Description of Work: Came to remove several trees from back yard and clear brush. Did it all in two days. Another company quoted the same cost just to remove One extremely large tree. The guys worked really hard and the end result was great. It included grinding down the roots on the trees too. Must've been about 15 trees. Fantastic job.

Description of Work: Well where do i begin. We used them once and they completed the job and they made some suggestions and gave us a price. My husband agreed and sent them a check (for deposit) on May 30, 2014 and they cashed the check on Jume 3, 2014. They never called so my husband reached out to them and they said they were behind because of the rain. Weeks went by and still no communication, so my husband called them on 7/15/14 and they said they would call him back on July 16, 2014 and still no communication. How unprofessional to take the deposit, cash the check and then not communicate when the work would be started. Today (7/17/14) I will reach out to them to see what happens.

Description of Work: Hometown did a tree takedown and stump grind for a large tree that was close to the house. Their price was comparable to another service and the agent stayed a few minutes to advise on other questions that I had. They completed the takedown and debris removal by noon and returned later in the week to do the stump grind. Their people knew their business and worked efficiently. I would hire them again for tree work.

Description of Work: tree trimming and tree removal - which all went fine. It could have been weather related, but it seemed to only move forward (planning/scheduling-wise) if I was pushing them. Also - they didn't remove my stump on the same day (different equipment needed, I think) and I ended up having someone else do it because I had other work scheduled. No word on my refund of that portion of the bill yet... tho its only been a few days.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's list deal for tree trimming and this company did a great job, exactly what I asked for and, though I wasn't home when they actually provided the service, it was completed as scheduled. I have no complaints and would use them again.

Description of Work: The company actually did work but not for the coupon. Here's the story: when I called to schedule, they told me the coupon was not good for Virginia but that they would be happy to give me an estimate. They came by and quoted me $425 for the work. I thought that was reasonable although it was a lot more than the $199 I paid for the coupon (four hours of labor). I accepted the offer and mailed a deposit by check (they do not accept credit cards). They were to call the day before coming. They called the day before a predicted storm to say they were coming the next day (Thursday). They did not show which is what I expected with the uncertain weather. They did not call again but did the work sometime between Friday 6/14 and Monday 6/17 while I was away. I was satisfied with the job and am waiting for a bill for the balance.

Description of Work: Estimate was for $1200 minus $199 paid for big deal to total $1001 to trim two large trees. The big deal was for 4 hours of tree service, not sure how this would have saved me any money at all. If the estimate was for $1200 minus $400 for a total of $800 then I would have been able to see the value of buying the big deal. It just looks like a bait and switch to me.

Description of Work: I needed a tree cut down. The tree hasn't been cut down yet but will be. I used the coupon which was readily honored to the price I was given. The estimator was very upfront and professional. He told me exactly what he would do. The people on the phone were professional as well. But, so far the service Hometown has provided gets a Grade of A+. This was the first time I used the Groupon coupon/Groupn experience and it was great. (I was expecting alot of problems but there were none.) I will provide an update when the tree is cut down. If he does as great of a job of cutting down and removing the tree as he did talking with me and giving an estimate, I will definitely use the company again.

Description of Work: We hired Hometown after the Derecho this summer (July/12) destroyed a few of the trees on our property. Our experience with Hometown was top notch - they were very responsive, courteous and professional. We would absolutely use them again!
