Description of Work: Jay, their lead technician, was able to squeeze me in on his schedule on very short notice as he was on his way to a job near my neighborhood. He was able to pinpoint the root cause of the water damage to a portion of the framing in my basement which was the step to the patio above the basement. Other companies who came to my house immediately tried to sell all kinds of interior drainage and sump pump without trying to figure out the root cause of the problem. To confirm what he was thinking Jay drilled a couple of holes at the bottom of my wall on the cinder blocks and sure enough he saw no sign of water or moisture on his camera monitor. Jay saved me a ton of money and explained to me a lot about foundation and water problems. In any case, even if I decide to install the interior drainage and the sump pump Basement Technologies quote was the cheapest by more than $1k compared to the other 2 quotes I got. I will definitely recommend Basement Technologies to anybody who need basement and waterproofing works done.

Description of Work: Our basement took on water on two different occasions but it was unclear as to where the primary source was. Jay came out and took the time to run water over our steps and the front of the house. With our permission, cut out a piece of drywall and cement, put a scope and light through the wall and was able to visualize the water coming down. Also while running the water along our steps, we were able to see the water dripping from the upstairs door ledge where significant settling of our cement steps had caused weakness and pressure on the outside. Jay provided us a VERY reasonable quote for sump installation in the basement, promptly sent the diagram/template of the work to be completed for review and signing. The quote was exactly what he had described, without a bunch of other confusing wording. Clear and concise! What was there is what was performed, no hidden fees at all. We communicated via email to send signed estimate and set up time. Jay answered my emails in less than an hour and was available always by phone to answer questions. Jay and his crew came out the day of installation, set up and started working right away and were done in less than five hours with everything cleaned up, and tested the system prior to leaving. He even filled some extra holes from previous carpet nails with no extra charge. We received the lifetime warranty which will transferable to the following owners of this home. Additionally we are working with contractors to fix our steps and resealing of the ledge. We had received other estimates which were CONSIDERABLY higher in price, and one which wanted to dig and install drainage system around 3/4 of the basement, which would take almost five days to complete, which to my husband and I thought was rather unnecessary since water had never seeped in the additional areas they wanted to dig. We feel confident that the system that Jay and his team placed will be invaluable to this home and to our piece of mind. Thank you again!

Description of Work: I had two other contractors come in to provide me an estimate for some water intrusion at the wall right next to the sump pump. Both companies were identical in terms of figuring out the issue and solution and the cost of such repair. They both tried to sell me a whole house water proofing system which would cost around $5-$7K. Both of these companies are A+ rated in Angies List and have hundreds of great reviews. Basement Tech. was the third company that came in. Rather than doing a guess work, Jay from Basement Tech actually removed the insulation and other stuff from the wall to see where the water was coming from. It was the sump pump discharge line that was leaking. He told me that its a quite simple fix and I didn't need any expensive whole house drainage system to waterproof my basement. Jay also pointed out that I should probably switch to a Zoeller pump with new 1.5" discharge line and use some window well covers to protect the basement. I did everything as he mentioned and I am very satisfied with his professionalism and workmanship and more importantly impressed with his honest business ethic.

Did not give us an estimate, just ideas of what we could do. They were very professional, and pleasant to talk to. Answered all our questions and concerns for each of the solutions he suggested.

Description of Work: Robert from Basement Technologies came to evaluate our basement for water damage and presence of mold. He was punctual and efficient. He gave us his honest opinion and did not try to sell us any services we didn't need. He gave us a few tips to improve areas that were susceptible to water entering the basement and reviewed previously done work in the basement. We felt he was very honest and trustworthy and would definitely call him if we need future work done.

Description of Work: Wow! That word honestly sums it up. Jay Bengston is probably the most honest technician I've ever dealt with. It was so amazingly refreshing getting the truth, rather than a sales pitch. He came over assessed the area, gave me a quote. I called him back with some questions and he spent 45 minutes going over with me the ins and outs of basement waterproofing, tailored to my own situation. At the end we decided I actually DIDN'T need any interior work done, just some regrading and water runoff management. He said he couldn't guarantee it would work, but in his experience he thought I would be fine. He basically saved me upwards of $7000. It's possible his suggestions might not work, but at least it's worth a shot. He also said at the end of our conversation to call him anytime! I mean this guy is amazing. I feel bad not actually paying him for his time. My compensation will be to try to get him as much business as I can (hopefully with this review). If I have any waterproofing work in the future, I know where to go.

Description of Work: Gentleman came out and looked at my issue on the basement. A previous contractor had given me an estimate for $10,000 and was doing a lot of work that I was not sure ws warranted. The basement technologies man explained everything to me and told me that I could go ahead with all the other work but in his experience it was not necessary. I went with them, they did the work as promised, encountered one minor problem where they needed to come back but did so quickly and willingly and fixed it. We have had several storms since they fixed my problem which was gutters leaking and water going into the basement. I have had no problems at all since they finished. I had gutters and downspots re[placed, gutter guards installed, drains for gutters away from the house, a window well cover and a replacement sump-pump installed.

Description of Work: I responded to an Angie's List Big Deal and paid $39 for a coupon to have a Basement Waterproofing Interior and Exterior Inspection. I was very satisfied with the professionalism of the technician who came. He did a very thorough inspection and suggested a sump pump system. However, we have had only 2 very small leaks in 24 years and these were around a window well. I was not pressured to invest in the sump pump and my husband and I decided not to do so. I found the inspection helpful and reassuring.

Description of Work: Robert showed up on time and went through a thorough inspection of the basement. Although we didn't find any issues, he took to explain how certain things worked. They didn't try to sell me something I didn't need! I highly recommend Basement Technologies.
