Could not ask for better service even when no services other than diagnosis was performed. Rather than upselling me on something I don't need, or looking around my 40 year-old basement to "find problems", he shook my hand and left wishing me luck with the plumber. Honesty goes a long way with me.

The experience overall was great. the tech took the time to properly diagnose the problem. Out of all the companies that provided me with a quote for waterproofing, this was the only company that thought to spray the house with a water hose to pinpoint exactly where the water was coming in at. All the other companies that provided quotes simply took 2 minutes to look around then recommended a "standard full basement repair". These guys recommended a specific solution that didn't require me ripping up the entire basement. They also provide a lifetime warranty that can be transferred when I go to sell the house.I would recommend working with these guys. The tech's name was Jay.

We accepted their bid. The crew arrived on time, cut through the wall and flooring as necessary, installed the drainage system and sump pump, cleaned up their debris, and finished the job on time. It was a very good experience.

Jay was my very last appointment per the instuctions of when I initally called Basement Technologies. He needed to be my last estimate because by then I was exhausted from sitting through six presentations from different companies. **General rule of thumb is get 2-3 quotes on a job but 6 is overkill. Only reason why I had so many people come out is because the prices were all over the place, ranging from $25k-6800. Needlesstosay I felt like I earned a Phd in hydrostatic pressure by the time Jay showed up. He was at my door as scheduled, introduced himself and went straight to the basement. I explained he was number 6 so I understood the science behind my water issues I just need a solution. His approach was professional yet casual and I could tell he knew what he was doing. While in the basement he explained the proposed work and answered any of my objections honestly. Some of the ideas other companies wanted to do would have opened pandora's box due to age of my home. His sales approach was different, I interpreted it as no pressure-this is what it is, great if you go with us, great if you dont. His crew has been together for a long time and are all family. He was able to schedule the repairs right away and it could of been done sooner if not due to my schedule. Fast forward to the actual work day---Jay and his crew showed up as scheduled and were professional. After prepping the traffic area through my house, they started working around 8am and completed 3/4 of the work by the end of the day. The crew came back out 730am and completed the job by early afternoon. Other companies were telling me it would take 4-5 days to complete the same job. I appreciated the crews time efficency because I could not miss a week of work to take care of this issue. When the job was completed I could not believe the transformation. Basement Technologies did a great job and the basement looks 100 times better. Due to the size of my home I do not plan on utilizing the basement for additional living space but it is nice to know I dont have a dungeon anymore. A few days after there was a terrible rain storm and put the sump pump system to the test. I had noticed there was one corner that leaked and contacted Jay. He was able to come out right away and correct the minor issue. Overall, doing business with Jay was refreshing because I was very sceptical of contractors in general. He addressed the issues, did what he said he would do, and was dependable. The price was alittle higher than another company I was leaning with but Jay's price was a better deal and included a transferable warrenty.

We have had recurring water coming in the lower level of our split foyer home across the front of the house which is the only area where the sill plate is below ground level. This would only occur during long continuous rains which we just had the weekend prior to calling Basement Technologies. I called Basement Technologies on Monday morning and spoke with Jay Bengtson who explained in detail what he would do to correct the problem as he had customers with similar style homes and grading.. After I explained to Jay what we had done in the past to correct the problem which was sealing the sill plate in the area of the front door, Jay suggested sealing the rest of the front on either side of the front door at the sill plate. Jay said his crew would be out by 8:00am In a few days after my call. Jay sent his 2 employees who arrived 7:45am, and explained to me the process of the work to be done as Jay suggested on the phone. After digging down to the sill plate they showed me the slight opening where the sill plate meets the poured concrete, which gave me a good feeling of the location of the leak. They Applied hydrauLic cement, tar, and heavy plastic just below and above the sill plate at the foundation across the entire 36 ft of frontage of the home. When the 2 workers had completed their work filling the trenched out area and replaced the red stone that they had placed in buckets. You could not tell they were there as the area was left very neat. Upon completion of the job the guys explained to me everything they did to fix our leak. Jay has a very professional well run company and responded to our needs promptly, professionally and at a fair cost. We extend our sincere thanks to Basement Technologies, and we would definitely use this company again.

We solicited quotes from vendors to estimate the cost to mitigate water leaks into our basement. One vendor did a quick walk through and provided an estimate within 20 min with little discussion. Jay from Basement Technologies came for about an hour, drilling holes and testing and re-testing locations where the water was leaking into the wall. Basement Technologies provided what we considered was a reasonable estimate for the proposed scope of work. Basement Technologies exceeded our expectations. During our appointment with Basement Technologies, we scheduled RotoRooter to snake our outside drains. This was a huge mistake. The RotoRooter technician snaked for less than 5 minutes before telling me that there was a mud and the pipe was broken and we were stuck with a $350 bill. Basement Technologies witnessed this and figured out what was wrong and spent time and effort to make sure our outside drain was properly fixed. We are more than satisfied with the professionalism and customer service of Basement Technologies.

Jay came on Saturday , gave estimate and was very clear in his explanations, also the low of several bids. Explained Angie's discounts and we signed before he left. The 4 man team came a few days later, and finished in less than 6 hours. Very neat, clean, professional.

Their quote was $3200, which was lesser than what another company had quoted me but the other guys were doing more like patching up the wall and painting it and so on. The guy that came over from Basement Technologies was very polite. Everything was the same; the only different thing this company did was they cut a hole in the wall, so that we could see if there was water in the wall, because I didn’t know if the water was coming from the ground or the from within the walls. He did try to patch up a little bit though.

Always a great job. From start to finish. The crew is very respectfull . I love how the entire crew is made up of all family. I could not work with family personally but these guys work in perfect unison . Not once did I have to re explain anything. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a straight forward honest diagnosis of there basement.

High pressure sales technique, didn't proceed beyond that phase. UPDATE 4/23: This actually got much, much worse after my original review. Despite my request that they leave me alone, they called me dozens of times after this review was posted, leaving voice mails each time (I have saved them all, if anyone wants proof). Angie's List had to get involved and contact them directly to ask them to stop. Regarding their "reply" below, their statements are primarily lies (peppered with bits of truth). Two points, "CALLER WAS VERY RUDE RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING" - no, I wasn't. I was very polite. I was sitting next to my wife and she would have smacked me if I had been rude to a stranger on the phone. And, "HE SUDDENLY SAID 'I'M CALLING ANOTHER COMPANY' AND SLAMMED THE PHONE" - I was calling you from my cellphone, which cost me $400. I certainly would never slam it; rather I inaudibly pushed the touchscreen 'End' button after thanking you for your time. Their all-caps wall-of-text reply speaks for itself. Avoid them.

We called them to come out and give an estimate. Jay arrived for the estimate on time and was very professional. He took the time to answer all of our questions. It was a no pressure estimate, which we really appreciated. We had received two other bids for the job, one of which we dismissed immediately. The other company was offering a similar system, but we went with Basement Technologies because I like their system better and the price was slightly better. Once we called to set up the work, they were able to fit us in the next week. Jay initially thought the job would take 1 1/2 days due to the size of the basement, but they completed the work in 1 day rather than come back. The guys were very professional and extremely helpful. We are having to refinish the basement due to water damage from Sandy, so they took out the walls and drywall along the perimeter for us since they were having to cut the bottom of the walls anyway. When one of our copper pipes started leaking (not a result of the waterproofing), they stayed late to help put a temporary fix on the pipe for us until we could get a plumber out. We couldn't have been happier with the crew or the job.

We had a wet basement issue for 30 years and never had gotten around to fixing it. After 5 other estimates, Basement Technologies was the most cost effective proposing basically the same project details. Jay recommended what all the other companies had proposed but his team was better priced, and available and responsive to our concerns. They were On Time, quite professional, did the job and cleaned up completely. All at a great price. No high pressure sales job. All their transactions ( proposal, contract, deposit warranty and final payment receipt) were all electronic too off portable devises (iPad types). It is family run, brothers and cousins mostly. They know their stuff. We are pleased. Now we are not afraid when it rains. They get in and they get out, just what you want from a contractor.

Jay came to do an estimate. I had thought we were having problems with our sump pump system but it turned out to be a leak in the expulsion pipe. Jay kindly opened up the floor to look at the sump pump and the wall to look at the pipe. He repaired the leak in the pipe at no cost. He thought the problem was probably just the leak. We decided that I would just monitor it and call back if we had water in the basement again. I was very impressed with the professionalism of this company. I really appreciated that even though they came to do an estimate, they fixed my problem at no cost. I will definitely call them if we have other problems with water in the basement and I would definitely recommend them to others.

I called Basement Technologies for advice and an estimate on waterproofing my basement. My experience with them was very positive. Jay, the person that actually does the waterproofing, was very affable and was able to accommodate my rigid schedule. He arrived to our appointment on time. He took the time to inspect my basement and was able to pin-point the source of the moisture. Then he was honest and told me that I only needed the exterior of the front wall waterproofed. Their company doesn't do exterior waterproofing, so I was impressed that integrity was placed above sales. The previous company had told me that I needed front and rear exterior waterproofing (even though there's no water damage on the back side and the rear wall is sheltered by an enclosed sleeper porch), AND they wanted to dig up 3/4 of my fisnished basement to install a sump pump. The whole thing would've cost me 10,000! Thank goodness I got more than one estimate! Jay's honesty and expertise saved me a small fortune and a lot of worries. I was very impressed and pleased.

Jay was on time and very professional. After 30 min of investigation, he identified the leak as coming from a corner of the siding on the outside of the house. This was a quick fix. Jay offered me some quick advice on how to seal the area to stop the leak. No service or other charges. I really appreciate the fact that after seeing the fix would be an easy one, Basement Technologies recommended that I fix the leak and save money doing so. I will call them again if I need basement waterproofing service.

I contacted Basement Technologies via email and received a call bag within 1 hour (probably more like 30 minutes) to set up an appointment for their technician to come out. The initial call was informative and helped me understand the procedure of diagnosing my basement issues. Jay arrived at my home on time and was very polite and professional. I showed him the areas in my basement that were concerning and he asked me many questions to help him understand the history of the problem. He then drilled a couple of holes in the cinder block and threaded a camera into the walls so that he could determine the extent of the moisture problem (standing water, etc.) He performed some other tests and made suggestions along the way. When he was all done, he gave me his suggestions and told me that he would email a detailed quote within a few days. The service call cost me nothing and as it turned out, I didn't have a basement problem that required anything more than painting my cinder block walls with a moisture block paint. Jay was honest about the kind of work that would improve my situation and didn't try to sell me a sump pump or massive excavation work. I would recommend this company -- as a matter of fact, I just gave their number to my neighbor.

Jay followed through as promised, and way above and beyond. The consultancy and research alone had value for me for which I was willing (and offered) to pay, but he insisted it was part of the "free estimate." I will certainly call these folks when/if the time comes again when I'll need their services, and recommend them to all who ask. Thanks!

Excellent....These guys were great...A+ work!. Within 1 hour, I had made initial contact, spoke to an engineer after sending a photo of the damaged area, and had a contract and schedule set up. They came right on time, explained the work, and accomplished it quickly and efficiently within 1 hour. Then they cleaned up and explained what was done...I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone...a job well done!

I had three different, highly rated waterproofing services come out an look at the issues in my basement. Jay was by far the best. He diagnosed my water-entry problem (as so many other reviewers on this site) as an issue at my stoop under the front door. He sprayed water all over the stoop, and my basement leaked. I need a hardscaper, not a waterproofer! He also identified some other issues in my basement water management system that need to be fixed (many of which I was aware of), and I will almost certainly hire these guys. Jay is the only contractor who entered my house with tools, and actually investigated the cause of my leaks. To be crystal clear, other companies were going to charge me in excess of $12,000 to replace perimeter drains to solve a problem with my front steps. This company is an honest broker, and I would recommend them highly.

Went well, arrived as promised even during poor weather (snow). Only way to basement was through front door, covered our hardwood floor and carpeted stairs in plastic. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The jack hammering only lasted about 2 1/2 hours. They pulled back the carpet and moved our furniture to the center of the room. Cleaned up fairly well considering the dust and dirty nature of the job. Finished the entire job at 5PM started at 8AM. Gave us the warranty and explained everything that was done

EXCELLENT! JAY CAME OUT AND GAVE A VERY REASONABLE & KNOWLEGABLE ESTIMATE FOR THE WORK TO BE PERFORMED. THE CREW ARRIVED PER SCHEDULE AND IMMEDIATELY BEGAN WORK. JAY SUPERVISED THE ENTIRE INSTALLATION, ALTHOUGHT I BELIEVE THEY KNEW WHAT TO DO AND THE ROUTINE. THE CREW WORKED ESSENTIALLY FROM START TO COMPLETION WITH SCARCE BRAKE TIME. JAY BROUGHT OUT SEVERAL TYPES OF WALL DRAIN FLASHING TO MAKE SURE THE RIGHT TYPE WAS AVAILABLE FOR WHATEVER WAS APPROPRIATE. IT TOOK MORE TIME AND EXPERIENCE TO DO THE INSTALLATION, WITH NOT HAVING TO CUT OFF THE BOTTOM OF MY FINISHED WALLS. A SECTION OF PANELLING HAD TO BE REMOVED TO INSTALL THE SUMP PUMP DISCHARGE PIPE AND JAY TOOK THE TIME TO SECURE THE CORRECT COLORED NAILS TO REINSTALL THE PANEL. THE CREW WAS POLITE, INFORMATIVE AND RESPECTFUL OF MY HOME. THE PRICE DID NOT CHANGE FROM THE ESTIMATE!
