Description of Work: They had been our HVAC provider for years, and when our heat pump finally went, we received a preliminary written quote which was more than two times the eventual price from another supplier. They are no longer our provider.

Description of Work: I called B&B for a service call. I had a contract with them a few years ago but let it lapse for financial reasons. Jim and John came by to check on a leak. I wasn't sure if it came from the whole-house humidifier or from some other source (i.e., pipes, dishwasher, etc.). First of all, they fit me in at the last minute, came at the early end of arrival window, and got to work immediately looking for the problem. Once that was easily found (it was not HVAC-related), they continued to give me details about what they could see in the nooks and crannies of my house so that I could give details to the plumbing folks I had to contact next. It was very helpful. Then they checked out my whole HVAC system, made repairs to the Heat Pump that were needed, and set me up with a new yearly contract. Were they pricey? Yes (although I don't really have a comparison point other than my pocketbook) Do I think it was worth it? Absolutely.

Description of Work: I am in the process of buying a new air conditioner and air handler unit. I have gotten quotes from three Angie's List providers. The previous quotes were for around $6000 and both of the folks that came out were very polite and professional. They provided a quote not an estimate on the spot for identical systems. Jake from B&B came out and looked at the system and told me they would need to do considerably more than the other two companies stated needed doing. He took all the information and told me he would e-mail me a quote this week. The quote arrived today - $14,685 for the same system as the other two companies!! This included the $1000 rebate AND my $735 loyal customer rebate. What was amazing to me was that both of the other firms said they would need to put some plywood down in my attic to walk on, at no charge would that be ok, whereas B&B was going to charge for the plywood even!! Needless to say they will NOT be installing an new system and they will not have this "loyal" customer any longer.

Description of Work: B & B came out when our programmable thermostat went out and replaced it with a "generic" brand (I was very unhappy that my husband, who was the one at home, allowed them to install it - and they charged over $200 for the thermostat alone). The service cost over $400 with the labor. A little over a month later the thermostat went out. I called them, very irate. They came out and replaced the thermostat and charged only the basic service charge ($95). A week later the new thermostat went out. As you can imagine, I was furious. They sent out one of their service managers, who checked it and the whole system. Just to make sure, their head service manager came out. They checked everything again, were here for four hours, and did not charge me. The service couldn't have been better, but they need to get a new supplier for their thermostats, which are crappy.

Description of Work: THEY CAME BECAUSE OUR HEATER WASN'T WORKING PROPERLY. THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM AND CLEANED THE UNIT.
