+ -1 moreWe had a contract with them for the last two years: From June 2015 to June 2017. The cost was just under $3000. That was for the initial treatment and the annual fee was $350. They did not get rid of the termites and they would give us a hard time about coming back out to treat, even though I would send them pictures of the termite re-infestation. They really hassled us about coming to re-treat. Then, finally when I got so frustrated that I threatened that we were going to sue them if they didn't live up to their end of the contract, which we planned to do. They came and removed the bait stations prior to the end of the contract. They removed the centra-con bait stations. They violated the contract. They removed the bait statements on 6/20. We had until 6/30 to renew for the year, so our contract wasn't even up. They removed the bait statements. Then they basically just wouldn't come back to re-treat until we threatened them. Then they finally came back to re-treat and they removed the bait stations before the end of our contract. Their pricing wasn't bad. They actually were on time when they did show. I would never use them again.

+ -1 moreOne guy came out and he comes out all of the time. It takes him about 20 minutes to do the inside, set the traps inside the house, and spray the back and front. Whenever they do come in, they put stuff on their shoes so that they don't track anything.
Description of Work: They came out did the normal spraying. They still do the spray for the carpenter bees and yellow jackets on the outside.

+ -1 moreThey are an outstanding company. The guy was on the road taking a lunch break and said he would be over in 20 min. He got the dead bees with his bare hands and used a vacuum to pull them out. There were a couple thousand of them. I am on a contract with them. They come out every other month and service the home. If I need something done in the odd months, they will re-spray if I see stuff. Just one gentleman comes out and he was here about 40 minutes. He took away all of the bees and disposed of them. They cleaned out the sub-flooring area between the living room and family room. They got all of the bees out and cleaned the area real good. I still had an issue and the queen bee kept coming back. She learned her problem after all of the spraying. I have had them for over 10 years. They are a good, reliable company. They are on time. They said they will come out when you request them. Their price is fair when they come out every other month. If you need additional done in the off months, they will come out at no charge. We hired them several years ago and were impressed with their service. Their prices started to climb, so we switched companies. The other company was pathetic, so we went back to them. They are only five miles away. The other company didn't do the job, so we went back.

Description of Work: There was an infestation in our back yard and what they did is they put some traps down and they checked it and put new stuff down. They for six months. They came several times. I called and I used them and they came over. They were very quick. They came over and looked at what going on. They put some traps and things in our backyard. What had happened was we had a bird feeder and the food would some of the birds would feed there and we saw vermin coming. We wanted to make sure that didn't happen anymore.

+ -1 moreThis business has highly deceptive marketing tactics. While their website claims that the preferred service is $99 bi-monthly. When they called me back to schedule the appointment, they mentioned that the first visit is actually $199. The reason they gave me is that the fine print states "Exclusions apply". Nowhere on their website have they mentioned that the initial visit is greater than the bi-monthly rate. Businesses these days believe that by placing "Exclusions apply" they can get away with anything. This is not sound business practice. as a consumer, I would appreciate businesses to be upfront on their costs - We spend a lot of time researching through reviews and comparing pricing. This definitely does not do any good.

+ -1 moreThey have treated my house for over 4 years now and my rental home for 2 years before I bought a new home. From the beginning they were more expensive than any other company but I built rapport with the technician that came out every other month so I stuck with them. Then three years later they raised rates by $5. I was pretty upset since they were already expensive but I stuck with them. Less than a year later they raised rates again another $5 so, once shame on you, twice, shame on me. I'm not taking this bogus fee hikes.

+ -1 moreThey charge me every other month in an annual fee. We have been using them for a while. They are very responsive. I actually have them coming out this week. If you every need any service in between, they'll come out and do additional services as needed. I can always schedule them within a couple of days. There is one technician that comes out each time. They explain their services and send a report with all of chemicals they are using as well. They tell you how many ounces of everything they put down. We signed on for regular routine treatment around the house (ants, spiders). They check on everything that they put out and will respray if needed, seasonally it changes. They check in when they get there and when they leave. They put on boot covers if they come in the house.
Description of Work: They do pest control every two months. We have a contract for general service. It is an annual fee (renewal in September).

+ -1 moreThey were great. They came out like a year or more ago. They were great. The price was reasonable. It was not cheap. I got their pricier service because I have a dog. I'm including the follow-up when I called and asked questions. First of all, the woman didn't know what bug I had, but she did text the picture to a supervisor, so I didn't actually know when they left, but I was able to call back and get more information and get advice, it was helpful. They were like you don't need pest control, you just need to vacuum the heck out of the place. It turns out I'm allergic to carpet beetles.

+ 0 moreThe residential manager paid me a visit, looked at the dead bug and discussed the circumstances. Two days later, two Ward/Innovative technicians spent four hours in the unlighted, very cramped crawl space under my house, searching for routes bugs might use on their way in and sealing cracks. They found dampness resulting from rainwater from the roof not being led far enough away from the exterior walls, came out and reviewed all the downspouts and recommended downspout extensions, which I later installed. There was no charge for this service, since it was covered by my yearly indoor/outdoor contract. I am extremely happy with Ward/Innovative's level and quality of service, which is far better than the three other pest control companies I contracted with over the years. I'm convinced Ward/Innovative is doing everything possible to keep my house pest free.
Description of Work: I've had several annual contracts with Ward Pest Control of Falls Church, VA for three or so years, since before they merged with Innovative of Beltsville, MD. I had several pest control firms before Ward, but some had trouble with scheduling, others didn't send technicians who knew their jobs, and one, a nationally known company, would accept advance payment for a year's contract and then try to bill me (and other yearly customers) for extra charges at the end of the year, saying their costs had gone up during the year. Ward (and now Innovative) has none of those difficulties. They bug-proof my house, are willing to schedule visits every two months throughout the year, and have pleasant technicians who know their job thoroughly. The specific work I want to review involved an encounter I had with a single Oriental cockroach. These cockroaches are very common in my neighborhood and most of Northern Virginia.. Oriental cockroaches are not like the German roaches who move into your house drawn by food waste and a dirty kitchen and are difficult to get rid of. I keep my house clean and have never had German roaches. The large Oriental cockroaches (some people think they're water beetles) live outdoors because outdoors is where their vegetable food sources are. They don't really want to come into your house, but just blunder in.
