phone call from se service manager informing me that their coupons never expire! After I told him what I would like done, he described in detail what the technician would look for, and precisely what to expect. We made an appointment for the services to be done in two weeks.

They did an excellent job and did not rush at all. Then CET installed a pendant light for me and we scheduled another time for them to install additional lighting. I found them to be very responsive and easy to work with. I look forward to having them as electricians I can trust and who will give me fair pricing with excellent work.

This service was a Big Deal I purchased for my son. The electrician arrived on time and installed two ceiling fans and re-hung a chandelier. He worked efficiently and did all of the work in the two hour window we had paid for so there was no extra expense. He did an excellent job, and I was very pleased that my son was so happy! A fantastic value!

Everything was great overall.

I called to set up an appointment. An operator asked for my contact information so someone could call me later. I never received a return call. I am going to use someone else who was recommended by a friend. I only joined Angie's List for this one project and now I am not getting any benefit from it. I will not be able to recommend Angie's List because my experience has been that the highly rated providers are too busy.

The quality of work was outstanding. I highly recommend these folks.

Arrived on time, went straight to work, finished on time. First rate job.
