 + -1 moreTheir price was way high. They didn't really do anything, they just checked the leaking that I had. There was no repair to be done. They just told me to let the ceiling dry. The guy was nice. They gave me some regular maintenance pricing.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for a water leak diagnosis. I had them check the leaking that I had.

Description of Work: Hot water heater flushed and clogged drain cleared. I have a maintenance contract with Ben Franklin, and they have always been professional and courteous. The builder of me home left me with several plumbing issues, and I have relied on Ben Franklin to correct them all. They have replaced my hot water heater, as well as my kitchen faucet, and gave me good prices and quality work.

Description of Work: They were called out twice to snake and clear my sewer line. It turned out I had to call another plumbing company, who worked with our local sewer company to determine a piece of snake head had been left deep in my sewer line. Benjamin Franklin was not willing to take any responsibility and left me with a huge bill to extract the snake head coil and repair my sewer line. They had also misdiagnosed my original problem and gave me very inaccurate information regarding the location of my sewer line. | |I would NEVER use this company for ANY type of plumbing work.

 + -1 moreWe had a leaking shower faucet and a bad mixer in a different faucet. Visit 1: The guy pushed the $500 contract. He then said the cost would be about $1000 to repair both but never even looked at the issue. He took pictures of the valve because he needed to contact his guy to special order it because it was "old". He never called once to say he found the part but never returned phone calls. Eventually we learned he was no longer with the company but the company never followed up with us. I called the national number and they contacted the local company and I was told I would be contacted immediately. Few days went by and I went on a hunt and found the local company which brought us visit #2. Visit 2: Much, much more competent plumber. He looked at the issue and the estimate was not $1,100 for both bathroom faucets to be fixed which is even higher than the first plumber's estimate. The part is also common and did not require a special order. In the end, I called a local plumber and it was fixed for $300 (parts and labor). It has been used for a month with no issues. I'm sure Benjamin Franklin plumber is competent but $1,100 for a 1.5 hour job replacing a valve and mixer that did not need to be special ordered.
Description of Work: Provided an extremely high estimate from their menu of costs and want you to but their $500 contract.

Description of Work: I have used Ben Franklin several times for plumbing issues in my home. Most recently they installed a new hot water heater. The space was small and cramped, but they managed everything perfectly. I would highly recommend them.
