Description of Work: We had water leaking into the basement through the cinder blocks. Seeking the most permanent solution, we opted for the instillation of a French drain system including drains in the window wells and sump pumps. The job turned out to be a little more difficult than expected since the basement floor proved to be thicker and harder than the norm, so it took a bit longer than originally planned. The crew did an excellent job, using ample plastic sheeting to protect from the dust generated. They cleaned up very well when they were done. At all times, everyone was polite and professional, taking time to address our concerns and questions.

Description of Work: The first time Jay came to my home, he suggested a couple of ways that I could possibly correct the issue on my own. I jumped at the chance of a solution costing under $25, when a waterproofing system would run into the thousands! The measures I took worked for the first few light rains, but then, another downpour happened, and I had to call Jay back. I agreed to a sump pump solution and his quote. He gave me a few dates of when they could fit me into their schedule and I picked a convenient day. | |Derrick and his crew showed up promptly at the scheduled time and got to work. They worked hard all day and got it done by the estimated time. Derrick patiently answered all of my questions and offered suggestions on other problem areas around the house. I was unhappy with the way that the outgoing water pipe was going to lay and Derrick offered a few solutions. Since the solution I wanted was beyond their normally included materials, Derrick provided a reasonable cost for the extra work and materials, which I accepted. The crew cleaned up after themselves and left the area tidy. | |We've had a few more heavy rain storms which resulted in the sump pump kicking in. The important part is that the downstairs remained dry! I would highly recommend this company to any and all who need this type of service. |

Description of Work: I am having water issues in one corner of my basement (small area). Called three companies off Angies List. First two immediately wanted to install French drain on two interior walls. Jan Bengston came and indicated that the full drains may not needed but first I needed to determine whether the water is coming from ground or down wall before he could say how to remedy the issue. As Jan suggested, I have removed a couple of small pieces from wallboard and have found that the water is not coming from floor but down the wall. When I find the specific area, only have issue when driving rain comes against the one wall, I will be calling Basement Technologies.

Description of Work: We had had a plumbing company replace a broken pipe running from our well into the house. Afterwards, we had water coming into our downstairs in the area where the pipe came through the foundation. The company came out, dug down to the pipe again and resealed the area. Still kept getting water. They pretty much claimed it wasn't due to their work. We then pursued companies to help with basement leaks, all of whom wanted to put in elaborate drain systems, to the tune of $1000's, which all included digging up 3 feet across the entire family room, which we had just remodeled and had brand new tile floor. Basement Technology came out last, at their request, used a camera to locate where the leak was coming from, videotaped the leak (so we could present this to the original plumbing company!) and then proceeded to fix the problem. Dug about a square foot of an area just under the leak, made like a drainage field, and recemented that area of floor. No problem whatsoever since! We dealt with Jay and Brian and would HIGHLY recommend them!!!! We also sent the video to the original plumbing company and got them to reimburse us the $800 we paid to Basement Technology, once they saw that the leak was directly related to their work!

Description of Work: Whenever it rained water would come into the basement. They sealed the space around the water main coming into the house thru the foundation and around it with an epoxy that they pressure pumped.

Description of Work: We were having ongoing wet basement issues during heavy rains. They installed an interior perimeter french drain and there has been no evidence of water in the basement at all. They were prompt, timely, and courteous. I'd recommend their services.

Description of Work: House built in 1974 with poured concert walls and basement floor. Wall footers and floor not well aligned. During heavy rains was water was increasingly coming into the garage where the floor and walls joined as the water table rose. Did my research and selected Basement Technologies. At the same time an Angie's Big Deal came out for Basement Technologies for $750 worth of work for $299. Could not have scheduled it better. Mr. Jay Bengtson came to the house, assessed the problem and recommended installation of their water trek system consisting digging a trench along the wall, putting in crushed rock, installing a water trek pipe, installing a vinyl wall/cove plate, backfilling with more stone, installing a sump pump and covering the trenching with concrete. The linear foot cost with the Angie's Big Deal was $87.12 per linear foot or $96.33 without the Deal. I had similar work done in 2008 in another part of the house by another contractor that cost $110 per linear foot. On 13 June Basement Technologies' Derrick Tisdale and his 4 man crew began work at 8:30am. He explained what they were going to do and encouraged us to see how they were doing. They immediately covered all of the items in the work area to protect against dust and moved heavy appliances away from the work area and covered them. Everything was cleaned up and they were completed by 2pm. Even the driveway had been washed off. A very courteous and professional crew. There is a life time transferable warranty on the water management system and a 5 yr warranty on the sump pump.

Description of Work: My basement needed waterproofing and I got in contact with Basement Technologies of Fairfax from Angies List. Although I didn't use their service, they were my next choice! In fact, one of my friends observing their review of my water problem wants to use their service. Jay showed up at my residence promptly, was very respectful and professional. He explained what I needed done and how the job would be done. Their cost was very reasonable. I would recommend basement technologies without hesitation.

Description of Work: They gave us the lowest of 3 estimates, but also seemed the most effective way to prevent leaking in future. They came in and did the work quickly, and were willing to add a floor drain at no cost (we ultimately did not do, but appreciated their willingness to work with us). They cleaned up after themselves. Family owned, nice, professional people.

Description of Work: OUTSTANDING honest advice and responsiveness!!! I called Brian, explained my problem of mold in our basement with no signs of water in our basement and he expertly advised me of contacting a mold remediation company first, before spending large amounts of money on a dry basement service. Brian was honest, forthright, and if I need to have the next steps of water-proofing my basement, he definitely will get our business.

Description of Work: I have a rental property that has had a wet basement problem for years. I have had many contractors try to solve the problem without success. I contacted Basement Technologies for assistant. The staff was very prompt in setting up an appointment, met with me and the tenant at the appointed time on a Saturday to review the problem, explained what would be done and when. The team arrived on time,was skillful and courteous. After all the snow and rains we have had, the basement is now DRY.

Description of Work: I noticed an area of drywall in my basement was showing water coming in. I called this past sat and Brian called me back and left me a message within the hour and asked me to take pictures of inside and out and email to Brian which I did. Brian got back to me later sat and asked me to remove some of the drywall to see if the my electrical box had any rust on it any other issues. The drywall was wet and crumbling just below my box.. My box was ok. I sent picture with opening to Jay. Then he said to run water from outside and see if I could see any water coming in. I did that and no water came in. Then he said to put water higher to see if it was coming from behind the siding. Bingo - that is when I saw the water coming down the concrete foundation. At that point Jay says his company does not do those type of repairs and I would have to call siding company to have them check it out.. With Jay's help I was able to pin point my problem and as it turned out with no cost to me. I really appreciated the immediate response and constant quick follow up to get to the bottom of the problem. I would recommend Basement Technologies to anyone. They will be the first one I call in the future if the need arises.

Description of Work: I was visited for an evaluation of a basement dampness problem. The technician sent by the merchant was punctual, knowledgeable and extremely honest and fair in his assessment. He suggested a few simple self-help remedies I could take to address the problem and suggested that I contact AL for a refund. I am extremely impressed by this merchant and plan to add positive comments to the merchant's listing.

Description of Work: Brian had his lead estimator come out and take a look at my basement. He was the only contractor who actually took the time to properly assess the situation. He cut out a chunk of wall, and walked me through what the problem was. I immediately scheduled them to come out and install a pump and a french drain. The job was well executed, the team was prompt and professional. If you're getting a couple quotes I would definitely have them come out last, you'll be glad you did.

Description of Work: hi we were having water problems so we called basement tech. the earliest we could have an appointment was tuesday. today is fri. a little while later my wife called and said the sewer was overflowing. so we called for jim there estimator and he asked a few questions and said call WSSC and call your plumber. we don't do that work. without him were not sure what might have happened. Jim then told us they don't do this kind of work but glad to help. they are the best
