Description of Work: Install 41 feet of interior french drain system with sump pump and drains in two window wells tied into the system. Add an extra layer of protection to cover exposed cinderblock walls and tie that into the drainage system.

Description of Work: I bought a big deal in the hopes that they could put in a vapor barrier in my crawl space but they were unable to provide that service. I as refunded for the big deal purchased.

Description of Work: Mold was growing on a closet wall below ground level. The first repair estimate called for digging a deep trench along the entire back wall, putting in a drain, which would require tearing up the rest of the pavered yard to find "daylight" and much other work. Cost: About $7,500. A second estimate also called for trench digging, but for only half the yard, and no drain. Total estimate: $2,500. With such a range, I decided to get a third estimate. After checking Angies List, I called Basement Technologies. An appointment was arranged within a one hour range on a Saturday to obtain a free estimate. The estimator arrived early. Unlike the other two, he cut a small hole in the drywall. We saw no sign of a leak. The cinderblocks and timbers were dry. At his suggestion, I went outside and hosed down the entire area in question. No sign of a leak. As was the case with another reviewer, he suggested several do-it-yourself alternatives, including a little exterior grouting of pavers near the wall, caulking an outside water faucet, and putting a bucket of a dehumidifying substance in the closet you can get at Home Depot in the closet. He suggested that if the problem returned, he would be glad to come by for a more extensive examination. He spent nearly an hour on the problem, with no charge. The other two spent less than 15 minutes on the problem. Jay, the Basement Technologies estimator, and I concluded that there was insufficient evidence to embark on a major and expensive job. He also gave me reasons why if the problem was a foundation leak, our neighboring townhouses would likely see some problem. Although my condo association would pay for a major exterior repair to the foundation, I am going with Jay and Basement Technologies for now. I very much appreciate his extensive time on the estimate, his careful review of the situation, and a recommendation that gains Basement Technologies nothing but good will and a favorable Angies List review.

Description of Work: I experienced water seepage in my basement during Super Storm Sandy and contacted four companies to provide estimates for identifying and correcting the problem.

Description of Work: Basement Technologies installed a drainage system along the base of one full wall in my basement where water came in during Hurricane Sandy. The tore up the concrete, installed drainage pipe with gravel surround, mounted vinyl sheeting 6in up the wall, and tied all pipes into an existing sump pump.

Description of Work: Hi we actually never ended up using the service due to scheduling. It was mostly my problem with forgetting about it and then not being able to schedule. We ended up cancelling and got our money back which was good and not a hassle at all. I did not mind.

He took time and did evaluation for us. We all agreed it was external pipe broken issue. He also found out the sump pump did not work. He suggested which sump pump to buy and where to get it and how to install it. He also gave us some accessory parts for free. We hired external plumbing company fixed the pipe broken issue. But we really appreciate Basement Technologies' Jay being so helpful for us! Strongly recommend!

Description of Work: I had a gentleman come to my home and we checked out the spots on the wall and corner that were my concern. He discussed the system that he had to offer and had I had a problem with water in the basement, I would have had him put in his system.
