Bargain Movers

Everything was ok, until we figured (the next day) out that they forgot several boxes in one of the bedroom in the TH we were moving from. We paid them close to $1100, but still had almost 6 units to move. We had to haul our van to the other house, bring all the boxes from the top floor, and again lift them to 2nd floor in the new house. Unbelievable.

The crew did a fantastic job. They arrived a little early -- which was OK because I was ready to go. They handled furniture, lamps, etc. with care and efficiency. We had two very heavy pieces -- a sofa bed and desk -- and they were obviously used to dealing with such items. We had to drop a couple of items, including the heavy desk, at an office in Burtonsville, and they were very cooperative in accomplishing this. They carried the items into our new apartment and put them where I wanted them and unwrapped each piece and took all debris with them. Most amazing of all, they accomplished everything within the three-hour time period I had paid for. I can't say enough about this crew from Bargain Movers. I would recommend this company to anyone (and I already have given their name to the office in our new apartment building, for future renters).

They were incredibly fast and completely professional. He sent extra men to make sure they could make their next scheduled move on time. The price was excellent. Everyone at the company was very personable.

The company representatives were prompt, professional and efficient. The company provided the personnel, material and service that was discussed and agreed on, at the price they estimated. The men came to the house, surveyed the items and went to work wrapping and moving items. Once we arrived to VA, they also helped to reassemble furniture. In total, the move took close to 5 hours and we were very pleased with the price and results. We would definitely use Bargain Movers should we relocate again, and will recommend them to our friends and family in the DC Metro area.

It went very well; they were on time and got on with the job with minimum fuss. They were excellent throughout and the job was completed very quickly - short and sweet!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It turned out very well. There was a minor additional charge for the travel.

Originally I tried to get a quote from a few other movers that were rated very well on Angie's List. I found out quickly that June is a very difficult month to get a mover. Of those I called, Movers USA was the most helpful. They didnt think they could cover our move but got Bargain Movers on the phone while I waited. They basically acted as an agent to set me up with Bargain Movers and assured me that I would be in good hands. From there the process with Bargain Movers went very smoothly. I was asked a number of questions about the move and was given a quote. I accepted the quote and made deposit on line. The move time frame was arranged and all of my questions were handled. Everyone I spoke with was very courteous and knowledgeable and patient (I called 3 times beofore the move with questions.). The day of the move the movers were prompt, polite and very careful with my mom's belongings. The team of three all hustled and got things loaded much more quickly than I expected. There were a few things that I had not padked yet and they handled them without missing a beat. All of the men very especially nice which made it nice for my mom who had dementia. The apartment where things needed to be delivered required going through a door that was secured by a keypad. Again they handled things without issue. Again the work was done quickly and without issue. I would hire these guys again in a minute and I would recommend them to anyone.

They were very punctual, early in fact, very professional and friendly. Nothing was broken or scratched in the process and they charged me what we agreed upon. There were no hidden fees or frivolous costs such as charges for runners, furniture covers or tape as I have been ripped off before. I will call them again if I need anything.

Luis came to the house and provided us a quote for both packing and moving all of our things. He explained the company's philosophy and answered all of our questions regarding insurance and materials provided. The day before our move, Martina called to confirm everything and gave us our crew chief's name. At 8am, Will and his team arrived and had us give them a tour of the house. We noted things we did not want moved and everyone started loading the trucks efficiently. We had a full storage unit so once the house was packed up, we headed to the unit and packed it up as well. The team got to the new house and we walked through it to understand what went were. The team was sure to ask if something was not labeled or where things like furniture would go. Everything was super smooth and no a single thing went wrong! The team was fantastic and professional. The unloaded quickly and were done early! We would use them again in a heartbeat and will recommend them to anyone moving! Great job all!

My daughter and her friend who were there when the movers arrived said they were prompt and very professional. I live in the deep south, several states away and was very concerned about this move for my daughter. Luis, the owner/manager answered every question I had way in advance both over the phone and the via the internet. They were excellent as a moving company. They adhered to any detail of a question that I had. I would highly recommend this company.

I would highly recommend Bargain Movers. They are professional, responsive, and honest. They may not be the cheapest, but they are not the most expensive either. If or when we move again, I will be calling them. The owner, Luis, is a true professional. He was courteous and helpful from the start of the in-home quote through the conversation we had several days after the move. The moving team were middle aged gentlemen who really seemed to care, not late teen or early twenty year olds that were just there to get a paycheck. They may not have been as fast at packing or going up and down stairs as a younger team, but they seemed to be more careful with our possessions. What really made it for me, however, was how Luis handled a minor issue after the move. As can happen from time to time, things get damaged during a move. While we did not purchase full value protection, Luis took care of a few minor items that were damaged during the move. I really respect him for this. He was in no way obligated to do this. He did it because it was the right thing to do. That is the main reason I would recommend Bargain Movers to anyone.

My husband and I used the following Angie's List deal: $399 FOR 3 HOURS OF WORK PLUS 1 HOUR TRAVEL TIME. I left a voicemail on a Saturday morning and got a call back a few hours later on the same day. After speaking with Luis, the owner (I believe), and discussing that we'd need to purchase an additional half hour of travel time beyond the hour allotted in the deal (because they are located in Maryland and my storage unit was in SW DC) at a rate of $67.50 and that they'd be able to accommodate our need for an afternoon move because we were closing on our home in the morning, we scheduled our move with Bargain Movers. Luis said the appointment start time would need to be flexible because the start time would depend on how long the morning appointment lasted. I agreed and the movers were scheduled to arrive between noon and 2pm. On the day of the move Luis called to let me know that the morning appointment was taking much longer than planned and the movers may not arrive until 4pm. This wasn't great news since it meant moving our things in rush hour DC traffic. After expressing my concerns, Luis agreed to be flexible on the charges for travel time if it took and excessive amount of time to get from the storage unit to our new home. Thankfully, Luis was able to find another crew who could meet us by 2:30 so we didn't have to deal with moving in rush hour after all. But I appreciated his willingness to work to find a solution that work for us and his company. The three-man crew that arrived was friendly and quick. I'm still amazed by how quickly they made it from SW DC to our new home that is at the very northernmost section of DC! Although the whole move took 3 1/2 hours instead of the 3 that were part of the Angie's list deal (which accounts for the extra total cost of the move), we have no complaints about the service we received. The extra time could've easily been double or triple that if it weren't for the speed and efficiency of the moving crew. And I appreciated that they didn't try to tack on additional expenses by using boxes and packing supplies that we didn't need (as I've experienced with other companies in the past). Although I think $535 is no small amount, it was a much better price than other companies we spoke to. And just the fact that Bargain Movers don't try to nickle and dime you along the way was refreshing and kept me from stressing out about costs. All in all, it was a smooth process and we'd use Bargain Movers again in a heartbeat!

The owner of the business, Luis, is very personable and professional. He called me right back after my initial contact and made an effort to accommodate my needs. He was clear that it would be a stretch to provide moving service on the day I wanted, but he did. On the actual moving day, the men were supposed to arrive between 1and 1:30pm. Luis called to explain they were delayed by a move in DC that was taking waaay longer than expected. I thanked him for the alert and was able to move other things myself, including my 2 kitties before they arrived. They came at 4:30pm; very pleasant but a little rough with the furniture.1 man smashed the entry light with the mattress he was carrying and a brass ball on the head-post of my iron bed was cut in two during the move.( Luis was very apologetic and had it repaired for me and mailed it to my new address.) They finished the initial move at 8pm. The plan was to return on Sat to empty my storage bin at Acorn Storage since there wasn't time on May 2. They were able to come at 10:15 rather than the original plan of 1pm and Luis called ahead with this option. The 2 men worked fast and were as nice as could be. Moving is no fun and a lot of hard work, but these men made it enjoyable and Luis is a joy to do business with!

They did a great job. There was no damage and they worked hard. I have a townhouse and felt that the price was reasonable. They sent a crew of 3 guys and it was done very efficient. I would call them again for another move.

I selected Bargain Movers from Angies List and I was not disappointed. From my first contact with Luis to finalizing my agreement with Martina to our moving day crew of Maurice, Jose & Sam I thought everyone was on-time, responsive, professional and hard working. We did our own pack out/disassembly and of course were not completely finished the morning of the move but the crew not only made up for that difference but they managed to finish in 6 hours total. Our estimate was for 9 hours total so we were quite happy with the savings. We had extensive exercise equipment and quite a few very heavy items and the managed to get them all moved without incident. The only damage of note was we lost one bottle of wine (could probably have been packed better by us) and they dinged up a wall pretty good in our old house. I will mention that if you do your own pack out that the moving supplies are much cheaper from Home Depot although Luis as promised did deliver the materials and gave us a full credit on the unused ones the day of our move. Just be aware you are paying for that service.

Bargain movers was referred to us by our friend who had used them Aug of 2012. Luis the owner and manager was very polite & professional on the phone. He gave me an estimate based on our phone conversation. Martina who also works in the office was prompt with regards to getting the paper work put together for the move & confirmation of the date/time etc. On the day of the move a 3 man crew arrived, Will, Dennis & Sam. They were punctual and worked efficiently to get all stuff moved. Over all they did a good job, but there were a few times I felt that were in a bit of a hurry to get their job done which resulted in them not being careful. However these instances were few in the big picture. I will end by saying my experience with bargain movers was pleasant and I would use them again or recommend them.

I was very satisfied with the services provided by Bargain Movers. On the morning of the move they called to let me know they were on their way and then arrived a few minutes early. In my apartment they disassembled my large pieces of furniture and efficiently and thoroughly packaged and wrapped them. They carefully transferred my furniture and all of my boxes down the elevator and out to their truck. They loaded and unloaded the truck quickly. As they were moving my belongings up the elevator at the storage unit, my couch tipped over and one of its feet broke off, but the mover apologized and said he would give it to the owner and make sure it got fixed. A couple days later the owner called me to let me know that he was getting the foot fixed and to ask where I would like it delivered. A couple days after that the repaired couch foot was delivered to me. At the storage facility, the movers very skillfully packed all of my boxes and furniture into my storage unit. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience with Bargain Movers. Luis the owner was polite and helpful when I first contacted him about getting a price quote. He answered my many questions and gave me a price quote that was very accurate and almost exactly the amount that my final price came out to be. The move only took 3 hours, as estimated, and the movers were efficient and didn't waste time. I was impressed with how the employees took responsibility for the damage to my cough foot and quickly repaired it. I will use Bargain Movers again in the future.

To say that Bargain Movers did a great job would be a huge understatement. From my first contact with Luis and Martina to wrapping up the final details they displayed a level of professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness by Luis, Martina, and the crew of Will, Dennis, and Steve. They arrived right on time and began working immediately. At times I thought there were 4 or 5 movers because they hustled so much. Yet they took great care of all of my stuff, wrapping pictures, lamps, furniture, etc., before loading it. The crew worked with obvious enthusiasm and pride in their work. After arriving at my new home they asked where everything went and carefully unloaded the truck. We had estimated 4-5 hours and they completed it in 4 hours and 15 minutes. In any large move a person can expect some damage, and I had one large picture in which the glass had cracked. They were very apologetic. Today, Luis stopped by the house and took the picture. He said he will have the frame dismantled, a new glass inserted, get everything put back together and get it to me by next week at no additional charge. While I do not look forward to moving, Bargain Movers made the experience more pleasant than I could possibly imagine. I have absolutely no hesitation in strongly recommending them to anybody that needs a local move.

The movers were extremely helpful from start to finish. Scheduling was easy and I was given the cheapest option possible. The movers arrived right on time and moved quickly while still making sure all of my possessions were secure and undamaged. They even asked if I wanted anything moved to a different room before they left.

I got the info of Bargain mover from one of my friends who used them about 2years ago. He highly recommended it. Once I called Luis and asked him to come for an estimate, he arrived right on time. Since we have a lot of staff and I worried about the moving, Luis promised me they can handle it with no worries. The estimate was reasonable, an 8 hours job which in line with or even better than my own judgment. Further more, they also promised to provide me 6 wardrobe boxes for free. The crew showed up on time at 8:00AM on the moving day. Those 3 guys are very professional and friendly. their productive performance really impressed me. They finished loading around 12:00PM, just hit the estimate that Luis gave me. They arrived at my Vienna's new home before we did. What really impressed me is they never stopped for lunch, instead, they just ate one or two bites when they finished one unload. They finished the whole job around 3:15PM, which was faster than the estimate and the final price was also lower than the estimate about one hour's rate. We really appreciate their job!
